@tinamarie1974 I remember St. Louis being the worst of both worlds. F’ing freezing in the winter, too F’ing hot in the summer.
At least when I was in International Falls the summers were cool to make up for the frigid winters, and down here the winters are mild to compensate for the hot/humid summers.
I used to look forward to spring: end of winter and having to worry about water pipes and broken branches; end of dead grass (until August’s drought, anyway); bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes along the highways and byways, the general renewal of life.
March madness and the rustlings of baseball.
The time change was the twinge of pain. But this year, renewal of life is getting off the ventilator, out of the hospital alive, so a big meh to Spring, two oh two oh!
Spring is great because of the opening day of baseball, and all the outdoor music festivals, and, um, opening of amusement parks… and uh… well never mind.
Well, it is not fall or winter, but it is better than summer … so Meh

@chienfou yup, pretty damn accurate. I still love our frigid winters though. Hate the blazing summers … like 7th level of hell hot!
Some places spring is more properly called the mud season.
Spring Pros:
Hardly ever have to scrape ice off your car windows
Good for flying kites
The MST3K short, “A Case of Spring Fever” is pretty funny.
Spring Cons:
The Defcon 3 of infernal level heat
Time change resulting in less sleep
Allergies
I have a box mattresses full of them, pens with tiny ones, and a garage door with ones that can kill you.
@hchavers Don’t forget to look under your car.
@hchavers But do you have one in your step?
@rockblossom Not in the past month.

Erm spring is clean up all the winter damage and start projects but can’t/won’t do
It’s been raining on and off all day. Seems timely.
In Florida it’s basically summer or nice in the winter for a few weeks.
In the Pacific Northwet we have but two seasons: summer and fall. Spring is more or less an extension of fall.
I think it’s “the loveliest time of the year, don’t you? Of course you do!”
