Test-Teas Thursday

DJ_Purchache thought this was worth mentioning said Thu, Aug 1st 2019 at 2:23pm ET

So, we were going to brew Iced Peach Tea today, but stopped when we realized we had a sample of some Liquid Luck (Felix F. for those of you familiar with the fandom).

We brewed up a pot (or 2 ) and gave it a try.

Something is telling us this post is better suited for a Friday.

Do you have any Harry Potter merch or a favorite dish/drink inspired by the movie?

- @riskybryzness I have a time turner necklace, a set of plastic cups for all the houses, a pass to universal so I can go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter whenever I want, a hoodie, some shirts… Etc.
  
  The best drink I’ve had at the park was some kind of lemon thing. The name escapes me at the moment.

  Possibly the biggest surprise of all the new drinks is Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice. Slightly carbonated, this orange drink has a hint of vanilla along with cinnamon and sugar on the rim. This combo on the rim of the cup is one of the greatest breakthroughs in the last 20 years of drink technology. Like a Blue Moon beer, this non-alcoholic drink is topped with an orange slice. It may not have the fanfare of other Potter-themed drinks, but for our money the refreshing Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice tops the list.

  Peachtree Fizzing Tea. Like a Pumpkin Fizz over at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmade, the Fizzing Tea is a carbonated beverage. Peach flavored and with a hint of ginger. It reminded us of a peach cobbler and wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet.

- @RiotDemon @riskybryzness I have a teeny tiny HP tattoo and more collectables than I likely should. But my fav is probably Luna Lovegood’s wand that friends of mine brought back from Universal for me.
  I can’t wait to go myself! I’m currently ~~indoctrinating~~ sharing my fandom with my son in hopes to throw an awesome 10th birthday surprise.

- @LeviOhPlz @RiotDemon @riskybryzness We’re trying to figure out when our daughter will be old enough for us to let her start reading the series, or start reading it to her.
  I don’t think she’d be ready for the later books, and we wouldn’t want to have to make her wait too long between them…

  When I went a few years ago, I got chosen by the wandmaster in Ollivanders and ended up with an interactive Elder wood wand. Best $50 I spent all trip long.

- @RiotDemon No, it’s not the interactive one. Though when we do go ourselves I am most definitely getting one!
  @Limewater My kid is 4. We read the illustrated editions at bedtime. We only get through a few pages a night, but he doesn’t mind not reading them one right after the other, so that buys us some time.

- @LeviOhPlz I wonder if they would let you exchange it for the interactive. I think it’s $3 more. Kinda silly to sell the regular ones. I’ve been testing some reflective items when I’ve been going to see if I can get around buying the expensive wand.
