@blaineg@narfcake My neighbor has the cutest little black cat from a shelter. I would gladly have one — though that one is kind-of a bitch (the cat, not the neighbor — not really, just likes doing its own thing and ignoring me)
I did hear that black cats tend to be more available for adoption because of the superstition thing. It’d like a black cat and a white one so they cancel each other out.
Avoid people wearing hockey masks and IF you wake up on Saturday the 14th, then it’s your lucky day! Still, try to avoid driving next to fully loaded lumber trucks or going on roller coasters.
@blaineg My youngest daughter was born on the 13th of the month (but not a Friday). It looks like she’s had 4 Friday the 13th birthdays so far (next one in 2033).
I don’t like setting anything where I pretend it’s a day in the future. I will do calendar reminders and auto-pay stuff but don’t like writing anything as if it’s a day in the future, in case I don’t make it. (A reasonable person would say well, then, it won’t really matter anyway, which is true, but I still avoid it).
There are many old superstitions in my family that mostly deal with things that are bad luck. I’m on the fence about most of them.
“Never bathe a strange cat without donning full body armor.” That seems overly cautious and would scare the cat.
“Don’t play with rattlesnakes, even if they do wag their tails and put their heads up to be patted.” That seems unfriendly to wildlife.
“The horseshoe over the door is only good luck if it is firmly fastened to the wall. Just propping it up on top of the doorsill is bad luck.” Too much extra work.
“Don’t feed the ants.” But they come in looking for food, so if I feed them, they will go away. Right?
“The dotted line in the middle of the highway is not a running path.” But it is nice and smooth and is visible in low light!
I would try to think of more but there is a thunderstorm coming in. I need to find a tree to shelter under.
I’ll go first.
Moon’s haunted.
@jouest No it isn’t. I wiped it good.
Oh, You mean the big cheese wheel in the sky don’t you.
@yakkoTDI cheese’s haunted
I probably should have worn this catshirt today:

@blaineg @narfcake @pmarin I had a “smoke tabby;” he looked all-black, but if you brushed his fur back, it was white underneath!

That meh will eventually offer a product that I am interested in buying.
@macromeh

@jouest @macromeh You did realize that everything you do will be tracked, right?

/showme a yawning irk
@Cerridwyn this bot has really been around enough that it should know the difference between an orc and an irk
@Cerridwyn @jouest Is that an orc or a troll?
Granted, not the Irk type of troll, but maybe points for creativity?

@kuoh
I was supposed to stay in bed.
Why did I click on Meh?
@pakopako oh crap, I’m still in bed! I did get up for coffee though.
One of my brothers was born on Friday the 13th. He was the one that got in the most trouble.

There’s been a lot of Friday the 13th lately.
@Star2236 I heard this was the only one this calendar year. But more in some years.
@pmarin @Star2236 Next year will have the maximum: three

@pmarin this is interesting. let’s discuss it more on June 24th.

@rockblossom i’ve used that running path!
Always loved the POGO running gags about Friday the 13th.
