@CatsAreGods@mehvid1 There are TWO reviews on B&H and one complains that there is only one battery included but the drone is great. The other is not in English.
@CatsAreGods I believe that’s it’s probably not a great buy for one reason or another, but when I look it up on B&H, I only find the one listing and it has just three reviews.
@CatsAreGods@mehvid1 up to 27 minutes of flight time per blabbering. Sure hope it’s not a big pile of crap or it’s going back!!! I sure don’t need Another door prop.
@w3kn Okay, but… there are only THREE reviews on B&N and two appear to be from the same person/persona…. (Not that I put much faith in Walmart reviews.)
@arfdawg@mehvid1@w3kn and further complaints that replacement batteries are not available even from the manufacturer. If you’re good with stuff like this you could probably make some other battery fit, but I am not so…
@ambimb@arfdawg@mehvid1@w3kn Sounds like either mod it to fit different batteries or send it back. Can’t even get a battery for it. Sounds like Meh should have secured not only the drones but extra batteries to go with em. Come on Mehhhhhh!!
I just want a more controlled drone that might be able to check the property. So I don’t have to walk through it all the time. This was sounding good until people pointed out the reviews
Reviews are all over the place but some themes are camera either doesn’t work or it has no gimbal and can’t get a good picture or video. No replaceable batteries. Instructions don’t match what it can “actually” do. So I’ll have to pass and I’m looking for a drone. But it has to take decent video & pics. Sorry MEH I’m MEH on this one
Hey MEH. Maybe an updated story with some guarantees on this drones bad reviews would help? We need some guarantees this thing won’t suck donkey ass. I already have shitty video drones. Don’t need another. Help me help you MEH. Also, “you can’t handle the truth” just always wanted to put that in a discussion sorry
@dalekjoe I watched some of it with the hope to see how much lag there was in the video feed to the phone. At about 8:50 he launches the drone and it takes about a second for the display to indicate that. I don’t think that is responsive enough to navigate using the screen. Of course that could be a sync issue between the head mounted camera and phone screen recording. I have the $29 Snaptain drone and it has this delay as well.
@dalekjoe That video persuaded me to wait until the budget could support a significantly better unit, although I had already decided not to buy one today regardless.
@ACustomer I’m confused. Did you want them to make “simple-minded dirty remarks,” or are you against them?
I thought you used to [pretend to] complain about such remarks, but now you’re sad that no one has said anything yet?
I love these design geniuses that make everything camouflage so when it inevitably crashes in the wilderness you’ll have precisely zero chance of finding it unless it’s burst into flames.
@tweezak these probably have lithium batteries that are of sufficient quality to give you a very good chance that it will burst into flames before it crashes. Maybe even before it gets to your porch, who knows?
27 minute flight time? You’d have better luck finding ice water in hell.
My Mavric Air only gets 45 minutes and that’s with a 5,000 mah battery I really wish they’d stop scamming people who are familiar with these batteries and stuff by lying about how good they are ect.
If I stopped just one person from buying this hunk of plastic and getting scammed I’ve done my job
@ThyProphet Meh’s selling spheal caims 1800mah for 17 or 18 minutes, but it came with a 3400mah battery I’ve since been on the search for extra batteries. Ugggh
Your biggest problem is there are no prop guards. Likely why it’s here. Most entry midrange models have because any place outside of a mowed field will have a small twig or stick to shear that blade or frag just landing wrong. Open blades, better have two dozen spares not included. Local hobby shop never heard of this brand and no stock of props.
@craigcush Which is especially weird since I bought one of this same brand when Meh offered it last year, and that one had (kind of annoying to install, frankly, but very much there) prop guards.
@craigcush@kensey And if I recall correctly, installing the prop guards materially reduced the flight time. Perhaps what that’s why they aren’t included in this one, or at least are not mentioned.
@craigcush There’s always a reason these sorta things popup on these bargain clearance sites. Tho I’m pleasantly surprised it wasn’t a tiny piece of junk. It looks decently sturdy. I believe I need to find some replacement blades in 100 packs. LoL
@arfdawg There’s also a thing called snark, you might want to quit that before you prove conclusively that you’re a d!ck. Yes, batteries cost more than this drone (here) and most locations are out of stock on them.
@Jonas4321 eBay has them Sparky. I doubt you actually researched other sources because all you like to do is complain. And you’re way ahead of me in the “dick” category. As well as the “Anger Management Issues” category.
@arfdawg The best price for that battery on eBay is $56 plus tax and shipping, which totals more than buying a spare complete drone here, as had been correctly noted before. In other words, spare batteries for less than the cost of the complete drone are not available on eBay - which, had you done more than just run a quick search, you’d have known - and if you’d read what had already been posted, you’d have realized that others had already checked. And if you’d actually done more than just snarkily show how little effort you’d expended, you might have found out that a different source claims to have extended-capacity battery packs for $37 plus shipping, at MaximalPower. (I have no idea whether those packs are really “extended capacity” or just “inflated claims”; the latter is so common as to make me inherently suspicious.) But it really looks like being helpful wasn’t what you were after.
@werehatrack Funny how I was able to find them cheaper on ebay AND for $24 elsewhere. But then, I’m not an arrogant twerp like you. Good luck with all your complaining. I’m done laughing at you, not with you.
@detailer@sjk3@yakkoTDI Actually, a replacement pack with a claimed higher capacity is for sale at MaximalPower. Maybe it really has the stated specs. And maybe it just has hyperlumenitis.
@detailer@sjk3@werehatrack@yakkoTDI Meh had some typo’s in their product info. It’s wasn’t a 1800mah battery, it actually came with a 3400mah battery. I’ve yet to find a spare. The battery found on the Max site looks to fit But the connection wires will be in the way and from the photos not sure if it has the slot connection terminals
So, I own one of these drones and I really like it. It gets about 18-20 minutes of flight time on a battery. I think it is an excellent trainer- it is super rugged. The camera is in a fixed mount and so not as fragile as cameras that are mounted on gimbals. I paid something like $189 a couple of years ago and bought some spare batteries. I still use it when people want to fly a drone and I don’t want them flying my Mavic.
@paulskrtic Wonder if it’s modable to a 5000mah battery or maybe even a 6000mah.
More mah but also more weight added. Use some command strips to stick that puppy under it or maybe some Velcro n duct tape! The handyman’s secret weapon.
@oldmantick if you’re going to want to flay a lot at one time I’d buy a couple extra batteries as to have a couple charging while flying. Supposedly 3 to 4 hours to recharge which sux
Ironically, if you’re going to buy one of these, at this price, it would seem the smart thing to do here is to get 2 or 3 of them for spare parts.
2x spare batteries from Walmart run you $100 (or one for $59 from eBay.) Spare props run about $20 for a set of 4 on eBay.
Personally I wouldn’t have considered this, but video review @dalekjoe posted made this seem significantly better than any of the other cheap drones I’ve purchased. But then again, ultimately, it’s still just a cheap drone.
@Rosario4me Anyone flying a drone needs to take a free online TRUST course. (google it)
In addition, if your drone weighs over 8.8 oz. you need to register it on the FAA Drone Zone website. (google it)This one weighs about 3 lbs if my google search results were accurate.

