@awk And what the fuck is that bizarre fireplace contraption behind her? And why does the cleaning path become wider? Is the vacuum growing in size? It’s not far enough way to shrink your perspective to that degree. And why is her rug so incredibly dirty that one pass makes it white again?
I have one of these. It really does suck, which is a good thing for a vacuum. I give it 4 stars, minus one star because it doesn’t stand up when you’re using it. Too top heavy.
Got this vac from anoher source about a year ago - cost $14 more and didn’t come with all the snazy accesories. It’s an awesome vac - can get virtually anywhere and it really pulls up the dirt.
Stays stink-free if you keep it clean. LED lights are better than you’d expect and the dual speed is really handy to keep it from sucking up small rugs like doormats and pee pads in front of the toilet.
The power brush has a load sensor and will stop the brush motor if you suck up a sock or stray USB cable.
I have a dog - this sucks up his filth with ease.
One thing I will say - if you get a fancy color you may be sorry. Mine is “green” (which is actually teal) and after the first trip through the house we noticed green tic marks on virtually every baseboard. The head is now encased in duct tape. Caveat emptor
@Pufferfishy This is alarming and concerning. There is no color choice for this deal so I’m worried I’ll have red spots all over my baseboards. However, I read quite a few reviews over at Amazon and didn’t see anyone else say this. Could it be something about your baseboards?
@Pufferfishy Are you sure you have the latest model? According to an Amazon review “there is now a rubberized bumper on the front of the head which goes a long way to saving your baseboards and furniture legs” and another reviewer mentioned there is some sort of shock absorber so if you hit something the impact is reduces.
@uscpsycho What is being sold is not the latest model. If you look closely at Amazon it says “newer model available”. Also the reviews there mix both the newest and older models into one set of reviews.
@dave Thanks for the speedy fix, order went through just fine. Now I can look forward to vacuuming up all this holiday cheer that’s been ground into my carpets.
This is one of those deals where I mutter to myself about the person who promised me their pretty much brand new one of these vacuums for free because they had to move out of state for work kind of suddenly and didn’t want to take too much stuff with them. They changed their mind at the last minute, and decided to keep it after all. Now I am sharkless and sad. Got no monies to buy one of my own. Sure would be nice for cleaning up cat hair. My current vacuum wants the floof, but it can’t handle the floof. Another “Maybe someday in a Fuko haha” item. (umm… sorry to ramble. Sick, sleep deprived and on yucky meds that mess up my brain but not in a fun way.)
@Pony If you plan ahead and skip buying the next 20 Fukos, you could buy this now. That way you’re not taking your chances and it all evens out in the end!
@jzmacdaddy I have some offbrand robot vacuum (InLife) and I can say that thing is freaking amazing. It gets stuck sometimes, but it keeps my first floor pretty much free of doghair. It used to get stuck under the couch until I stuck some things on it to make it a little taller.
@Thumperchick If I buy it (which I’m in the process of convincing my wife), can I request 20 fidget spinners and some candy corn for the kiddos as well?
@jmbunkin
I have that too - this sure looks like our handheld just with a rigid extension & vaccuum attachment. Kinda surprised it has enough power for this “regular” vaccuum use.
I have one of these and it’s literally the best vacuum I’ve ever had. I may buy a second just to have. This thing will make you feel like you live a pig sty. It will pull hair out of your carpet from ten years ago. It’s exrememly light and maneuverable. Best of all it plugs into the wall so no worries about batteries dying after 25 mins. Buy this vacuum and say goodbye to heavy canisters.
I have a love/hate relationship with you today Meh. The bf and I agreed to have a no buy January…but this a good price and I’ve been wanting a Shark to replace my 15+ year old Kenmore canister vacuum. Decisions, decisions…
@Kidsandliz Haha, oh I don’t need much convincing! I’m trying to give myself just a bit of time to change my mind, but it’s most likely I’ll be hitting buy it at some point this morning.
