Spooky Goat day nine! SPOOKY CRAFTS
16SPOOKY CRAFTS
I always have plans for crafts and rarely get around to doing them. Many are for Halloween, most of them are not technically spooky (like, dipping pumpkin candles in colored wax and then carving through it to make them look like multi-colored gourds/heirloom pumpkins; that one may still happen if I FIND THE DAMN WAX DYE).
So all I have to show right now is a couple of caps I made a few years back, decorated with vintage pins:
And this painted rock I found on a forest preserve walk this afternoon:

Cool! I’m excited to melt different color crayons over the top of a pumpkin that is painted white. If only I can remember what happened to that HUGE bag of broken crayons I was given.
I miss crafting SO DARN MUCH!!
@Lynnerizer That sounds GREAT! You could even sprinkle broken pieces under the melted wax to mimic heirloom gourd textures.
Those caps are so cute!
@mikey Thanks! If you or someone you know crochet the pattern is here:

Halloween 'mingos, skeletons, twine, and some hot glue.
@kjady Those are great.
@kjady Are they racing or setting out on a quest?
@mossygreen Your choice!
@kjady
Take it you live in fl or something lol
@kjady I have decided to assume that the two sharing a flamingo are a reference to the Knights Templar and that they are questing.

@kjady Oh I love this SO much!
@Star2236 Nah, I live in Nebraska.
That rock – possibly Kiowa Art?
Maybe you should return it to the sacred burial grounds? Or risk having a headless Kiowa warrior come looking for it?
@phendrick It’s already been passed out to child as a school prize (not by me), who has in turn already reached out to the artist, and everyone is excited. So I hope there are no headless Kiowa warriors en route.
@mossygreen
I’m sure the recipient enjoyed it; I would have.
BTW, as to the Kiowa, interesting people, but I’m at least 9.99% serious in any of my postings around here, in case anyone missed that.
@mossygreen @phendrick I found a painted rock in the park years ago and occasionally swapped it out. Then I found this:
and it’s mine forever. I should paint something and replace it.
@mossygreen @sammydog01 Interesting; was that on a rock, canvas, or what?
Any idea as to what that is above the subject’s left shoulder and/or ear?
@mossygreen @phendrick It was a tile. Are you talking about Freddy’s knife fingers?
@mossygreen @phendrick I think is the back of the hat.
@mossygreen @sammydog01 Ah! I didn’t recognize either the hand or that that was Freddy Krueger.
(And I didn’t relate to the topic theme here.)
Our spooky crafting is coming in the form of treats. I found a couple of rice crispies treat decorating kits at Aldi for the @puppycat. One is for pumpkins, the other for ghost-pops.
@mossygreen Someone here is in possession (like me) of a paintable doll house from dollar night at Woot. Is it you? I keep meaning to do it up for Halloween but it’s still in the box. Maybe this year?
For those putting pumkin out on your porch,
just so you know:

And the riper they get, probably the tastier they’ll get – and provide more attractant scent.
Or, could be raccoons, possums, skunks, …
[At least have your cameras ready.
@phendrick On a related note, just how IGNORANT are people now-a-days??? [see till the end and read the inserted message]

@phendrick
@phendrick @sammydog01 Stupid twitter considers it “mature content” and wouldn’t show it to me unless I get the app. Hell with that - I found the image by googling the term, but wtf!
I got this when I was bumping Brainmist’s topic the other day
And then @yakkoTDI posted this in a Mediocretee poll:
I was traveling this summer and met the most delightful woman at a craft fair. She was a huge fan of cemeteries and Victorian lore. One of her crafts was tiny cemeteries made from old thrift store china.
Isn’t that adorable?
I’m stealing her idea and doing some stuff.
I need some more practice.
(I probably should have mentioned it’s a zombie hand because looking at the photos it’s not obvious.)
I did another one!
Sculpey does indeed make glow in the dark clay. His eyes, teeth, and the tombstone glow. Because everything should glow.
