@f00l went in wanting around 4" trimmed. The guy suggested more since my hair was damaged on the ends. I agreed. Ended up losing around 12". So somewhere around two years worth of growth.
I’ll be regretting it for a while because it feels weird. I didn’t even like the last times I’ve trimmed it. I’ve kept my hair right around tail bone to classic length for several years. Now it doesn’t even reach my belly button when it’s in the front. When playing with my hair, I’d be able to extend my arm completely and still have hair in my hand. Now it basically falls out when my elbow gets just around 90°.
This is why I trimmed my hair at home for a while. I know it sounds stupid, but I feel ill thinking about it. I know at work people will say it looks good or “wow you cut so much off!” Which will be like a little knife wound. I’m tempted to wear it in a bun for a while so I don’t have to hear it. They still talk about when I chopped my hair off around 9-10 years ago. Which I STILL regret.
Ouch.i think if someone has really long hair and loves it, that persons needs to take along company as moral support and practice their Supreme Court arguments thoroughly beforehand.
Kinda like you someone give es to a dealership to buy a car in person instead of over the internet.
The hair people always wanna cut 3x-4x as much as you wanna cut. I think they can’t help it.

And have a custom t-shirt made that says something like “kill all the scissors”.
And in the meantime either go riding, or play some metal AS LOUD AS YOU CAN PLAY IT. Or both.
Later today someone with a chainsaw will come cut up the young oak tree that fell over earlier this month. He’s going to cut a few branches into walking stick lengths, and I’m going to see what I can make of them. I’ve never tried it before, but it seems a perfect use of sllender, healthy branches. The stump itself may be fun to make into a bench. The roots just rotted; some virus has taken all but this one.
