I don’t have this one but one similar, my kids are 9 & 12, but man, you have to hang this sooooo high for it to not hit the ground as soon as they get on it - I’d say at least 10’ off the ground to make it even semi-challenging.
@oldmantick the one we have has a ratcheting buckle like the straps used to secure loads. I have it so tight that a, the strap has quite a ‘twang’ to it when plucked, and b, I’ve actually pulled the trees slightly together (10”+ diameter), so I don’t think it’s a tightness issue.
@mediocrebot@phendrick@uvassassin That is from The Midnight Club, and all the kids in that shot are dying from incurable diseases. It’s a strange show.

OK, so who is terrorizing the public now?
And people (other morons) still vote for these idiots?
@gwrankin@sammydog01 There doesn’t even seem to be a page there at all. The old URL redirected to one on SideDeal for a while, but it appears that the unlaunch is now fully complete.
This would be perfect for the kids at the daycare I work at (Toddlers up to 6 years old, the older kids spend half their day trying to use me as a jungle gym) but we don’t have anywhere out on the playground to put it up. Damn.
@Spheyr that’s a great idea except for the liability. I bought one for my grandson as soon as I saw it but I probably should have bought two and give the other to the daycare my daughter works at… Except liability
@oldmantick@SpheyrLiability. So, do lawyers buy these things for their children?
If they don’t, it might be because they’re afraid their children will sue them if injured.
If they do, it might be because they are hoping their children will get injured so the parents can sue the manufacturer.
@IAMIS It appears to be related to the newer buckles cutting into the main line to me, but the older buckles had a weak weld joint. I think I’ll pass on this one.
@IAMIS@tabnabber Well it is concerning the weight rating that sounds way too optimistic. And most “carabiners” you see for sale say “not for climbing” because they are for attaching your keys or water bottle. I would think one or two mountain-climbing-rated carabiners would easily cost more than this entire deal.
@IAMIS@tabnabber One might think that stuff like this would get adequately tested before it shipped, but apparently that’s regarded as an unacceptable profit limiter. It’s cheaper to orphan the current brand, remainder the crap version to a disposal discounter, and pimp version n+1 under a new name.
Are you supposed to set this up over traffic? I am not entirely sure where the “obstacle” comes in to play. The ground is, and will forever be, an “obstacle” when you are suspended from height.
Tell your kid to go climb a tree. Less pointless plastic junk.
Got mine today. I have two kids 6 and 5. They played on it all day. I was impressed with the quality of the components. I wouldn’t trust this for adults, but for my use case it is a great bargain! I don’t understand people criticizing the product because they don’t have the proper mounting options. If you don’t have a place to mount these, don’t buy it.

My first thought
What a great film! I think this clip is higher video quality than any screen I’d previously watched it on.
@ArmchairGamer The books were even better- up to the point where they became not…
What the fungool mangalagotz am I going to do with this thing?
/showme a ninja warrior, photorealistic, detailed, 4k
@mediocrebot that’s not where the staff goes
@awk @mediocrebot TWSS
Is this for cats? Those are the only ninjas at my place.
medical insurance included?
@pmarin That should be offered on Side Deal, but I couldn’t find it.
Also, they should offer extensions for the slacklines.
I’ve got that, but one is in the front yard and the other in the back yard.
@phendrick Open two windows.
@pmarin No, but I have a bad feeling based on my order number: valiant-virtual-medic

@mottzdman try a truckers hitch knot or a turnbuckle to apply more tension

@mottzdman
Kids, basketball is out of the question. What do you want me to do? Build a skyscraper?
“But, dad, it is ten feet.”
SO HIGH.
I foresee many owies in the near future for anyone that purchases this.

@uvassassin It worked! Your order number is: ungainly-pulpy-creator

@mediocrebot @uvassassin Is that the new Mod Squad?
Or, judging by their expressions, the Mad Squad?
@mediocrebot @phendrick @uvassassin That is from The Midnight Club, and all the kids in that shot are dying from incurable diseases. It’s a strange show.
@fibrs86 @mediocrebot @uvassassin
bummer
I hadn’t heard of the show.
Is that Clyde and the Bear? You remember Clint’s and BJ’s sidekicks, don’t you?
@hchavers Wouldn’t that be Philo’s and BJ’s sidekicks?
@macromeh You must be the one person who remembered the name of the character.
@hchavers Who could forget Philo Beddoe?
“Right turn, Clyde.”
Caution: It’s all fun and games until some idiot mayor decide you’re racist for hanging these up.

@Comedian And they say global warming is the biggest threat to our planet.

Came here to say I miss mediocritee. Is there a place to find shirt designs on one of the remaining sites still?
@gwrankin They were selling them at sidedeal but I don’t see any there right now.
@gwrankin @sammydog01 There doesn’t even seem to be a page there at all. The old URL redirected to one on SideDeal for a while, but it appears that the unlaunch is now fully complete.
@sammydog01 @werehatrack That’s so strange. Domains are SO CHEAP to keep up and set up a redirect. Hell, I don’t even run a website and I have two.

6% giving it 1 star on Amazon, mostly due to things snapping and kids getting injured. If it’s snapping for kids, there’s no way it will hold me.
@IAMIS To be honest this looks like something that 6% of people would install improperly.
@IAMIS It appears to be related to the newer buckles cutting into the main line to me, but the older buckles had a weak weld joint. I think I’ll pass on this one.

No throwing stars, no sale!

@KNmeh7 But falling from a Ninja Line sounds much cooler than falling from a tree.
