“I am currently going to school and also need a laptop bag… This backpack is AMAZING the only thing it does not have is a spot for the kitchen sink and an mp3 player pouch on the strap. It has several pockets and a hidden one inside the lower back cushion. Airflow is GREAT and while it does take some getting used to you only feel a portion of the weight!!! I would buy this thing for much more than i did!!! If you need to carry books and a laptop this is the bag! if you need just the laptop and accessories than look elsewhere. If you need more i would go with the XL. Currently I have 3 textbooks, 3 notebooks, A Wacom tablet (in it’s case), a 15.6” laptop, several accessories, a change of clothes and a hoodie in mine and it’s still comfortable!!! The only time i notice the weight is when getting on/off my bike or when putting on/removing the backpack!!!" - Amazon Customer
Meh bag meh bag...guess I'll store this deal away tonight -seriously though, bought one before and actually they are good backpacks.. In addition, many people are now using backpacks as diaper bags.,.my daughter uses a backpack as her diaper bag and I've noticed that other mothers are doing the same...so maybe call them diaper packs now and sell to young mothers!,
@joelmw sympathies on the AARP part, they helped fuck up my health insurance rates and drove my provider out of the business. (BTW, I'm solidly in their age turf but wouldn't give them a dime.)
@RedOak Damn, now I feel guilty. Sorry about all of that. Truly--that it happened to you and maybe that I've given them my money. I don't really pay too much attention to their politics and had always figured it was a wash (some good, some bad), but I might be wrong.
@joelmw no worries. Not a political issue - an economic one. Both for our family and for AARP's health insurance profit motive (hard to fault them for that, but they had a conflict of interest since they claim to represent the interests of seniors).
@creativecstasy sometimes when people with purses go to the gym, park, or other places, they lock their purses in their car instead of bringing it with them.
@RedOak That's what everyone keeps telling me. I come from a much differently shaped family than I am. So I was told it would stop at 25 and then I'd look like everyone else in my family. It didn't. Then they said it would happen at 30. It hasn't so far. Hoping that trend continues.
@eeterrific It's an oversized tablet with a biggish attached keyboard and shitty battery life and without a touchscreen. But it usually has more ports and storage media options.
@Dizavid I wasn't going to grab this deal, but with my perfected level of immaturity, I may just need to jump on it. Thanks for pointing it out to me from your realm of maturity, as I was too busy giggling at Facebook memes to notice.
I kinda hope you're serious so I can mostly ignore whatever else you have to say. Emojis are immature too.
In fairness, you may actually be correct. I started using a briefcase in high school and did so through college. Arguably I was much more interested in being mature then.
It was only as I got older and started making money that I decided, "Why the fuck should I care how mature some judgmental asshole (not you in this case) thinks I am?" Backpacks are far more functional and flexible. I have several. I'm not only a white collar professional, but management even. I also wear walking shoes at work unless there's some special need to dress up. A hearty fuckit to maturity, style, income, etc. and all of that other mostly useless shit people might judge me by.
I do judge folks by their honesty, vocabulary, intelligence and sometimes their credulity (I used to be and sort of still am gullible myself; yes, I judge me).
Hm, I was about to say I got this last time and I wish I'd gotten the red. But now I'm looking back and I see it's the same model, same color. Why do you have images that don't accurately reflect the product?
@camjaney It seems to me the description is "Red/Black". Given the pictures, I'd guess that the pictures are right and the model number is wrong. Meh, anything official?
I bought the solo urban backpack for $15 about two months ago. Why the hell would u pay 10$ more for something slightly larger than what u already have
As a single mountain climbing male I find all Targus backpacks to be the absolute best!!! The amount of space in this pack is unbelievable!!! The only downside to wearing this is all the women that keep talking to me... if I have a busy schedule I have to leave it at home to avoid the attention.
