Seems very sus that the battery is referred to as a nickel cadmium in one line than lithium ion in another. I would be very concerned that this battery might catch fire on the charger.
@murixbob In the pics, the battery shown is a Lithium Ion 1.5Ah – which only adds to the confusion.
I will doubt that it’s NiCad, however.
That all said, one big caveat with Tacklife is that they’ve pretty much pulled out of the US market ever since getting kicked off Amazon. Replacement parts like batteries may be a DIY-only option in the future.
@murixbob@narfcake If you don’t actually want the other basic tools and only need ugga dugga level 1.5, Hazzard Fraught has a lithium powered drill driver on sale for $17 and you can even get a spare battery and charger for $15.
@narfcake Due to an Opportunity I probably should have declined, I have nine cordless Ryobi drills, in addition to a Dewalt, a Bosch, and several corded and pneumatic drills as well.
I bought one of these mid-2021 when Tacklife was still on Amazon. Drill was fine but battery quit working after a few uses. Tacklife refunded me because they couldn’t provide a replacement battery. This was 18 months ago so I’m sure their ability to support their products will have degraded further since then.
I thought I read the B&D 20V battery was compatible online so I bought a couple of generics. The battery is very similar physically and identical in specs but didn’t quite fit the Tacklife drill. So I bought the B&D drill to take advantage of my good B&D batteries instead.

@kuoh @murixbob At $17 vs $15, the extra $2 for the HF drill is probably worth it.
(I’m not in the market myself; between corded and cordless, standard and hammer drill, 1/4" to 3/4", I probably have … a dozen.)
