@RiotDemon But think of all the other generic blow dryers. You could swap brand names on any of them and no one would ever know the difference. And the guts of this one are actually more like a $30 generic than a $300+ Dyson which is where it really counts. I seriously don’t think Dyson is worried.
It appears on Amazon this dryer is also sold under the Iconic name.
One reviewer says this dryer does not come with a GFCI plug.
Can someone at meh say whether the Sutra dryer has a GFCI plug? You have no full pics of the cord.
@ashemo Plenty of reviews on Amazon for the same model, different brand. Not bladeless like the Dyson, not good for ethnic/thick hair. A little similar in appearance only.
Got mine today. We also have the Dyson hair dryer. They are not the same. They simply ripped off the “design” of the dyson. This one is heavier, doesn’t have the same speeds, the motor is not in the handle. Cord is not as long. Seems to get plenty hot though.
@tsigwing I was being a bit flippant because you’re obviously comparing two very different items outside of the general appearance. You’re doing a comparison for the average person who is unable to receive that type of discount. So even if she’s getting it for $250, the normal consumer isn’t. Just saying… That does beg the question though, do you think the Dyson is good enough for most people to consider buying one if price isn’t a consideration?

This thing blows.
(Obligatory comment… It’s a little dry humor.)
Kama Sutra?
@somf69 I really don’t know if it’s a good idea to be blown dry.
@2many2no @somf69 I am willing to take that chance, depending on the blower!
Why would a newspaper have a traffic reporter?
@madanthony now we’re asking the real questions
Just FYI
These things go for about $65 or so lately. Still a deal, but $200 retail price is far from accurate.
@cajunbob I’m seeing $42 on Amazon right now. That really does make it much less compelling…

Warm/Fire/Hell?
I’m surprised that this can be sold since it seems a rip-off of the Dyson dryer.

Anyone have an idea if this is pet safe?
@SnowQuartz I wouldn’t use it on my gold fish. What do you mean by pet safe? That sounds expensive.
@SnowQuartz @therealjrn I bet he means his girlfriend.
@SnowQuartz You shouldn’t store your pet’s money or jewels in it.
Pretty blatant Dyson knockoff, complete with a Dyson-level MSRP.
What I really want to know is the proper (Kama) Sutra Blow Accelerator position for maximum … um … drying.
@hchavers Ass-up in a full bathtub.
YW
I saw the title and instinctively read it as “suck blow”. Naturally, I then thought of this classic scene from Spaceballs. Enjoy!
Even if I had hair it would be a “No from me”…
I met this girl in hollywood…

@mfladd The Iconic is advertised as 1600 watts, the Meh one is 1400?? Same dryer, different motor?
@richferg Perhaps? Except for some color changes the housing is definitely the same one.
@mfladd We just double checked. This one has a GFCI plug.
@LeviOhPlz Thank you for checking!
I can’t find my favorite pair of burlap underwear…
$65 on Joyus. Still cheaper here, but not $200
My wife has the Dyson one. Yep. REAL expensive. She also says it is the best hair dryer she has ever had. She has real long hair.
Going to pick this up just to see how it compares.
I caved! No self control.

No reviews on this thing anywhere?
@ashemo I searched this vs Dyson and found several. All positive.

Amazon link: Similar knockoff
@ashemo @Seeh2o @tinamarie1974 Those aren’t reviews, those are paid marketing blurbs. I can’t find a single legitimate review of this thing.
@susanrm - Thanks. A few discrepancies, though. It’s advertised as 200 watts, reviewers say it’s 1800, and this one is saud to be 1400.
@ashemo found one on YouTube
@ashemo Here are some comments I found on FB. Not great reviews. https://www.facebook.com/FabFitFun/posts/does-anyone-have-the-sutra-accelerator-2000-blow-dryer-that-is-in-the-edit-sale-/10156374691793611/
Does this work with 220V (with a simple plug adapter)?
@adisak Probably for a little while.
@adisak @therealjrn and then a pop and a big puff of smoke
How’s this work in the bathtub?
@coolpillows electrifying
@tinamarie1974 really!? i’m shocked
For $20, sure, but I don’t think I can swing $35 for something that blows so much.
I bought it. Meh…
Good deal.
Shipped yesterday, delivered today? My brain hurts.

@tsigwing You forgot “Is $380 cheaper.”
@cinoclav Because it wasn’t. My wife is a hair care professional and gets a discount from Dyson.

@cinoclav To be clear. I don’t have enough hair to dry. The wife (who has very long hair) claims it is the best hair dryer she has ever used.
thanks for this mehrific deal
I love does awesome job trying hair
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
Great deal I thank you so much for sharing this hair dryer,takes half time for drying my hair
