1x Singrix Family Bundle Karaoke System (Refurbished)
Here’s a Fun Fact for You
Season 2, Episode 11 of The Simpsons features a karaoke scene, where a man named Richie Sakai sings a powerful rendition of Cher’s “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.” Interestingly enough, the karaoke singer’s name is, in fact, a reference to the name of the show’s producer, Richard Sakai.
@mike808 ok, I went and find the picture and will retract my doubt. She’s definitely the better looking sister of Irk. But I bet she can’t belt out Avril Lavigne tunes like today’s sister can.
The Amazon price comparison is (surprise!) a highly inflated one, but when they were selling refurb family bundles on their website, they appeared to be asking $299 for them. This seems to be a legit good deal if you’re in the market for this kind of thing.
Just to clarify, there is only one mic (with the HIT! button) with this kit, yes? and that button only works on the input 1 channel? Looks like any reasonable corded mic would work with the second input.
And does anyone know if this thing has a line-level output? The write-ups and spec sheet only mention hooking up extra speakers, so maybe this won’t easily connect up to a mixer or external amplifier.
Maybe I am expecting too much …
/giphy expecting too much
Can I use my PA or other sound systems with Singtrix®?
Yes! Singtrix® can be used with a professional PA sound system. There are (2) audio outputs, so (2) speaker systems can be used at the same time, including headphones.
Note that higher quality sound reinforcement is recommended and will allow Singtrix® to perform optimally. Using Singtrix® with a headphone will give you the purest Singtrix® sound quality. Use this as a baseline comparison when deciding on which secondary speaker system to use.
Kind of vague, but maybe … as you might tell, I am debating internally about it. Last thing I want is (another) one-trick pony component that won’t work with other standard audio equipment.
@stolicat one mic included, vocal effects (and the hit button) do only work on the mic 1 input. I read in a review somewhere that some generic mics are not as sensitive as the official mic so come through with low volume.
All the documentation says two speaker outs but I’d bet on those 1/8" outputs being line level. The speaker systems for both this bundle and the newer party bundle look like they are powered on their own (and require their own power supplies). They also mention you can use the system for recording so that would also infer that those are line outs.
I’ve been on the fence on this one for a while now. I sang well as a kid, but became tone deaf in adulthood. I’m not ever going to be on American Idol or the like, but maybe if I could at least be filled with the illusion that I could sing, I might be able to fake it long enough to no longer be the person who can clear a room on karaoke night. Great price, but quite a few reviews saying there are some quality control issues… Decisions, decisions… Fuck it! (There’s another one for the bot to count for Carl…)
@ciabelle Are you sure you could sing when you’re a kid? Could it be you’ve always been terrible, but you’re an adorable kid brave enough to sing and everyone praises you despite your crackling voice? Not trolling, just work with kids and 99% sound terrible, but it’s still cute.
@goldnectar I sang in church choirs and chorus at school with the occasional duet. I could harmonize at the drop of a hat. I can’t imagine they all wanted someone warbling off-key for all of that.
I did karaoke at a New Year’s Eve party a few years ago, it was a huge hit. Unfortunately I did not have the best setup, been wanting to get a SingTrix setup ever since then. Not familiar with this particular unit, but lowest price I have ever seen for any SingTrix product. I’m in! First purchase from Meh in a long, long time.
@UncleMel from what I’ve seen the singtrix box and mic alone (the orange part of this kit that’s the vocal processor and music mixer) sold for $209, but they don’t sell it outside of the party bundle anymore.
This thing seems pretty advanced but I think the market for people who will drop $300 for a home karaoke setup is pretty limited.
SingTrix?? And you missed the opportunity to make a joke about a, uh, ‘-trix’ as a suffix. As in DOMINATRIX? I mean what about some futuristic scenario where, like, this really mean dominatrix who has been so cruel to her sub who happens to be a mad scientist guy and then she stoops too low and insults his mad scientist creds (“Where’s my little whiny Stanford PhD now?!? What good is your little lab with beakers and Bunsen burners now when you’re all hogtied!?!”) and then he turns on her and converts her into a karaoke machine. SO much more meaning and layer compared to some embedded YouTube videos and actual product details.
Is there any stored songs, or do you have to have an internet connection? In other words can you use this successfully in a remote cabin with no cell service?
And whaddya know, sold out there aren’t any more until next time! Wonder what the practical limit on karaoke machine purchases is. And how long to replenish.
@AmazingChicken No telling if they’ll get any more. There were several people that bought 3, you might check eBay soon.
You can also buy the party bundle new direct from singtrix for a better price than the Amazon comparison link, although it’s about triple what it was here.

Oh sweet! Let me sing it for you. AAND IIIIIIII-ee-IIIIIIII WILL NEVER BUY YOUUUUU
I didn’t know Irk had a sister.
@djslack His other sister pimping the weighted blankets was way hotter.
@mike808 I didn’t bother looking that day. I’m not sure how I feel about your statement, though. I guess to each his own.

@djslack, maybe, he does, but that was his mother, Mothr Irk!!
That shark tank video sounded like garbage.
@medz Do-do, doot-do-do, do-do
/youtube baby shark remix
@Barney
HIT that effect!
I do not require this item in my life, yet I love that I live in a world in which I could purchase this if I were to so choose.
I mean, I won’t though.
But I -COULD-.
Soooo, to be clear, unlike in the product photos, this thing doesn’t actually have a screen?
@curtise product photo assumes you have a tablet
Also, I guess Seven Bridges Road would be a decent truck commercial song.
No photos of the 2.1 Home Theater Speaker System? The specs sheet makes it seems like a separate thing.
@medz the cabinet is the speaker. The actual singtrix box is the little jobby with knobs sitting in the top of the cabinet.
You can see it more clearly in the party bundle: https://smile.amazon.com/Singtrix-Bundle-Premium-Karaoke-System/dp/B00JBJ2HNO
@medz I do see the spec sheet shows a photo of a separate subwoofer, but the speaker system says the sub is built in. That’s weird.
HUGO SINGTRIX
I like how the one singer is even pointing at the issue in this photo.
@RiotDemon you mean that’s not just really fluffy carpet?
@djslack @RiotDemon no they are on a cloud…but a real cloud. much easier to stand on a cloud when you’re suffering from knocked knees
@RiotDemon drats was hoping this was in ref to the unconnected microphone in person at right’s hand…

Wow, the email is out early today.
Based on the Amazon reviews this is still to expensive!

@coolpillows you should write stories, you have a vivid imagination!
