While I browse SD daily, it’s the last place you want to advertise a site like Meh. All that’s gonna happen is that we’ll get swarmed by a bunch of casuals who will buy everything out (at the expense of the regular members - it’s not like the items wouldn’t sell otherwise), but will then start posting negative reviews and filing BBB complaints because they don’t get this site, and never will, because their baseline shopping experience is getting an instant refund from Amazon because their package arrived a day late, or the box has a scratch on it.
@ShotgunX I used to be a relatively frequent poster on Fatwallet (comments as well as deals). SD was originally the favored hangout of the trolls, assholes, and general internet-karen types. After FW went away, SD has gotten even worse in that regard. I don’t often post there anymore, and I certainly wouldn’t be sad to not see the SD types pollute Meh… I hope Meh picks up a few new regulars who get Meh (and buy a lot). Everyone else can stay in the SD cesspool…
SD: ever since I started checking it out a bit; quickly learned I just had to ignore 80-99% of posts, depending on topic.
Some of the garbage is simply cluelessness/laziness. Some of it is trolls. Some of it is newbies. Some is just the usual internet jerks who just have to be L O U D.
But in targeted topics there can be some good q/a info. And a few ppl that are knowledgeable hang out answering q’s in certain areas.
@f00l@ShotgunX I still check it frequently, and I definitely appreciate the useful posts. If I have something meaningful to add, I will also post. It just isn’t a fun place though.
@DrWorm bought your mom that necklace you hated.
Heh, I’m in that thread now.
Upvoted and repped!
@shahnm thank you for your comment to help the confused over there.

A lot of people don’t get it. I pity them.

I signed up for the free trial, but the code is not working.
Is it expired? Did the code never exist?
@PastaDrop are you using code NEWMEMBER20? What sites did you try to use it on?
@RiotDemon
Yes. Or rather, I’m trying to.
PastaDrop and Meh.
@PastaDrop ok. Hang on.
@PastaDrop I looked and you’re signed up for the Free Trial. Looks like it worked.
@Thumperchick
It’s telling me, however, that the coupon code isn’t valid.
@PastaDrop that’s because you already have the trial. It won’t show as active if you’re already a member or are a past member.
@Thumperchick
So there’s no way to have the trial AND use the coupon?
Because I was under the impression that after becoming a member, the code would work for the first purchase on each site.
@PastaDrop I missed that you were using a new member code. Let me look into this.
