@ChadP admirable choice. I am unsure why Pete and Pete didn't gain more traction/attain similar prestige as did other shows of the time. Perchance it 'twas a tad adult/bizarre for the target audience?
@ChadP I met the voice actor who played Olmec once at universal studios (backstage at the big helpathon). He also used to play beetlejuice in one of the universal theme park stage shows, so when I met him I heard him do the olmec voice in full beetlejuice makup/costume - super weird.
@escowhat I almost gave you a star for nominating hey dude for worst show but then you said Are you Afraid of the Dark as best show and took it back. AYAOTD was an awesome show but not the best.
@MrGlass sorry, I thought but did not write that I was looking at non animated. I really really really like both the shows you mentioned. I have gone as Quail Man for many Halloween and also like listening to the band The Beets.
Pete & Pete definitely takes the top prize. Sick Day was my favorite episode. So many small jokes that are easily overlooked. Plus, the Excalibur 2000, the garage door opener to end all garage door openers. Edit: 12:01 is when the Excalibur song starts
I wasn't a huge fan of Pete & Pete when I was a kid, but a friend has the DVDs and I watched quite a few with him once. It's an astonishingly good show. I think it was just over the heads of kids at that time. Now that they're replaying some of the classic Nick shows from when I was a kid late at night I've seen how terrible some of them really were. I'd still want to compete on Guts though.
Short answer. No.
It wasn't the greatest. But it was pretty good.
May I present:
@ChadP IT'S A GOD DAMNED MONKEY MAKE IT A MONKEY WHY IS THIS SO HARD
@Lotsofgoats so much frustration watching this as an adult.

@connorbush it was absolutely too bizarrtsy (I just made that word up send me all the money now thx) for most kids
@Lotsofgoats I could see that., it emits a portlandia/garden state ish vibe

If we're not talking about animated Nick shows, I present to you my contender:
@dashcloud This is the correct answer.
@dashcloud Yeah, I was going for non-animated. Agred, great show. IDK why Pete and Pete has such a place in my heart.
I love the album by Polaris of all those songs.
I nominate Hey Dude for worst show that my sister and I watched way too much. And Are You Afraid of The Dark? for best show.
@escowhat I almost gave you a star for nominating hey dude for worst show but then you said Are you Afraid of the Dark as best show and took it back. AYAOTD was an awesome show but not the best.
@escowhat hey dude was truly terrible
@escowhat ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK IS AN EPIC SHOW
I can't believe none of you have mentioned Doug. Or Roccos modern life.

@Willijs3 the garage door opener to end all is soooo good.

@jqubed I recall reading something about why Pete and Pete could not make the replay of shows I do not remember the reasons.
@jqubed I lost my DVDs of the show BUT it is on youtube with most episodes.
