@RiotD the same link to Amazon provided for the price comparison. Obviously, someone figured out how ridiculous it was to suggest this was selling for 80 bucks when it had an 80% off coupon and took it OOS. Others saw and posted on that coupon around the same time I did.
@medz It was on the Amazon page that Meh linked to. It ain’t there no more, it seems. But there honestly was a coupon you could click on that would
give you 80% off. Now they seem to have removed the price & the coupon & simply say that the item is available from third party sellers. The two listed offer it at $29.99 from one source and $70 from the other source. And goodness knows why I seem to be telling anyone far more than a person should want to know.
@gertiestn@medz-I fail to understand what all this shit about Amazon’s about. All those hoops, and y’all are already on meh, so just buy it here, save $1 & buy yourself a fn condom, or a chicken thigh, but all this clucking about this crap when most of you ain’t even buying the damn speaker anyway, so WTF’s going on?? Am I fn missing something??
My experience has been similar; I mostly use it around the kitchen paired with my ancient iPad 2 to watch Netflix. Every time an episode changes, it pauses the video because it disconnects for a bit, then if I just hit play, the video plays a double speed for some reason. Since it was cheap I get through by turning the speaker off and on (like any good IT worker should do) at the start of Ntew episodes. Pain in the butt, yes, but it’s better than the remnants of the built in speakers
@evuwisp@guyfromhawthorn Interesting, the one I ordered when they sold them in Nov/Dec doesn’t have this issue with Netflix episodes (connected over bluetooth to my iPhone X ). Haven’t tried audiobooks but no issues with podcasts either.
@evuwisp@FireMrshlBill Your eye-Phone is also a whole lot newer and more updated than my old tablet though, so it could very well be the aging iOS combined with aging BT chips, aging Netflix app (can’t be updated to anything recent), etc.
@evuwisp@guyfromhawthorn Ya, couldn’t remember what gen bluetooth the ipad 2 had. I know my ipad 3’s bluetooth that goes to a bluetooth to RCA/3.5mm adapter/receiver that I connect to PC speakers will cut out here and there, but still no issues between episodes or anything, luckily.
@medz HAHAH! I deleted that comment because I wanted to add to it… Sorry for ruining the continuity. Anyway, as I was saying, it was there and now it’s not. But it’s pretty telling that all the other Soundbox speakers are about ~$20 and this one was supposedly going for $80. Oh, hey, try this one for $3
@therealjrn Really? I didn’t notice eyeroll. As I said above, it was there and now it’s not. If you don’t believe that two different people saw the same 80% off $80 coupon and do believe that this is an $80 speaker, then go for it. If you want to buy a SoundBot speaker for $3, you can do that using the information I’ve added in this subthread
