@llangley are you confident your original comment actually posted?
Censoring is extremely rare here - like one or two comments across hundreds of thousands, rare. Site reliability wonkiness? Sure, but censoring? No.
I’d guess self-censoring - as in a user regretting a comment and asking the moderators to take it down is far more common. A lot of us having sarcastic asshole binge tendencies and all…
@RedOak TBH I’m not really sure, I was editing and thought it “took” but I really don’t know. I was kidding about the censor…we say suck and fuck all the time around here. So it was probably the goats fault but I’m not a blamer
I would spend hundreds on a humidifier that could clean itself. It doesn’t matter how cheap or expensive, they all get crummy after prolonged use. Ever tried to clean one?
@therealjrn Correct. Maybe next time I’ll start a thread for it though. I guess it didn’t occur to me because forums have always been a mishmash of social interaction that literally makes little to no sense to me, as in, I can’t follow the conversations and have no idea as to what’s going on. So I get frustrated and simply give up trying. This site has been the only one that I’ve been able to make sense of (barely - I still haven’t figured out how to put gifs in my comments).
@zinimusprime I was just messin’ with ya If you want random giphys just put “/giphy” followed by the picture topic that hopefully giphy will find. Or you can usually just put the url of a picture on a line by itself and that hopefully works.
/giphy random giphy
@zinimusprime You have a 5 minute or so “edit” window. So post, then see what you get. Click edit, then save and see if what comes up is better. You can do this for about 4 or 5 minutes. Then you’re stuck with it.
Sometimes giphy makes weird connections that are even funnier than what you had in mind.
@zinimusprime You can also post specific pictures using the posting tools down at the bottom of the forum posting window. The one that looks like mountains and the moon is for pictures. Turn your phone sideways to see it if you’re on a phone.
I bought this the last time it was on Meh and I deeply regret it. This thing makes a terrible high-pitched noise whenever it is on. I live in a small home, so I could hear it in every room. I can’t use it at all when I’m home.
My Allergist said these devices are a no-no. The colder it gets the more they can encourage condensation inside outer walls and subsequent mold growth which greatly outweighs any benefit.
Ooo, another swell item with a 34% positive rating (4 + 5 ☆ reviews) on Shamazon. Granted there are only 9 reviews (8 of which are Canadian), but it sounds like there’s lots of reasons to dislike this flimsy gizmo. I’ll get one when they’re $1.99 at Big Lots…
Hey graphics folks… can maybe objectify dudes sometime soon? Between this and the comments section yesterday, I’m feeling cranky, and this would make it a lot better.
I bought one of these 2 months ago from Meh, works good but when I went to the Tenergy Web site to register it for the warranty , I was unable to tell if my registration worked or not so I sent them an email, I received a reply stating that since I didn’t buy it on their site they wouldn’t warranty it. As stated, it works good, I just hope it doesn’t break down anytime soon.

@jsh139
+1 for the image maker
@jsh139 @medz
+2 for the model. Heh
@jsh139 @mehvid1
That’s only going to humidify a very small room. 2.5L is small, I go through that in 7 hours in a normal bedroom and approach 29% humidity.
crud, thought this was TAH01, clicked too quick
Avocados and milk jugs. Your disguises almost had me.
BZZZZ … Close, but no cigar! Ok, you’re not even that close. The lyrics are “Reelin’ in the YEARS,” not heat. (I think I just let my age slip out).
https://www.google.com/search?q=reelin+in+the+years+lyrics
On the flip side, MAJOR KUDOS for working in a Steely Dan reference. A band that deserves to survive the years.
(I still think that’s one of the great breakup songs of all time)
My comment was deleted? I did say SUCK but I did not say FUCK…
Anyway, I need a DEhumidifier. Not this. Preferably one for my whole house 1200 sq ft.
Thanks for your help!

@llangley A dehumidifier is also known as an Air Conditioner (A/C).
Flaming Hot Deal
9 hours after deal launched and… nine (now ten) comments.
Where’s that man-lady that comes along and pick fights with the posters today? I miss her, she was cute.
“Reeling in the heat”???
I’m not sure whether to be confused or angry, so I’m a little of both.

/giphy aint nobody got time for that
@KNmeh7 I use distilled water and don’t have to clean it.
@Odorous Used it for years? Distilled water doesn’t fix everything? It’s a moist environment. It’s going to get crummy.
This is more like an aromatherapy diffuser than a true humidifier.
@reefmeter It’s a humidifier, but it’s terrible.
I bought this last time. I spend about $8 a week on distilled water for it. It does a nice job. Humidity is at 47 right now.
@j37hr0 does it require a button press to power on, or will just plugging it in do the trick? Considering it for home automation with a WiFi outlet.
@j37hr0 I bought a steam distiller and a gallon costs me 34 cents
@fmanda Gotta press the button. And, you have to manually fill it.
I just wanted to comment on the dad joke. It made me laugh.
@zinimusprime No other comment? You just came here to comment on the dad joke then?
@therealjrn Correct. Maybe next time I’ll start a thread for it though. @therealjrn Do I have a chance to preview the gif or is it always dealer’s choice?

@therealjrn I agree, the natural juxtaposition of randomness is way funnier than I could ever be on purpose. Which is why mad libs are the best.
I miss the playlist Saturdays…
@catthegreat just listened to the heartbeat one last night, a real pleasure

@MrNews Yes, lots of reasons to dislike. Make sure to pick one up later! <snark>
If only the model in the last pic had only bought 1 of these…
@bjvangundy
Ultrasonics always leave white dust on everything. I stick to evaporative or the warm mist.
@darkzrobe That may be the minerals in the water. Try distilled water, eh?
Is this the same Tenergy that makes R/C batteries? Seems like it!
Hey graphics folks… can maybe objectify dudes sometime soon? Between this and the comments section yesterday, I’m feeling cranky, and this would make it a lot better.

@medz I am marginally less cranky and mostly placated. Thank you
