@somf69 This is a dumb question but until I clicked on the link you provided I never even saw that picture. I have noticed this has happened before. Where are they originally? On this thread or on the front page where the deal is?
In for 3. One to keep in my purse with that TOCCs charging dongle thingy, 1 for Mr. Man, and one to replace the one I'll probably leave behind on my next business trip.
Security theater requires a willing suspension of disbelief. It is hard to tell the difference between a battery case filled with battery guts and a battery case filled with explosives using an airport xray machine. You have to be able to turn on any device you plan to take on an airplane to show that the batteries are real. Without the flashlight feature, you wouldn't be allowed to take these with you on a flight.
Absolute willing suspension of disbelief is required here. Do not start speculating on other ways to power the flashlight.
@vampje Sure make me look up the rules. You win, these are small enough it doesn't matter unless you carry 4 or more with you at a time. You're allowed a total of about 100 watt hours of "spare lithium ion batteries" and about 300 watt hours of "lithium ion batteries in a device", see http://safetravel.dot.gov/quick_chart.html for an approximation of the rules. The cells in these are probably rated at 8000 mAh at 3.7 volts, which is 29.6 watt hours.
Does anyone know if this unit turns itself on to start providing power when something is plugged in to it? The Anker I bought just last weekend requires you to push a button to begin charging mode, which is less than ideal when I stuff it in my car and just run the cord out of my glove box.
33 minutes in, and black is sold out already. Alright, I guess I'll take a silver! This should make up for my non-buyer's remorse for passing on the last power block a couple weeks ago. You know, the mostly purple one.
Only 158 and you declined my perfectly valid card, by the time I put in new card details you had sold out. I smell a conspiracy. Maybe I should stop using my phone to access meh :(
I, for one, am excited that, even though I checked it in the first couple of hours it's already sold. That's what daily deal sites are all about! Bein' in on the zeitgeist.
Brought my silver "purple charger" on a trip to visit family and had thought before going to bed I'd need to jump on the next chance these sold. Def a niche to stick with!
So on the one hand, Meh's selling t-shirts for $1 and acting like 50,000 members isn't enough to be viable...and on the other hand, they're selling items they only have 158 of and making $1700 for a 24 hour period. Strange business model.
Just the other day you were complaining how you didn't have enough customers and now its 830am on the east coast and you are already sold out. this isn't helping.
@mrcmjenkins1 when faced with supply and demand pricing on a small batch of product, we often chose the illogical "might as well blow them out" path. I agree this can be questioned vs selling a less exciting item with more quantity. It's a bit polarizing but I like defending the option. It reminds me of the good old days.
@snapster If you would have priced it $6 higher, it would have a meh price, it would have taken much longer to sell out in the meh sale, but you would have made almost a thousand more. Less after taxes.
In exchange for less than a grand in missed meh profits, Meh gets some very effective word of mouth. And not just in the forum here. I now have more power bricks than I need, so I will unload my surplus purple ones at the next local robotics club meeting. I used one in my robot to power the Raspberry Pi computer. The nerds were impressed and asked where I got them.
Please meh god's....More great deals like this!! This is the magic...Useful stuff, at great prices that "everyone" wants so much, you better be here when it goes on sale...or you spend the rest of the day saying "dang..I missed that great deal on meh!" In fact, your goal should be a daily sell out in a matter of a few minutes...hours at most.
The idiots that bought the other site figured it's customers were stupid, and wouldn't notice that it's simply an "outlet" store now, selling junk at normal prices. They rarely, if ever, sell out. Use them as the perfect example of what NOT to do!
Is anyone else having trouble getting their power bank to charge? I have tried 5 different cables and 4 different power adapters and at most I get a brief flickering of the charging lights and then nothing ... Wanted to know if there was some trick that I was missing ...
@oppodude It's like you're psychic or something... :( Tenergy's reply " Sorry to hear that, You can contact meh.com for any returns or replacements" And into Catch-22 Limbo we go...
@snapster If you get at least half a dozen like that as returns, my Robotics club could use them as the power supplies for small robots. The club meets at a maker space with a laser cutter, so we could laser etch the meh logo into robot bodies laser cut out of acrylic. Think of the publicity.
@zorro Same here. Left it plugged in for a few hours, nothing but all 4 LEDs blinking rapidly. No flashlight, and no discharge when I tried to get power out of the device. Already emailed Meh about a return.
@zorro there's responsibility here but often times the manufacturer both wants you to contact them versus store returns and can do more about their failings that way. We're here if they suck.
Uh oh, it sounds like I better try to charge mine up ASAP in case I need to play mehnufacturer-return-pinball (nice potential order phrase!) as well...
@oppodude I had the same issue - Tenergy responded to my email within about 12 hours, and said they would send me a new unit right away, and a pre-paid return enevelope for the defective unit.