My understanding is that the restrictions are on flying in public spaces, in private ones without the property owner’s consent, or above a very low altitude. Those are becoming more common everywhere. Much also depends upon whether the drone has an FCC type acceptance; without that, the transceiver system is not legal to operate in the US at all.
@Rosario4me@werehatrack I have not returned much to meh but I have never had a bad experience with a return. But I think Rosario4me was contemplating whether to cancel their order within the “Window of Remorse” that Meh gives you to come to your senses. I think it’s about an hour. Maybe less, but you can cancel for a little while before the order is finalized.
You can also email meh and ask them to cancel. They have done it for me. But they are getting things out the door pretty quickly these days so don’t dawdle.
@Trinityscrew@werehatrack All good, I have never had an issue with anything I have gotten, I think I was overthinking this. One way or another, will enjoy this product.
My perception with drones is buy DJI or build an FPV. Everything else is playing catch-up. I’ved used DJI and had holy stone and other drones from $25-$300. They’re all crap.

And they just keep droning on about how good the deal is.
Not great reviews. Sounds way better on paper.
@CatsAreGods 4.7 isn’t a good review rating? Biggest complaint seems to be battery life, FWIW.
@mehvid1 I looked it up on B&H Photo. It was nowhere near 4.7
@CatsAreGods
@CatsAreGods @mehvid1 There are TWO reviews on B&H and one complains that there is only one battery included but the drone is great. The other is not in English.

