Would have liked to have seen Joe Thornton get another shot at a cup (especially against his old team, Boston), but I’ll take the Blues as a consolation prize. My boy Brayden Schenn is with them so that’s cool.
@tinamarie1974 I just caught where you said it was called a sweater. I knew it would cause confusion how I posted. I was saying I loved the shirt YOU posted. The PUCK one. I just added Boston girl because I could
LGB!! PLAY GLORIA!!! I am an official bandwagon fan now. I was a big Blues fan when I was a kid growing up in StL. I stopped watching when I left and didn’t resume watching when I came back as an adult. I’m watching now! A Stanley Cup would be awesome. World Series trophies, a Super Bowl win, now this! St Louis is a great sports town!
I grew up in North county (Florissant) back in the early 70’s, left for other parts of the US and now live in the south (central AL). Still look at the Blues as ‘my team’, though I now have a daughter in Nashville and a son who recently moved to Boston…
Hoping for a full 7 games. I would hate to see either team walk away with it…
@tinamarie1974 I’m just curious why, if you’re rooting for the Blues, you posted the most iconic Bruins victory photo of all time?
If I were prone to superstition, I’d say you were risking quite the jinx.
Full disclosure: I’m a life-long Boston-area native but have never been a sports fan, hockey least of all.
At this point, I’m almost tempted to root against Boston teams in championships, just to avoid all the silly parades and drunken celebrating that ensues.
@DennisG2014 that is a good question. So although I am a life long Blues fan, I am also a fan of art and photography. Although the pic was taken at a low point for my team, I appreciate the artistic qualities of the picture. It is actually one of my favorite hockey pics
What a series.
What a win…
Both teams did an awesome job(come on mediocrebot… don’t fail me). They were both deserving but I must say I am really glad Stanley will reside in my old home town for a year.
Now, it is too early to talk repeat…?
@mfladd thank you very much, and I do believe you! For what it is worth I felt this was an extraordinary series and both teams gave their all; both were deserving of Lord Stanley’s Cup. Of course I am thrilled at the outcome, but you can walk away proud that Boston fought hard and never gave up
