I love the fact that Science Fiction authors have a better track record of predicting the future than every religious prophet in human history, combined.
Most of us that were users of the early internet were smart enough to know that privacy was a thing of the past. It was those who came later that didn’t get it, and then their children went off the deep end on not caring about privacy at all.
All with a 200-400 baud modem, isn’t progress grand.

The Apple Newton came out in 1993, the PalmPilot in 1997… if you were a person observing trends, consolidation was pretty obviously coming.