1.3/5 reviews on B&H. But a lot of good reviews at Walmart:

What’s an advanced 2k camera?
2015 buzzwords?
@thechinglish 2.7K! that’s 3K if you round up
@outz @thechinglish That’s a lotta Ks! Wait a minute…
Well, I haven’t bought a drone in awhile.

Still… For $50… Maybe…

@phendrick true dat
@bugger @phendrick But it might explain the current mental state of James Woods, so there’s that.

Hey MEH one more thing!!! Have a nice day
You don’t want me trying to fly a drone, and this drone is too cheap to have a good AI to fly itself.
@dalekjoe Thank you for the link. Good review.
@dalekjoe I watched some of it with the hope to see how much lag there was in the video feed to the phone. @ConcealedPsycho Job done!
@ConcealedPsycho Consensus on this is “avoid”, which fits my budget, too.
@ConcealedPsycho OBTW, according to Dante, the Ninth Circle is frozen solid. So, still no water, just ice.
@ConcealedPsycho Their web site (https://snaptain.com/products/snaptain-sp700-gps-drone) claims “Your flight time can be extended to 18 mins with its modular high-performance battery.”
@HankB33 Gosh, that runs the excitement level up a bunch, maybe even far enough for deep-scan sonar to return a beep.
@ThyProphet Meh’s selling spheal caims 1800mah for 17 or 18 minutes, but it came with a 3400mah battery I’ve since been on the search for extra batteries. Ugggh

No spare batteries. No spare props. Nope.
@Jonas4321 Spare batteries are $50 and come with a free drone and remote.
@Jonas4321 batteries are on ebay and other online sources. try searching. there’s this new thing called google that might help
@arfdawg There’s also a thing called snark, you might want to quit that before you prove conclusively that you’re a d!ck. Yes, batteries cost more than this drone (here) and most locations are out of stock on them.

@arfdawg Links?
@arfdawg
I’ll save you the trouble. There are exactly two eBay listings for a Snaptain SP-700 battery. This one for $69.99 plus shipping and this one for $55.99 plus shipping.
@werehatrack So sorry you are not adept at research. You have real psychological issues. Get some help.
@arfdawg Links, or you’re the one with the problem.
@werehatrack LOL. Thanks for the biggest laff all day. Too bad it was at your expense. Good night Chuckles.
@Jonas4321 it had a few spare props in the box, tho someone @ Meh put in a ginormous box with absolutely NO packing. Bet it had one hell of a ride!
But can it drop hand grenades into the foxholes of invaders for internet points?
@sjk3 If it could lift a grenade, it could lift a bigger battery and get more flight time.
@sjk3 @werehatrack Upgraded replacement batteries on sale here tomorrow, and assorted grenades on Wed. Stay tuned for more.
@detailer @sjk3 @werehatrack No, upgraded batteries on sale at Morning Woo…I mean Morning Save so you can’t use your Irk coupons.
@detailer @sjk3 @yakkoTDI Actually, a replacement pack with a claimed higher capacity is for sale at MaximalPower. Maybe it really has the stated specs. And maybe it just has hyperlumenitis.
@werehatrack Most likely. I hear it’s spreading faster than Monkeypox.
@detailer It’s been around a lot longer than SARS-Cov-2 and Monkeypox combined, and each new variant gets worse.
@detailer @sjk3 @werehatrack @yakkoTDI Meh had some typo’s in their product info. It’s wasn’t a 1800mah battery, it actually came with a 3400mah battery. I’ve yet to find a spare. The battery found on the Max site looks to fit But the connection wires will be in the way and from the photos not sure if it has the slot connection terminals
So you have to feed it pizza to keep it airborne?
@blaineg I didn’t know that pizza gas was lighter than air…
So, I own one of these drones and I really like it. It gets about 18-20 minutes of flight time on a battery. I think it is an excellent trainer- it is super rugged. I still use it when people want to fly a drone and I don’t want them flying my Mavic.
@paulskrtic where did you get the batteries?
@bizzaregood I think I ordered them from Snaptain directly, but to be honest, I don’t remember for sure.
@paulskrtic Wonder if it’s modable to a 5000mah battery or maybe even a 6000mah.
More mah but also more weight added. Use some command strips to stick that puppy under it or maybe some Velcro n duct tape! The handyman’s secret weapon.
Some of the sellers providing replacement batteries for this thing want more than the selling price here on Meh for just the battery.
@werehatrack So you’re saying to buy two just for the backup battery?
So obviously you need to buy 2 for spare batteries and props
@oldmantick if you’re going to want to flay a lot at one time I’d buy a couple extra batteries as to have a couple charging while flying. Supposedly 3 to 4 hours to recharge which sux
Video Resolution: 2704 x 1520 @ 20fps
20fps??
@pixelated That looked like <4fps in the video footage, but maybe he video on the SD is less hacky.
@bakerzdosen I agree!
@bakerzdosen Too late now Meh is sold out. LoL imagine That. Not much on flea bay.

