Still well worth the price, though it appears that a very small percentage of them may come through DOA due to the length of time they’ve been sitting in the warehouse. If that happens, SideDeal’s support has your back. Hook up the charger immediately, and leave the unit on charge overnight; it can take quite a while for it to begin accepting juice. Most of them will have about an 85% charge on arrival, and will top off in a few hours. I’ve bought half a dozen with zero duds.
@erthian That’s what the instructions tell you, and some will not wake up to accept a charge with the switch off. But I have also received units that don’t seem to care whether the switch is on or off for purposes of charging. In order to use them, however, the switch had better be on.
@erthian@werehatrack I got two last time. 85% and I just left it on for a few minutes and it self drained to 81%. I didn’t have anything plugged in. Is this normal? Seems a bit excessive, how are you supposed to charge a phone if the thing will self discharge within a couple of hours. Then again I thought maybe it was just the battery management catching up with the current situation vs when it was originally charged at the factory.
Finally, the instructions are… great? So I can plug it into my cigarette lighter and it will run my electronics and or charge the car that way? Or will it charge the jump starter ?
@erthian@qazxto The lighter plug cord is used for charging the unit while driving.
The drop fron 85% to 81% after it has been on for a few minutes after long storage is normal; there are Reasons. Charge it fully, and it will most likely be at 99% one to two months later.
I’ve got two of these and they kick a righteous amount of butt. One rides around in my van and the other in my wagon. I borrow one or the other for power on camping trips as well.
The one I received would not charge I contacted them and they did reply. They don’t care about customer service. I would not recommend. Extremely disappointed
with them.
@jbaker3 As has been restated in the forums here in multiple threads, Tacklife no longer exists; they shut down after they got booted from Amazon for review tampering. However, you got a 90 day warranty from Meh, and can contact meh.com/support for assistance.

@werehatrack these are the weird ones that you have to have “on” to charge right?
