This is a GREAT deal. I bought the SPX4000 2030psi model 5 years ago for $129.99, $141 w/ taxes. This one has a slightly better PSI with the same rolling cart which is bonus to prevent tipping like the models without the cart
@Larry1977 Same here, but I paid $160. The only complaints I have are that the hose inlet leaks if you look at it wrong, and the power cord can be a bit much to manage. Other than that, it works well for the price.
I feel like I’m going to get hosed if I buy this…
There’s only 4 reviews for the 2250 on the 'zon, the rest are for various other models. There are 3x 5 star and 1x 1 star for it dying after the 3rd use. Meh.
@haydesigner i really wouldn’t buy one cheaper than this. This is a pretty good deal on one that probably works well. I like my electric one better than my old gas one, but don’t buy one that’s like $79 - will be junk or not powerful enough. You will probably have it for like 10 years, so you want something at least decent.
@pcolachiller@zachdecker I guess they didn’t like us buying them with coupon codes. Fortunately, I got one at Morningsave before they “sold out”. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.
@Kyeh decades back I sold commercial versions of these for foodservice use- one of my clients was TGIFridays & the bartenders joked about “shooting kamikazes” from 20’ out.
…then it got quiet- I looked at the corporate geek & smiled.
…then it got messy, we got hammered, then rinsed the kitchen down.
I got an order for 58 machines and one of the best sales calls ever.
I think there were maybe 10 polaroids taken- but I still have (somewhere) the company memo that states unequivocally “THESE MACHINES ARE TO BE USED FOR SANITIZATION ONLY AND ANY MISUSE WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION” .
If I had $5 for each of the many different brands and models of pressure washer that I’ve had crap out within 90 days after purchase, I’d have enough to get another one from Harbor Freight. Oddly enough, theirs have never done that to me; I reliably get two to six years from them, but I see reviews stating that apparently some samples crap out quickly. I have learned not to buy any brand that has a plastic water supply or discharge hose connection on the unit. All of the SunJoe units I recently looked at had metal connections for both. I went with the HF unit as the current acquisition because I actually don’t want an output pressure as high as this one.
@werehatrack these have a high & low end pressure knob or power mode you can toggle between. I use the low end to wash my car while the high end to clean retainer walls and side walks.
It makes this one look like quite a deal. For what it’s worth I’ve only ever owned 1 HF pressure washer, their cheapest model, and it has been going strong for like 6 years now. The big trick: always always empty the water out of the pump after every use, especially if there is a chance of freezing.
@jandrese The Bauer’s “hose reel” is a bad joke, particularly for anyone on the Gulf Coast; it requires disconnecting the high pressure hose from the pump every time that the hose is stored or extended. Disconnecting the hose will leave the pump outlet connection unprotected from mud daubers unless you want to try to keep track of the plastic shipping cap - which is likely to fall off and get lost - or stick the end of the hose back into the pump connection every single time. Even if the daubers aren’t a problem for you, the very tight coils that the reel imparts into the hose are really annoying to deal with. Basically, my view of the reel is “best not used, unroll the hose and let it relax as much as possible, and then make a hook to hang it from the unit handle loosely coiled.”
I have a Sun Joe SPX 2688 pressure washer that I bought on sale for about $75. I love it!!
I pressure wash everything! lol My neighbors think I’m nuts…but it’s fun!
The only issue is that you have to change the O-ring on the hose very frequently, but it’s no big deal.
@ACraigL Much depends upon both the filtration of the water and the dissolved minerals present. It probably won’t make a difference, if the water is safe to drink.
@werehatrack I’m good on both of those, I was more concerned about the stress on the well pump, since it’s not consistent pressure like you would get from city water infrastructure. I think the inside pipes are about 50ish psi, but if the washer request exceeds the pump’s capability, it won’t work, I assume.
@ACraigL@werehatrack I think the concern would be more about GPM for the washer. If your pump could supply at least 1.65 GPM, this pressure washer should work. The washer’s pressure should not be dependent on your indoor pipe pressure.
@ACraigL Input for most power washers is 20 psi continuous. So I’m sure you would be good to go. Also, the PW doen’t know where the water comes from. Unless you see a lot of sediment in your drinking water, the input clogging would not be an issue. There should be a screen on the input. If not,put one one on your garden hose.
@ACraigL@gageaa75 most well systems have a big tank with a pressurized bladder in it that will increase the effective delivery capability for a period of time, even when the well pump itself has a more limited capacity. So unless you’re going to run this pressure washer for long periods, your tank ought to be able to keep the flow up enough to keep the pump in the washer happy.
@gageaa75@SputnikHQ And trying to launch things with a pressure washer would often be equally ineffective for different reasons, but could occasionally have interesting failures of the “ofuckwhydidIthinkthatwasagoodidea” variety.
Well bought this although I have a gasoline powered pressure washer already at home. The gasoline one is heavy to push around so I thought I’d try a lighter weight one especially since still recovering from surgery a couple of months ago. Hopefully, this will work ok or I just blew money on a large piece of garden “ artwork”.
The dude in the camo is apparently under 18" tall. which is way out of spec for either garden gnome (too tall) or hobbit (way too short) unless that’s the military HyperSoaker wand he’s holding.

