Sleepless In Saigon

Greetings from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) where it is currently 4:00am.

Part of what I look forward to as the new Meh writer is traveling. Turns out you can snarkily write about products from anywhere and I’m hoping to take full advantage.

I’ll be in Vietnam for a few weeks, mostly Saigon. It’s my first time here and I’m looking forward to:

Anyone been here before? Any recommendations? I already killed a giant cockroach in my bathroom so check that off the list.

I read the request for recommendations but don’t need any for killing cockroaches, and that you are only looking forward to food, as meaning you killed the cockroach for food. So how was it prepared and did you enjoy it?

- @mollama I would think cockroaches are nasty as food as even my cats won’t eat them. They just play with them and then kill them. They have all tried it and then puked up the cockroach.

If they have iced coffee there, get some if you drink coffee at all- the iced coffee at the restaurant I go to is amazing, and it’s not available anywhere else.
Also, get some noodle bowls.

Well, I spent about 3 weeks in Vietnam about 8 years ago, but when I looked back at my emails during that time, the only food I raved about were the baguettes for breakfast! So, yeah, I suck. If you have any questions about things to do there, besides eating and cockroach killing, I’m happy to help.
