1x Shark 3-In-1 Hydrovac Xl Multi-Surface Cleaning System (Certified Renewed)
Bottom Line: It works pretty well for spot cleanup and small-to-moderate area cleaning, maybe a bit slow for whole-house. Doesn’t get right up to the edges, so you’ll still need to do some manual scrub-n-wipe there, but it’s really good for general grime. The vacuum will pick up stray cat litter and kibble, but it gets really sticky inside the catch tank if you’re picking up scoopable litter. Some sweeping before the scrub can cut down on that.
Features I really like: The dirty water catch tank assembly can be easily dismantled for cleaning (and this should be done after every use), right down to the final filter which opens up to allow pulling out the sponge element to rinse and squeeze. You may want to use an old toothbrush to clear sticky debris from some of the convolutions of the complicated inner baffle, but if this is done as soon as the machine is parked, it’s pretty easy.
Other things you should know: The vac lays down remarkably little cleaning solution while in operation, and makes very good use of it. You won’t have to stop every two minutes to empty the catch tank the way that some others require, but when you do empty it, be aware that it’s going to be truly filthy. It’ll most likely resemble very thin mud more than dirty water. That’s how aggressive the scrubbing roller is. Both the solution tank and the catch tank are small, but given the results seen so far, I’m calling them adequate for the purpose.
