I was kinda expecting a flurry of buys in the first few seconds, because everybody was ready to pounce on anything that came next. But so far it seems pretty reasonable.
@haydesigner Yeah, the bubbles are bigger in fountain soda. You can’t get the same in a can or from a SodaStream or whatever. My preference for specifically McDonald’s fountain soda is based on my belief that they have ice-cold filtered water, wider-than-average straws, corporate standards for pressure and mix settings, and (because of dealing in volume) absolutely fresh Coke syrup straight from the company. I just think it tastes better than anywhere else.
@haydesigner@kostia Actually, the main reason is that unlike most places, McDonald’s actually refrigerates both the water and the syrup, creating a much more pleasant tasting mix. #TheMoreYouKnow
WTF? So you open up a bunch of beers shove a tube and it sucks it out of the beers? Am I seeing this correctly? So what happens after you crack these beers open any pour beer every half an hour by the time you get this thing empty your beers gonna be flat and warm? Wow I might even get one of these
@bugger@kostia it actually says “stimulate” and theoretically it could work. Though it looks like it runs off 3 AAs so I’m highly skeptical. Also, doesn’t matter how strong the sound waves are if the beer is already flat. Ain’t no more bubbles coming outta that
@bugger The beers will stay cold with ice (it’s a cooler, after all) and it’s not required to use all 6 tubes – you can crack just one or two beers if preferred
Almost as many people BO(ugh)T a $200 IRK as this contraption so far. You’re gonna have to use all the $5 coupons for something.
As for me, missed the one at midnight (9pm PDT) by 20 minutes, wasn’t getting up at 5am to try to score one then, and by the time I checked the site again it was sold out at $65. Far too rich for my blood, but hopefully over-drafted a few cheaters’ bank accounts.
This seems like it’s the dumbest thing? Not a beer drinker but I wouldn’t open 6 diet sodas at once and stick plastic straws that need to be cleaned later. Why, meh, why?
This is, and I don’t say this lightly, possibly the dumbest product that I’ve seen. Not just on Meh. I mean, anywhere. And I’ve seen, and purchased, some extremely stupid products. But this one is a real head-scratcher
So you put the cans in, then add ice. The cans last for 3 minutes (we drink fast). You throw out the empties, and now the ice covers the bottom. So now you have to throw out the ice to fit new cans… rinse - repeat.
I think this is better for ketchup, mustard, mayo, and sauce at a BBQ picnic. You get them all at the same time.
WTaF??
OK, so it pumps the beer out of the individual bottles/cans to dispense, if I read this correctly.
What part of sending beer through an impeller on a pump doesn’t seem like a bad idea??
Can’t believe 61 people bought one of these? Will all of you who purchased this amazing item please post your email addresses so I can contact you about a once in a lifetime offer!
Off topic. I just got an email about the IRK thing. What the hell was it? I saw in IRK a day or two ago, but it was sold out by the time I came to the site.

Oooh… for enthusiasts! Is that code for people who pay $200 for an IRK?
we made it…congrats to all everyone who got their IRKs
This keeps shitty martinis cool.
@yakkoTDI and good martinis piping hot?
Yeah people are going to need beer after $200 irks.
@Kidsandliz Some of 'em are gonna need more than beer.
I was kinda expecting a flurry of buys in the first few seconds, because everybody was ready to pounce on anything that came next. But so far it seems pretty reasonable.
Preflattened beer. Awesome, mediocrebot. AWESOME!!!1!!!
POPSOCKETS! SPA KITS! POLLY POCKETS! AWESOME!
@stinks yeah, this thing is especially meh
@stinks Flattened and yelled at to get it to move its ass out of the can. Sounds way too familiar.
I think I know what a lot of people are going to be getting in the IRKs. . . is this thing for real?
I have to wonder what, if anything, this would do for soda/cola in place of beer.
@PooltoyWolf It couldn’t make it taste like a perfect fountain Coke from McDonald’s. If it did I’d pay a lot.
@kostia That would be great!!
@kostia… isn’t it basically mostly extra carbonation for fountain drinks?

…I might have a problem
@kostia @PooltoyWolf McDonald’s secret ingredient.
@blaineg @kostia Ewwwww!!
@haydesigner @kostia Actually, the main reason is that unlike most places, McDonald’s actually refrigerates both the water and the syrup, creating a much more pleasant tasting mix. #TheMoreYouKnow
@guybrush01 Yes, this too! Most places have the syrup at room temperature, which seems reasonable unless you actually think about it!
I get to see what I’m buying? No thanks

@bugger Apparently “sound waves” are used to “simulate” the carbonation.
“Sure.”
@bugger @kostia it actually says “stimulate” and theoretically it could work. Though it looks like it runs off 3 AAs so I’m highly skeptical. Also, doesn’t matter how strong the sound waves are if the beer is already flat. Ain’t no more bubbles coming outta that

I had to take a topology course in college as part of my math major. But this tapology sounds more fun.
@phendrick But can you tell your ass from a hole in the ground?
@Limewater I can tell it anything, but my ass is an ass and won’t listen to anything I say. But it brays all day long, so it’s not a dumb ass.
@phendrick Bzzt! The correct answer was, “No, but I can tell it from two holes in the ground.” Are you sure you took topology?
@Limewater Yes, I took it, long enough to learn the line: “A topologist is a mathematician who can’t tell a coffee cup from a donut”.
https://www.bworldonline.com/weekender/focus/2016/10/06/7364/when-is-a-coffee-mug-a-donut-topology-explains-it/
…why?..
hope the mfg got their money and ran.
I don’t like this.
They have APOLOGY! right in the name…
@llangley Oh, they DO!!!
You may love beer, but if you are talking sexy to your beer, you may have a problem!
@hchavers It plays Barry White songs to them?

This might be the dumbest thing I’ve seen since my mirror broke.
So… I gotta keep opening that thing and cracking a beer every time I want to pour or just accept that the last beer 9r two os going to be flat?
Couldn’t I just shake up the beer and get the same effect for free?
@Woody1 Or maybe just pour it into a glass?
So far, this is a lot less popular than a $90 IRK.
@werehatrack It’s still less popular by far than IRKs priced at more than twice as much. Most of those sold out.
First time in ages that I clicked the meh face… Just sayin’

@sdansmith But I think @blaineq had a better idea for condiments.
@phendrick That could be great, but it would be a bitch to take that to the BBQ picnic (unless you bio-engineered a living cow like that.)
I predict a cleaning nightmare and/or some funky moldy tubes.
@ekw How about both? The funky moldy tubes cause you to “clean out” your system and then you clean this machine.
/giphy why?
@Larry1977 You moon-faced assassin of joy!
Bottled beer only tastes worse than draft out of the bottle. To get a fair comparison, try drinking out of the keg.
@winfield Or drink draft in the bottle, if you can fit through the neck.
But…why?
WTaF??
OK, so it pumps the beer out of the individual bottles/cans to dispense, if I read this correctly.
What part of sending beer through an impeller on a pump doesn’t seem like a bad idea??
i would guess more likely a tiny diaphragm pump that takes 15 minutes to fill a glass.
I had to check the date. Turns out, it isn’t April Fools. Is it Meh’s anniversary, maybe? They’re f’n with us, right?
Can’t believe 61 people bought one of these? Will all of you who purchased this amazing item please post your email addresses so I can contact you about a once in a lifetime offer!
@UncleMel I’ve got a bridge (to nowhere) that you can resell to them . . .
Off topic. I just got an email about the IRK thing. What the hell was it? I saw in IRK a day or two ago, but it was sold out by the time I came to the site.
I’m so lost.
