2Not that there's anything wrong with that.

One commenter mentions the fukubukuro tradition outside Meh... and another commenter mentions Meh but blows it by linking to the #seligman thread here, not one of the fukubukuro threads. @studerc strikes again!

Looks interesting but I would need to see what's inside before I even thought about getting one for $40.
I'm also kinda surprised this isn't just a satirical spoof that isn't actually selling anything.
H. Jon Benjamin? In for one!
In for one. I'll share what I get in 6-8 weeks.
H. Jon Benjamin and Eugene Mirman are comedians.

This site, http://13deals.com/store/, a subsidiary of Jammin’ Butter, now offers a monthly subscription mystery box for $19.99 plus $5 S&H. I’ve bought this a couple of times, and while they’re no way as nice as the Meh Fukubukuro, I find them generally to be worth the money, but not such a good deal as to subscribe to them. They now offer Pet Mystery boxes, same price and subscription offer. I am a frequent buyer at the various Jammin’ Butter sites. I’ll often bite for one of the free items and then during check out, add on various little $1 items, especially the dollar mystery item, a $1 donation to them for shelter dog treats, their shelter.
I’ve been buying from this group long enough to feel a slight “family” attitude toward them. But it’s not near as “family” as meh or Woot. I think it’s their lack of forums.
13deals is the worst. I used to buy from them, but every order I placed turned into a problem. Lost items, poorly packaged items, broken items and then the one time I actually got a hold of someone in their customer service department, I was treated like crap. The jerk even told me if I didn't like the way they did business, then stop buying from them. I took his advice and have not bought a thing from them in over a year.
@Teripie @ I have made several purchases from 13 deals with no problems. sorry to hear your experience @somf69. sounds like @studerc used to work there