Why not…

I just picked one up but now might return. I live Outside of DC and I know they Limited these regardless of quality. Double checking now!
@Rosario4me Return things from meh? Blasphemous!
@Rosario4me Anyone flying a drone needs to take a free online TRUST course. (google it)
In addition, if your drone weighs over 8.8 oz. you need to register it on the FAA Drone Zone website. (google it)This one weighs about 3 lbs if my google search results were accurate.
And periodically, there are “No Fly” restrictions set, typically within a 30 mile radius of DC. As for flying a drone IN DC, I don’t know about any of that.
@Rosario4me Meh does not accept “buyer’s remorse” returns.
@Rosario4me @werehatrack I have not returned much to meh but I have never had a bad experience with a return.
@Trinityscrew @werehatrack All good, I have never had an issue with anything I have gotten, I think I was overthinking this. One way or another, will enjoy this product.
@Rosario4me I’d buy it from ya but shipping has become insane
My perception with drones is buy DJI or build an FPV. Everything else is playing catch-up. I’ved used DJI and had holy stone and other drones from $25-$300. They’re all crap.
Non-FPV are just 1-use toys or cameras. And as with all cameras, you get what you pay for. DJI’s have nice cameras and features to make them useful. The rest you’ll fly around the house/yard for an hour and never use again.
FPV seems to be where the hobbyists are. There are quality options from $80 to $500, but you have to learn to fly FPV (say a week in a flight sim with a real drone controller).
The Side deal is pretty decent tho…
Does anyone know if this has 5.8GHz FPV (for headsets) or just 5GHz wifi for streaming to a phone?
@finfer123 Given that the specs anti-precisely say “5G WiFi” when 5G is a phone communications standard (and the 5n WiFi is 5GHz ), and since they don’t mention headset direct connectivity at all, I’d assume that no, it’s not supported, and that no, the brand holder that’s marketing the unit here has no clue about the real tech details in any event. I’ve run into so many “we’re just selling them, we don’t have a clue what they can do” outfits pimping 27th-generation-clone chabuduo crap in the US that I expect an utter lack of support and a dramatic lack of critical capabilities with things like this.
@finfer123 @werehatrack I have no idea what you’re saying, but believe that it is actually true
@finfer123 @werehatrack 5ghz has a much shorter range than 2 4ghz
I’ve never made a purchase here before based solely on the description…until today! Can’t wait to get it and have it follow me around like the birds in Vampire Survivors
@rmcclel as long as it doesn’t fall out of the sky while it’s following you. LoLoL
“What manner of dark sorcery is this box that can speak?”
And from the other side…
“Ye ghods these people are easily impressed! This primitive gear they’re using wouldn’t even interest a museum!”
The last thing you want is a camo printed drone. If it fails to return, you’re never finding it. It’s hard enough with a bright silver like DJI’s drones are.
Does it come with $50 worth of entertainment value in the atrociously translated “Guide User”?
Sold out now, so (not) sad. It’s amazing how much I save by not buying things here.
@werehatrack Not sold out yet, from what I can see.
@blaineg Weird. Still showing gone here.
I failed the metric math, how far is 500M
@somf69 Half a kilometer.
@somf69 Or about two and a half furlongs.
@somf69 Or about 16.2 femtoparsecs.
@somf69 Or about 937 long cubits.
@somf69 Or about 1.667 light-microseconds.
Need some SPARE batteries Meh!! I got about 14 flight minutes out of it
Soooooo whom has modded a 5,000mah or 6,000mah battery to it
Got my drone put it into the air and it did not crash. $50 worth of playtime so far.
Do you have more available to purchase??
Maiden voyage for mine: Got it in the air, it lost communication with the controller, started randomly flying straight up about 60 feet, started drifting away, hit a tree, and crash landed in the woods. Couldn’t find it. Money well spent!
@w3kn should a put a tracker on that thing, i have just a few around if you need one
gooood stuff! was worried about possible “restricted” air space in the area but wasn’t a problem.
I wish I could order another because it was really a good purchase!
