The end of an era

47

Some of you may remember, 4 years ago, Meh sold a Fukubukuro on April 1st (much like they’re doing today, except without the Mehrathon). A few of us that bought them got a little surprise in the guise of a freight truck.

That day, approximately 175 pairs of Cornfield Electronics Trip Glasses with dead batteries were left in my garage (much to my wife’s dismay).

I am sad (or maybe happy?) to report that as of Saturday, I have sold the last pair of trip glasses (much to my wife’s happiness). My garage is empty, and so is my heart. It’s only fitting that the last pair was shipped out today, exactly 4 years after purchase.

After I gave away as many pairs to the neighborhood children and their parents as I could, I donated half of them to my local Goodwill store. The rest I threw on eBay for $24.99 each. After shipping, eBay and Paypal costs, my profit was about $18 on each pair. I sold about 80 of them. Not a bad return on my $5 investment!

Happy Mehrathoning fellow Mehtizens…
