Should my smallest toe touch the side of my boot?
3Seems to happen with every pair of boots I try on. Both pinky toes touch the outside edge of the boot. They don’t rub, but it is a little annoying. A half size bigger is too big, my wife tells me they fit right and I just don’t like wearing shoes.

I always thought a correctly fitted shoe/boot would touch on both outside edges… you don’t want your toe nails rubbing on the front, but the sides have to be pretty snug to keep your foot from sliding around and creating blisters. Right?
@medz that’s how my work boots fit for the past 6 years.
@medz @seraphimcaduto I guess I don’t like wearing shoes. The sides of the foot don’t bother me, but I don’t like anything touching the edges of my toes.
@Pantheist I’m the same way. Trust me, ordering half a size big actually backfires. I did that with some sneakers recently, and they slip around badly! Try wide width, if you can find them, it works better.
@Jamileigh17 I’ll give it a shot, but I think my feet are on the narrower side so may not work. It doesn’t bother me so much with sneakers since the sides flex, but with boots I don’t like it.
I like to pluck hair on side of nose
@phatmass you have hair that grows on the side of your nose?
With… boot? Or pinkie toe?
@RiotDemon I have 1 thin white hair that grows on the side of my nose. I have to pluck it all the time. Like @Phatmass, I find this is very enjoyable, but I need some laser treatment or something.
@medz unfortunately laser doesn’t work well on lighter hairs. I think electrolysis does though.
Touching is not bad but cramped will get you the greatest bunions.

Shoes that aren’t super comfy suck.
That is all.
solved
@medz Haha I’ve thought about those sneakers, but I put on a pair of socks that had toes like that once and hated it. I also can’t stand thong sandals, so I’m guessing I wouldn’t like those either.
@Pantheist
No flip flops?
@f00l no
I have to shop around for shoes & boots that are EEEE width. They are never on sale…
@daveinwarsh My dad has that problem. He used to always look for new balance at an outdoor store outlet

May have found the solution- Inov-8 shoes have narrow heels with wide toes. I found a last year’s model of a trail runner for 1/3 the price of current ones in a store, so in a week or so I’ll hopefully have comfortable shoes
@Pantheist Hope that works for ya. You might also want to try on a pair of Merrell Trail Gloves. I’ve been enjoying pairs of those for a decade. They’re the closest thing I’ve experienced to feeling like I’m barefoot.
But maybe I’m not a good judge since my pinky toes don’t even touch the ground. Not even joking.
@gregormehndel Is the toe box wide on those? I used to love merrell clogs when I worked in a kitchen, but merrell boots are what started this whole thing. If the inov8 don’t work out, I may try those.
@Pantheist I consider them wide, but it might be best to actually try a pair, in a store, for fit. Definitely wider than Saucony running shoes, and a wider toe box than the Merrell boots I had a while back. Maybe it’s a boot thing. I haven’t tried the inov8’s because they seemed pricier the last time I looked, but their construction looks great.
@gregormehndel Fingers crossed Looks like they actually shipped today- 62 bucks for a pair of roclite 282 gtx from amazon
@Pantheist Good price! I personally need the low rise/no rise shoes because, although I’m in shape, heels cause lower back pain from an old injury. Fingers crossed!