I love these things, but I've got a more powerful one already.
Great price, but I don't need it, and I needed to get a Meh in for good measure. Meh!
The wife needed one of these, and she's my quiet-nebulous-dancer.
I think I'm changing my FB profile picture and using the last picture.
@somf69 direct image if you need it https://res.cloudinary.com/mediocre/image/upload/c_pad,f_auto,h_600,w_600/dl7psb43dsbuld9stvti.png

@kyle170 awesome, thanks
@Kidsandliz front page, last image in the product pics
@kyle170 thanks
MEH!
@sp3ar meh?
In for 3. One to keep in my purse with that TOCCs charging dongle thingy, 1 for Mr. Man, and one to replace the one I'll probably leave behind on my next business trip.
I just bought two of these from Amazon two days ago. Different brand, but same concept. Meh.
@Arsh Same here. Bought an Anker one. $25 for 3000mah :/

@hamjudo not true, i have 2 ankers, one wiht flashlight one wiht out, always in my carry ons and never once been asked about it.
@hamjudo May I suggest TSA pre-check? It's absolutely amazing.
@vampje Sure make me look up the rules. You win, these are small enough it doesn't matter unless you carry 4 or more with you at a time.
@SangminHan meh는 중국에 있지 않지요 :) 중국은 항공 배터리 배송이 금지되어 있지만 미국은 가능하답니다.

I just noticed that today's background color is purple. Nice throwback reference there, Meh. Well played.
Oh meh gawd out of black already???
Aaaaand they're all gone. Only 158 and they sold out in 45 minutes. :P
Gee - That was quick
Seems like a waste of 23 more hours of revune potential. Meh…
@Superman Or, perhaps, a well deserved rest for the staffers.
@Superman This is a marketing experiment. Meh is trying to train us to buy quickly. Will it work on the rest of you? I bought 2 in time.
@hamjudo you are quick grasshopper
@Superman maybe they just hate revune
@brandon I hate revune and I have no idea what it is.
@marklog Aye. vune - never again.
OMG.. too fast :(((((((((
Only 158 and you declined my perfectly valid card, by the time I put in new card details you had sold out. I smell a conspiracy. Maybe I should stop using my phone to access meh :(
Missed! Damn and blast, that was a good deal!
missed ..just one hour
Wow, that was quick.
how much were they? just bought the 10000mAh one on A'zones for $24
@username $10
@jimmyd103 thanks!
Boooo! Every night I'm here right at midnight. The one night I'm a little late (re-dying my hair purple) you sell out extremely fast. Bad form, Meh.
@PurplePawprints How do you blame Meh? You were admittedly late. Priorities, do your meh then dye your hair, or multitask.
@nodnetni You're right, it's not Meh's fault. The fault lies with @marklog.
@PurplePawprints I missed out as well, but for good reason...
@PurplePawprints and I was on a flight... meh.
Well that was fast...
I, for one, am excited that, even though I checked it in the first couple of hours it's already sold. That's what daily deal sites are all about! Bein' in on the zeitgeist.
it's 1AM. what the fuck?
congratu-effin-lations... you sold 158 things
@unixrab well it beats failing to sell 158 things. We are trying to keep the bar low here - something needed to be crappy about this event.
@snapster well… In that case, you're doing great: carry on. go for 200+ tomorrow
@unixrab Is that your order number?
@Doodpants I don't get it.
@unixrab The joke is that "congratu-effin-lations" looks like an order number.
@Doodpants oh. n0w-1-get-1t ;)
Maybe this is proof that a lot of people here would love to buy electronic goods as long it isn't speaker docks.
@mmurano the shitty speaker docks sell like hotcakes, who are you kidding?
I mean, that really escalated quickly.
Fastest sellout yet?
I'd say congrats on selling out, but I really wanted one. So, umm, no yay?
Wow fast sell out, I am so slow. My mom could have really used it, she hates dealing with battery life in her devices.
Brought my silver "purple charger" on a trip to visit family and had thought before going to bed I'd need to jump on the next chance these sold. Def a niche to stick with!