I also got VMP when I bought 4 of them today in green trim... it's such a value!!!!!
@cshillaber I was really looking forward to your review. I'm sorry that you were somewhat disappointed in the product (you only used 5 exclamation points)
Did I miss the Mother's Day meh, 'cause my 82 year old mom isn't gonna be thrilled about this backpack. No offense to anyone else, because, hey, this backpack is a great deal. It would definitely hold all my audibles.
No medium pizza and no drink included---why I ask why? Is it because you aren't asking for enough "dough" for this deal? Should we ask "pizza" please when ordering this deal? Questions , questions -
edit: ohh I figured it out, they done did goofed up and put the pics from the black one from last time instead of the red trim ones from this time so they are fixing it?
I'd like to know how many pounds of stuff backpacks are designed for. Put 25#-30# of stuff in a lot of laptop/school backpacks and they fall apart. Sometimes it is the zipper stitching that gives, but usually it is the straps.
I have an older version of this backpack, and for transporting LapHenge, my 17" 26-pound CAD workstation, it's the bomb. These are huge packs that make you look like a street person, but if you seriously need to travel with a gigantic laptop they are YOUR LORD. Not stylish but comfortable, do the job, don't fall apart. My only regret is that I can't justify spending $25 today for a better looking one.
I bought this last time. It is huge. I like it has a metal wire running through the grab handle to give it extra strength. I bought it for the 15 year old for school and he likes it and hasn't complained about it in anyway so it must be good.
@dino2269 I congratulate you on being a good person.it's not easy being a single parent. I'm commenting with some level of sympathy.I have dealt with 3 , 15 year old sons and 15 through 17, I felt like one of those metal ducks in a shooting gallery. If I move they fire. It was a time of testing for my boys and I was the only target they knew was safe to try on. My comment was specious. I'm sure you will continue to have agreement on most points with your son. Good luck!
1 . Why does the laptop stick out 5/6 " ? 2. There's no holes for your legs to stick out? 3. No bouncing baby arm. 4. The most important flaw of all, where are all the loops, hooks, tie strap, rings etc. For me a back pack, after a few secure and waterproof compartments, is mostly a place to hang and attach stuff. Just saying, meh.
Sorry, TSB doesn't bring "Targus Sport Backpack" to mind, but rather Transportation Safety Board, which of course means an investigation of a nasty airplane crash.
Or Technical Service Bulletin, which is double-speak for car recall.
@osborn4 I'm pretty sure it is. I'm also pretty sure it would be less overheadbinable if it had goddamned motherfucking wheels on it.
I plan on taking my chances with it the next time I fly. I've shoved larger into the overhead bin. And it's squishy, so if you don't completely fill it (which I might) you definitely don't have to worry about measuring.
Awesome backpack at an awesome Meh.com price. Jumped on it in a second. My current backpack was a low quality Trade Show giveaway. It is tearing, not even good enough to donate. Thanks Meh.com!
I've owned more backpacks than anyone probably should in a lifetime, more because I like hyper-specific usages than any other reason. I've found Targus to be serviceable, but more of a middle-tier brand overall. For laptop/tablet transportation or general usage, OGIO is my preference. For outdoors, it's Osprey or nothing; they're the most comfortable day packs I've ever used.
Sadly Meh wouldn't recognize my address and allow me to order this backpack. No # to call so I was left in the cold on this purchase. Sadly I will being leaving Meh too. Ta Ta
Anyway to request a deal be repeated? I have been in the market for a backpack and stumbled on the site on my way to work. Didn't know if I could trust it or not.
Mine came over the weekend. It's definitely big. The Solo Active Laptop Backpack I bought here back in July 2014 fits entirely inside the main compartment of this Targus bag.
The bag has tons of compartments, and appears to be made quite well. I like the fact that the laptop compartment appears to be padded on all sides, including the bottom, which has not been the case on some previous laptop backpacks I've owned.
I'll give it a try for the commute this week. I suspect the large size will make it a little less than ideal for the bus ride, but we'll see!