Fuck that
I feel a lot of pressure to buy this deal.
Is this enough pressure to wash away my pain?
@chiefbugbung this should cause your current pain to relocate to whichever body part you use this pressure washer on.
Seems like a good deal, I hear good things about Sun Joe products.
@PooltoyWolf I have a different model from Sun Joe. Solid brand!

Man, I’ve literally wanted a pressure washer for years! But this is still a chunk more than I want to pay for one
@haydesigner you get what you pay for and this is a great deal when I paid more 5 years ago for a model slightly weaker than this one.
@haydesigner If this price is more than you want to pay for a pressure washer, you are going to get absolute junk.
@haydesigner i really wouldn’t buy one cheaper than this. This is a pretty good deal on one that probably works well. @Commonwealth109 @haydesigner But if it isn’t powerful enough then perhaps you could use it to wash your car without wrecking the paint.
Same deal over at MorningSave. Actually $12 cheaper with VMP coupon code.
@pcolachiller got it over there- thanks!

@pcolachiller where did you get vmp coupon code?
@pcolachiller Hey, pcola. Can I call you pcola?
Like the prostitute said to the leper, “Thanks for the tip!”
I bought it from Morningsave and used a 15% off coupon. Thanks again!
@pcolachiller They now have it marked as Sold Out over there, even though it’s still available here.
@pcolachiller @zachdecker I guess they didn’t like us buying them with coupon codes. Fortunately, I got one at Morningsave before they “sold out”. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.
@pcolachiller where did y’all get vmp coupons? The ones I had were from last year and all expired
@AttyVette @pcolachiller code is VMP
@AttyVette @pcolachiller @Seeds And as a VMP you can use it for 10% off over and over.
@AttyVette @Kidsandliz @pcolachiller @Seeds I got a “spring15 code” on a “postcard” for morningsave in something I bought from meh and used that.
Time to live out my power wash simulator dreams in REAL LIFE!
@mikesmells don’t think this one gives XBox achievements, though.
the most fun way to serve margaritas from 20’ away ever.
@alacrity Please do that and post the video here for us to see!
@Kyeh decades back I sold commercial versions of these for foodservice use- one of my clients was TGIFridays & the bartenders joked about “shooting kamikazes” from 20’ out.

THE 80’s WERE EPIC!!!
@alacrity
Whoa! I wish you had videos of that!
@Kyeh back in the day, we called that “evidence”.
I think there were maybe 10 polaroids taken- but I still have (somewhere) the company memo that states unequivocally “THESE MACHINES ARE TO BE USED FOR SANITIZATION ONLY AND ANY MISUSE WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION” .
still proud of that
@alacrity As you should be!
Can I use this to replace my mother-in-law’s bidet? She was complaining of not feeling “clean”.

@werehatrack This looks like a competitor to the Bauer branded model over at HF. https://www.harborfreight.com/collections/pressure-washers/better/2000-psi-max-performance-electric-pressure-washer-56877.html

Is Mercatalyst an authorized seller for Joe’s?
According to the warranty page linked, the warranty won’t apply if not.
@PHRoG Yup, we are authorized and warranty will be supported.
Anyone know if this will work OK with a well water source?
@ACraigL If you’re retrieving your water from your well with a bucket, then no.
@gageaa75 @werehatrack thats where i was headed. We’ve only been in this house for less than 2 years and have no idea what the GPM of the pump is.
Hopefully this is still available later today when i can check.
@ACraigL @gageaa75 most well systems have a big tank with a pressurized bladder in it that will increase the effective delivery capability for a period of time, even when the well pump itself has a more limited capacity. So unless you’re going to run this pressure washer for long periods, your tank ought to be able to keep the flow up enough to keep the pump in the washer happy.
Can it do the same thing as a potato gun??
@SputnikHQ trying to pressure wash things with a potato gun would likely be ineffective.
@gageaa75 @SputnikHQ And trying to launch things with a pressure washer would often be equally ineffective for different reasons, but could occasionally have interesting failures of the “ofuckwhydidIthinkthatwasagoodidea” variety.
@gageaa75 @SputnikHQ and probably SPUDder out the first time used !!
I have a similar pressure washer and like it, but this stuff also works quite well (if you’re not in a hurry ):
The last pressure washer I bought was a Sun Joe. I believe it worked twice and died. Getting tired of crappy quality.
Well bought this although I have a gasoline powered pressure washer already at home. The gasoline one is heavy to push around so I thought I’d try a lighter weight one especially since still recovering from surgery a couple of months ago. @AttyVette Disguise it as a patio deck for the garden gnomes.
LFG

@werehatrack It’s G. I. Sun Joe!
@Kyeh With Realistic Wall-Blasting Action Stance!
Eh, because I’m going to need a unit with a bit more oomph for a short-term project, I decided to grab one of these.
