Raise your hand if you think yesterday Meh-athon sucked…
Every single item item offered sucked it seems like the last few of these they only been offering really crappy stuff you could already find at your local Dollar Tree
@PooltoyWolf I preferred it when they had 250 a time and fewer of them. Of course 100 at a time and more frequently, from a marketing point of view, is more successful. It keeps more people engaged in the event over a longer period of time so they can flash us with the same old same old crap they have recycled over and over and still not enough of us want it. Maybe they should rethink what their target markets for their different sites actually buy enough of that it never makes it into the recycling bin of a metharon to begin and rethink what they buy?
@PooltoyWolf Thought I had finally snagged an IRK but, alas, I was defeated by the dreaded Captcha. On the plus side, I still got charged for a month of membership for a transaction that never took place
Definitely not as many cool items as there used to be a few years ago, seems like a dumping ground for morningsave stuff instead of “Bluetooth Speakers, Docks and Knives”
@ELUNO, one item was actually priced higher! Last week I ordered two sets of the 6 pack of antibacterial wipes on a sister site at $18 each, they were priced at $20 during event. Below Meh in my book.
Got an IRK. Nothing else. I didn’t even plan on that (after the last one got here and others revealed theirs, I decided I wasn’t going to spend all day trying), it just happened to show up when I was checking something out on the laptop.
@lisaviolet, yes last month’s IRK was a little disappointing. I had ordered the makeup removal cloths for my niece and ended up getting another set in the IRK.
Pretty much the stuff left unsold at closing time on the last day at an estate sale. You know, the stuff where the estate sale operator resorts to calling in the unfortunate charity to clear out everything in exchange for getting it free.
Practically everything in the meh-athron is for sale on morningsave for up to $ 5 less. Even less with VMP. That is why they never seem to sell out anymore.
@Felton10 , Morningsave actually increased their price on wipes to match the “special price” Meh offered. Been a member now going on my third month. Overall, still happy but it they continue to do crap like this, I and probably many others will quit paying the monthly fee and stop clicking on the sites. Meh, et al., are you listening?
Meh. I spent too much. Maybe y’all have an underdeveloped appreciation for cheapish crap. Yes, I probably have an overdeveloped appreciation for cheapish crap; that’s pretty much what my wife tells me every time I even mention meh.
1:18 AM (in my time zone) the 2 pack instacharge 4000 mAh with the suction and ring stand; they’ve been taunting me; I’d been asleep but I’ve consistently been waking up 2 or 4 hours into my sleep and when I did that evening decided to check
the IRK, obvs (missed the first, slept, missed a couple or a few more, then hit at 9:50 AM)
12:52 PM the Monster 2-outlet, 4-USB; been looking for something like this especially for the wife, what with both of us in the home working and she’s always somehow destroying charger bases; I was tempted to get two, because I think it looks cool, but it’s a little pricey; I debated off and on for 90 minutes before pulling the trigger; I’ll even let her have it
3:16 PM squishy foam meh puck; because duh
3:30 PM mousepad Qi charger, despite the color (pink, but it looks mostly neutral and the faux leather might make it unobtrusive); prolly offer to the missus first and take it if she doesn’t want it; decent price and I like the Qi; took me 45 minutes to decide that one
10:33 PM, in the final hour finally decided to get the Incase accessory organizer that had gone up 11 hours earlier; I have a thing for olive and too many accessories rolling around; I almost got the phone case with charger, both were too much, decided the organizer is what I really need; a guy can never have too many bags and pouches, so I felt I had to have one other the other (seriously consider a few of the backpacks too)
They get me with the ICYMI. Although maybe it’s a wash, because I take the time to consider and pass on stuff too.
@joelmw I bought the monster thing too. I have the 4 usb one on my nightstand and really like it but always wished it had an outlet for my lamp. And now it will!
I was oblivious it was going on until 4:30 central time. To which I hopped on it and surprisingly snagged an IRK. I’m pretty happy about that. Didn’t see anything else I wanted, but these days I am pretty saturated with buying “stuff”.
One would think I’d pass on IRKs and BOCs, but noooo.
Addiction.
I bought an item and less than two hours later the same item was offered for 1/3 less. There was no option to cancel the original order. I was not happy!
The putty finally got down to less than $1/tin, so I bought some for the clinic to see if it’s more popular with the youngs than the fidget spinners. Not that the fidget spinners are bad, but after a kid’s been in the 3rd time for stitches, I’m sure they lose their luster.
I bought some shower curtains with sailboats on them. I’m pretty happy.
I had a very good time. I only spent a dollar.
Edit: Plus that damn tax.
@Barney I can only assume you bought the same item I did.
@DoctorOW Yep!
They finally listed the claws shoes for a price i was willing to pay and then were sold out of the sizes I wanted. Very grump inducing.
It was 99% cheap crap. Whatever happened to the shark vacuums and other big fun stuff?!
As a member, but not a VMP I had fun with the new members’ hour.
I was pleased with the proximity alarm and UV sanitizing wand, but once again missed every IRK.
@PooltoyWolf Glad it’s not just me. I almost got an IRK twice but both the times the fucking captcha screwed me over.
Greetings, new robot friend. In time you will come to accept your robotic ways.

As a fellow robot, I understand your pain.
@DoctorOW That’s a very common mood here!
Bought a shirt, massage gun and an IRK.
Definitely not as many cool items as there used to be a few years ago, seems like a dumping ground for morningsave stuff instead of “Bluetooth Speakers, Docks and Knives”
@MrMikenIkes I bought the gun last time, works great!
@kbstanciel @MrMikenIkes This sounds amazing out of context.
99% of them are the exact same unsold products over and over.

@lisaviolet Same here. Saw Irk. Bought Irk. Saw everything else. Did not buy everything else.
@lisaviolet with what was visibly for sale, can you imagine what is in that IRK?
@cinoclav @RedOak
I’m not holding my breath. At least I didn’t waste lots of time trying to get one.
At least the bag should be good. Like I really need another one.
@lisaviolet, yes last month’s IRK was a little disappointing. I had ordered the makeup removal cloths for my niece and ended up getting another set in the IRK.
Yep, the past two meh-RATHONs have been crap.
Pretty much the stuff left unsold at closing time on the last day at an estate sale. You know, the stuff where the estate sale operator resorts to calling in the unfortunate charity to clear out everything in exchange for getting it free.
@RedOak anything that might have been tempting, was not priced like the Meh of the first two years.
Example: the Incase zippered accessory organizer was not priced at $9, it was like twice that.
@RedOak Yeah, a lot of prices were SMH fo’ sure.

/giphy shrug

@joelmw What did you buy? I gotta know.
@sammydog01
In order, because it might be meaningful:
They get me with the ICYMI. Although maybe it’s a wash, because I take the time to consider and pass on stuff too.
@joelmw I bought the monster thing too. I have the 4 usb one on my nightstand and really like it but always wished it had an outlet for my lamp. And now it will!
The adjustable jump ropes were a great deal…pulled the trigger on that and will be sharing them.

Oh WOW, the moment I sent that I got a notification the IRK shipped. What the hell, who is this new Meh?
I bought an item and less than two hours later the same item was offered for 1/3 less. There was no option to cancel the original order. I was not happy!
@rtjhnstn what items are you talking about? That seems unlike Meh.