@thebrowncoat "Strange business model" is their mission statement.
@SSteve it was also my receipt number

easiest meh ever..... 3 day weekends make me lazy too...
So tomorrow you'll sell 65" TVs for $20 right? That would be nice.
Sold out! It's more fun not buying stuff when it's still for sale.
I've been coming back all day checking to see if you guys "found" more. This is a sick joke.
@peas This joke is sick.
@peas If you had stayed up later or gotten up earlier, you could have gotten one. Lesson learned?
@katblue 1v1 me m8 i swear on me mum's life i'll clock u one in the gabber
Please meh god's....More great deals like this!! @oppodude sounds like you're down to a finicky connection at the power bank itself. does it flicker when wiggled?
@oppodude Couldn't find anything after a quick 2 second google search. If you're still having trouble go ahead and contact us at meh.com/support
@oppodude I got 2, one works great, the other won't charge at all... I'm off to contact Tenergy support... Let's see how this goes... =\
@Serk They are going to tell you it's Meh's problem, and not theirs. I blame @studerc
@oppodude It's like you're psychic or something... :( Tenergy's reply " Sorry to hear that, You can contact meh.com for any returns or replacements" And into Catch-22 Limbo we go...
@Serk nah. I am sure we will get some mediocre ending to this.
@oppodude the ending will probably involve a black magic marker and a speaker doc
@oppodude Same here. Junk offloaded in bulk to poor saps who buy it and maybe won't bother to return it.
@zorro Makes no sense for them to do it - doesn't help their brand name. Oh well. I know this will have a meh ending.
@oppodude Meh wants me to contact the manufacturer. Sigh.
@zorro Update: Super helpful person helped me out, sending a new one and a return package. Nice customer service from them.
@snapster Apparently if I wiggle it, the connector breaks off and falls into the battery pack. Eep. Guess I will email support.
@oppodude damn I guess that was it. :(
@snapster Such is the life.
@snapster If you get at least half a dozen like that as returns, my Robotics club could use them as the power supplies for small robots. The club meets at a maker space with a laser cutter, so we could laser etch the meh logo into robot bodies laser cut out of acrylic. Think of the publicity.
Mine won't charge. A faint blinking of LED's after hours of charging. Great.
@zorro Same here. Left it plugged in for a few hours, nothing but all 4 LEDs blinking rapidly. No flashlight, and no discharge when I tried to get power out of the device. Already emailed Meh about a return.

@zorro Update- worked it out with Manufacturer they were super helpful and aI'm very satisfied!
@zorro Round 2 with them to see if they will help out. Not helpful first time. Oh well.
Round 2 has worked (so far). Apparently if you drop no one's name, it helps.
@zorro Same here - Tenergy's customer service was responsive and helpful!
Uh oh, it sounds like I better try to charge mine up ASAP in case I need to play mehnufacturer-return-pinball (nice potential order phrase!) as well...
At least one of mine is DOA. We're contacting the manufacturer?
@patti Contact the MFG. service@all-battery.com - tell them you got it on Meh.com - they should help.
@oppodude I had the same issue - Tenergy responded to my email within about 12 hours, and said they would send me a new unit right away, and a pre-paid return enevelope for the defective unit.