Stop w the man packs!
@Stallion carry it on your head
Meh bag meh bag...guess I'll store this deal away tonight -seriously though, bought one before and actually they are good backpacks..
In addition, many people are now using backpacks as diaper bags.,.my daughter uses a backpack as her diaper bag and I've noticed that other mothers are doing the same...so maybe call them diaper packs now and sell to young mothers!,
@AttyVette manpack only approved for unused diapers
Is it compatible with my Bac?
@chacham your back will not break
meh. I graduated already. I'm done with backpacks
@boygenius1991 I'm an AARPer. I still use a backpack.
@boygenius1991 Happy Graduation!
@boygenius1991 I graduated three years ago, and I use a backpack every day. It's almost like different people have different lives and needs.
@brttbrtls whoa.
@joelmw sympathies on the AARP part, they helped fuck up my health insurance rates and drove my provider out of the business. (BTW, I'm solidly in their age turf but wouldn't give them a dime.)

Meh
Another morningsave deal? Meh
Just had my backpack stolen out of my car Friday night. This'll help.
@haydesigner ooh I'm sorry to hear that. :( there's a gang around here stealing ladies purses out of their cars around me.
@justan79 I don't understand why there are multiple unattended purses in cars?
@creativecstasy sometimes when people with purses go to the gym, park, or other places, they lock their purses in their car instead of bringing it with them.
@justan79 What are you up to that there are so many cars around you?
@JerseyFrank um...parking in a parking lot? Besides this wasn't me who had anything stolen.
If I hadn't bought the laptop bag last time, I'd totally get this
@justan79 yeah no kidding I like this one better
Hell I'd gladly trade it and pay difference if they'd let me
Bluetooth?
@thismyusername You can probably fit it into this thing.
May 4th, starwars day. Should've saved those starwars bottles for today. This is a meh for me
bad reviews... "straps fail" zipper stopped working, etc pass. meh.
@wendigee I hate when that happens
Targus spelled backwards is Sugrat
@somf69
@MEHcus almost appears you went to the trouble to make the gif of yourself.
@RedOak some what why I went with that one. That's me plus 35ish pounds. AKA when my metabolism decides it's doneso
@MEHcus from personal experience, it will happen when you least expect it.
@RedOak That's what everyone keeps telling me. I come from a much differently shaped family than I am. So I was told it would stop at 25 and then I'd look like everyone else in my family. It didn't. Then they said it would happen at 30. It hasn't so far. Hoping that trend continues.
@MEHcus Hah! I could eat as much as I liked thru about age 30 without repercussions. No longer.
@MEHcus What's up with this gesture? Where did it start?
@MEHcus that is Kelly Pickler's Husband Kyle Jacobs
As my kids say...."What's a laptop?"
@eeterrific It's an oversized tablet with a biggish attached keyboard and shitty battery life and without a touchscreen. But it usually has more ports and storage media options.
I bought this last time it was offered. As far as I can tell--and I use mine pretty heavily--it's great.
A cameo by Hank!
Another BAG? This time a backpack? The most immature way to carry your stuff unless you're hiking? Is there a "SUPERMEH" button?
@Dizavid Out of curiosity what is the most mature?
@varriform
@varriform @thisismyusername Correct, the briefcase.
@Dizavid I wasn't going to grab this deal, but with my perfected level of immaturity, I may just need to jump on it. Thanks for pointing it out to me from your realm of maturity, as I was too busy giggling at Facebook memes to notice.

@joelmw
@KDemo Once again you validate my faith and admiration. I think I'm gonna post that on Facebook.
Hm, I was about to say I got this last time and I wish I'd gotten the red. But now I'm looking back and I see it's the same model, same color. Why do you have images that don't accurately reflect the product?
@michabailey please give us a review and how much did you pay?
Picture is Red, Model Number matches Black on Amazon, and Description is Black. Which is it?
@camjaney It seems to me the description is "Red/Black". Given the pictures, I'd guess that the pictures are right and the model number is wrong. Meh, anything official?
@camjaney I just bought this based on the black with red color scheme. It better be black with red!
I bought the solo urban backpack for $15 about two months ago. Why the hell would u pay 10$ more for something slightly larger than what u already have
@msujp maybe you shouldn't
@msujp Perhaps you have something slightly bigger and it won't fit that crappy smaller version?

