Something my daughter wrote (her first published work)
25https://medium.com/s/story/a-teenagers-guide-to-spinal-fusion-a09ea635f52d
Hope you guys can take a minute to read it. We think it’s a pretty great take on some personal adversity she had a few years ago. She’s planning on submitting more work in the future so you can follow her or give her claps (whatever they are) if you like it.
Thanks!

You should be quite proud! While the list is about her journey… It doesn’t just apply to her surgery.
My life would be soooo much easier if stubborn people asked for help
(my husband would say that statement reflects back on me too!)
@mikibell You have no idea. She’s my hero.
@ACraigL Amazing, aren’t they? My kids are so resilient, it blows my mind.
Well written! She’s done a great job composing that article. As a publisher, I work extensively with student journalists from local high schools and colleges. 90% of what they produce is unusable. This article, however, is exceptional.
Good for her for facing her challenge with strength and positivity. And creating an interesting and informative article for others. Well done!
The father and human in me says wow and bravo. Kids are great.
The comedian in me says, “Isn’t the clap VD?”
@baqui63 hehe… I was thinking similarly!
@baqui63
Confucius say man with one arm can still give you the clap
@baqui63
Wow, beautifully expressed. You should be proud to have such an eloquent and thoughtful young lady in your family!
@mehcuda67 We are immensely proud. Thank you.
If she wants her life’s professional work to be that of a writer/communicator - she seems to be already past a good start.
Great stuff.
@f00l It’s all she wants. Thanks for taking the time to read it!
That is so great! Very insightful and she certainly knows how to engage and make the reader relate! She (and you) should be very proud!
You should really cover things in the microwave, @acraigl.
@medz I will routinely throw my wife under the bus on this one. It’s her one flaw.
@ACraigL It’s so easy to do and save so much work later.
For those that are interested, Kyra has produced and published two more pieces, one was requested to go in the site’s featured blog, called “Noteworthy”. Super proud!
You can find the two new ones, and any subsequent submissions at the following link:

I particularly like “Campus Culture & the P-word” if you only have time for one.
/parental bragging
@ACraigL
I hope she tries to get herself a regular column. Anywhere even slightly credible.
Free work or practically free work can lead to better gigs. And someone ought to want to put her words out there on a regular basis.
