Ummm… there are some people who paid, what was it?, a hundred dollars for one some months back. There are sure to be enough crazy people to eventually sell them all out if they keep adding them over the event.

Just for grins, I got the $40 IRK and tried ordering another IRK to see if their system would block me out. Well, $35 IRK went through!

What does that mean? One order later gets cancelled? 2nd order is a pallet of TrackRs as punishment for trying to game the system? Or two standard IRKs with double the regret for $75 because both are longer to ship than normal?

@jaybird I wonder if the one that will./should eventually show up on “black as our hearts” will be a photo of an irk in a black bag vs the yellow… or if people who buy that one only get black products and a black bag. Cool if these irks are themed depending on which category they show up under.

I heard a rumor work is good for you. (Besides you likely don’t work in the warehouse so not more work for you personally ).

It would be less work to make one irk from each category themed and in the black one throw in a black irk bag. And then make that a “winning” irk for each version people are buying. That would cause envy, desire, and regret for not buying. I mean these are about regret right? Not just regret after buying.

@braveit1 Back in the 80’s 90’s (yes, previous century!) when I worked in an office and we’d go out for lunch, back then people used cash (what??) and a big problem was that everybody only had $20 bills which is standard ATM issue (not sure, but probably still is). At the time there was a term “Yuppie food stamps” for the $20 bills. That was back when “Yuppie” was a word. And lunch cost less then $20.

@pmarin I went to dinner last night at a local pub called Culhane’s. (The venue was actually featured on an episode Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”.) It’s not a fancy place and dinner was still $30 with just a soft drink and Shepards Pie.

@braveit1 I suppose “Guy Fieri” gives it a +1 or +2 just by name, and included in “Dives” probably at least another +1 since that’s kind of trending now.

EDIT was the Shepard’s Pie at least good? Lamb meat or beef? Decent potato top? Fresh peas or canned? If it was good stuff I wouldn’t mind the price. I remember a restaurant about 30 years ago and their Shepard’s pie was somewhere around $15.

@pmarin the pie is made with “Certified Angus Beef” ,carrots, onions, peas, stewed in a sweet Guinness gravy and topped with whipped potatoes, then topped with cheese. FWIW. It’s delicious and I’ve been going there for years ehen it was a real dive bar before it was on the show. Culhane’s I remember going there and the pie was a lunch special for $7 back before 2008. Of course I also member when Tony Roman’s Ribs had a 1/4 BBQ chick white with 2 sides lunch special for $5 and Dave & Busters had the $10 lunch specials with $5 play card around 2000.

(since they say it takes a while to ship, no danger of getting two broken vacuums or bluetooth speaker docks – just one broken item per person; that’s the rule!)

If you’re able to see the image that my Avast Antivirus is blocking, you may want to scan your system (just to be on the safe side). I don’t know what kinda threat it poses but apparently Avast doesn’t think I should see it!!

EDIT or maybe the lawyer site is actually infected but they don’t have any I.T. skills, because, lawyers. Reminds me that was one of my career roads not taken – technology law. This was right before 1980 when I was choosing a college and major field. Turns out it might have been a good field, but I was much more interested in the tech than law.

@lonocat In the 90s on the big motorhome trip, spent about a week near Amish country, West of Philadelphia. My wife wanted to check out a sewing/knitting store and they definitely have those. There were oil lamps hanging from the ceiling for when it would be dark. It was daytime in Summer so they were not on. Walked around a little bit. The people were not too scary.
Funniest thing was at the Costco there were several large parking spots near the door for horse cart parking. It’s always a goal to visit any Costco I haven’t been to before, but that was a first.

@lonocat @pmarin I have always, for some reason, lived near large Amish communities (Michigan and now Wisconsin). I shop at an Amish-owned store almost weekly. Unfortunately I also hear about the buggy/car accidents when they happen too and it’s never a good outcome

@heartny @lonocat That happened with a fuko and the USPS guy. It was a box for an all-in-one computer that actually contained an all-in-one computer. Except the styrofoam had been removed and it was rattling around in the box with some other junk. It was the only time he didn’t ring the bell. Poor guy.