@radi0j0hn Perhaps it's the singular mountain he climbs?
@cshillaber You are Blessed...are you sure it is the backpack? Is there enough space for both of you?
@cshillaber I was really looking forward to your review. I'm sorry that you were somewhat disappointed in the product (you only used 5 exclamation points)

@wew yup. The motherday meh was the pearls
I think you may be alone in your perceptions of the word drifter. Too many Unsolved Mysteries perhaps.
No medium pizza and no drink included---why I ask why? Is it because you aren't asking for enough "dough" for this deal? Should we ask "pizza" please when ordering this deal? Questions , questions -
@AttyVette -- asking myself why was this picture of the pizza and drink in the backpack substituted and now this one below is in its place ? ...
https://res.cloudinary.com/mediocre/image/upload/c_pad,f_auto,dpr_2.0,h_300,q_80,w_300/voj9grmrzpphyjwngent.pngso this is "fowl" after all.
@AttyVette they clearly don't give a cluck
edit: ohh I figured it out, they done did goofed up and put the pics from the black one from last time instead of the red trim ones from this time so they are fixing it?
@thismyusername elementary my dear Watson...actually good sleuthing shall we say :) you got this one in the bag!
@AttyVette Pizzas are always kept in the horizontal plane.
@AttyVette that is a drifter, Ethel done
meh...aby, i'll sleep on it

@lhollow we can only hope for some scientific experiments caught on video for next time they sell these!!!
@lhollow This is designed for a 17" laptop. How much does a 17" laptop weigh?
@sparkyfarad my Asus ROG weighs in at 9.9 lbs.

Drifters don't use backpacks, they drive cars.
Put it over your head and you can become the unknown drifter
@gyozilla or really, really big trucks. 0:29:

How many beers'll that bad boy hold? 12 oz cans.of course...
@SputnikHQ most likely a 36 rack
What have I done? I know I needed a new backpack but Meh.com? Really?? What have I done!??!
oh look a bernie supporter!
Sorry, TSB doesn't bring "Targus Sport Backpack" to mind, but rather Transportation Safety Board, which of course means an investigation of a nasty airplane crash.
Or Technical Service Bulletin, which is double-speak for car recall.
Pass.
Would totally buy it if I hadn't already bought it last time you sold it.
Something that large could use wheels and a slide out handle.
Is this overheadbinable?
@osborn4 2big4me
@osborn4 I'm pretty sure it is. I'm also pretty sure it would be less overheadbinable if it had goddamned motherfucking wheels on it.

is this a backpack or a TMNT costume? That thing is YYYUUUUUGE
I think I reached peak backpack in my life
They should have called this one 'The Hitcher', and had Rutger Hauer model it.
I've owned more backpacks than anyone probably should in a lifetime, more because I like hyper-specific usages than any other reason. Are y'all so desperate to sell these you made it a megathread?
@DrunkCat I also wondered why this was suddenly a broadcast thread. Maybe they want people to see the reviews at the top of the page?
Sadly Meh wouldn't recognize my address and allow me to order this backpack. No # to call so I was left in the cold on this purchase. Sadly I will being leaving Meh too. Ta Ta
Meh i ordered this backpack bag yesterday.When can i receive my order.
@rambabu2016 Estimated Delivery: 5/12 - 5/14
Thank you Meh team.
@rambabu2016 no thanks for the meh customers ehh? I see how you are.
Meh team.
I received my order.It was so nice.
Thank you....
I frikin love this back pack!

I bought the 17" one of these the last time around. Love it!
But what I want to know is:
Are all those eyelets good for anything?
They seem to go to inaccessible parts of the pack
