I was waiting for a kid to knock on the door. Didn’t happen. I got the width of the vehicle, half way down the driveway and said f-this…still not finished. Where are those money hungry kids?
Hmm well my cousin, when she was living at our house in the snow belt, firmly believed that she didn’t need to shovel to get out of the driveway. She backed up and ended up mostly in the front yard and not in the driveway (no previous tire tracks to guide her) and then got stuck. Called a friend from 45 min away to come dig her out. She, apparently, was unaware of how you operate a snow shovel.
1, 2, 3, 4. Shovel around my house and my mother’s house down the street. A few of us have pitched in a few bucks to have someone plow the private road to the back of our houses when the snow is sizable. Use an electric snowblower for my driveway. The neighborhood pitches in to help each other when we have really big snows.
@callow My snowblower is electric too. Which is actually kind of silly as my driveway is about 145’ long. But I’d rather deal with the cord issue once or twice a winter than gas, oil, and prepping it for summer storage. People never believe the amount of torque electric snowblowers have and how well they work.
That’s why we have children.

It was funny to see this topic notification while out shoveling. I did let my neighbor clear our sidewalk with his snowblower.

Most snow, I shovel it. Big snow, I snow blow it. Today’s 2” dusting, I broke out the leaf blower and blew it off the cars and walkway.
1 and 4. I had to clear 4.5 to 5 feet into the road from the driveway since the city didn’t bother clearing the whole width of the street.
My lawn crew takes care of it.

I’m in the deep south so, if it snows (It’s usually ice anyway) we just don’t go anywhere. They officially close most of the roads.
Where are all the kids that used to come around and ask if you wanted ur driveway/sidewalk shoveled? Guess no one needs the $'s anymore.