I was concerned that this doesn’t have the DuoClean and that’s why it got a lot of good reviews, but this model got good reviews as well…just looks like we might have to remove more hair from the bristles than with the DuoClean. Regardless, it’ll work better than what we’re using now.
This is meant to be. I haven’t checked Meh in a few weeks but the color matches my other 2 year old Shark that crapped out yesterday. May be a sock in there. Just in case I can’t get it out, I’m getting my other beloved Shark a friend/successor.
I have zero motivation to clean my house if I know I can’t finish it off with a good sucking.
I bought this vac from Amazon last February for $197. I like it - but I don’t give it 5-stars. A related model was the recommendation of CR at that time. I think it’s best at vacuuming carpets. The hard floor nozzle has a large pad that collects debris when you pull the vac toward you rather than vacuum it up. That’s my least favorite feature. You’ll want additional pads (I bought ASIN B00YZP0PAQ as the Shark brand is so expensive).
When I’m doing the whole house, I wear earplugs, as this stick design puts the noisy part right near your head. I’m amazed at not only how much dog hair this picks up, but how much incredibly fine dust it picks up. I use a can of compressed air to blow that dust out of the cup once in a while. Don’t forget to wash the filter once a month.
@sligett How many versions of this vac are there? Mine doesn’t have any “bumper” (as mentioned in my comment above) and mine doesn’t have any sort of “Depends” on the bottom…
@Pufferfishy I don’t know if anyone has done a Shark genealogy. I have wondered if they are all the same motor with different add-ons. Mine doesn’t have a bumper; I haven’t noticed marks on the baseboards, but I do see paint on the vac! Mine is this exact model number.
Dangit! I just bought this exact 'item last week for about twice the price.
OK, in all fairness, my last (<$100) vacuum was over 10 years old and was failing to actually clean anything, and the wife was insistent that a replacement be purchased now (which, trust me, is worth the price difference).
This is my third Shark Rocket product and I have to say I and everyone I know who have tried the upright vacuum and the handheld unit and the electric mop truly appreciate them. I use them for different tasks. It’s true, they really suck.
@joychannell The reviews mix the old model (what meh is selling) and the new model (what they are not selling) together. So far all that looks different is that the new model added a bumper to address the complaints that the vac paint transfers to the walls. May be some other subtleties I missed comparing them…
@rm9116 Long hair is long hair. Small diameter rollers are small diameter rollers.
I think it is time for the girls to learn how to use some sharp scissors cross-ways in between the bristle rows to clean any vacuum. It’s never too early to learn a trade.
@therealjrn We are professionals at the sharp scissors plan, but if you move the Dyson roller to any great degree, ours refuses to reseat correctly and it’s off to the vacuum repair place. Thanks for the reality check, though, because you are right about long hair.
BOTTOM OF FLOOR NOZZLE
1 Use a coin to unlock the three locks on the bottom of the floor nozzle.
2 A portion of the base is removable to allow for better access to the brushroll and exposure to the airway. Shine a flashlight from the bottom to check for possible blockage in the airway. 3 Remove any string, carpet fibers or hair that may be wrapped around the brushroll. There is a groove along
the brush bar that allows a pair of scissors to cut
across it to loosen up the debris.
4 To re-assemble, replace base by lining it up along the front of the nozzle. Push down to snap into place until you hear a click. Lock the three locks.
@xiao8686 your order shipped on the 9th and is due by the 17th. We had an email issue that might have delayed your tracking number communication but I see the actual shipment has been progressing through FedEx normally.
Just got ours and was disappointed to see the brushes filled with hair. Clearly this has been used before. I was under the impression it was a new vacuum, but maybe I misread the item page.
@LinearCitrus Seems like we’re all getting used ones as mine came not even sealed. If I had known it was used I certianly woud not have purchased at all. I e-mailed customer support to see what’s up. Mine looks like it’s missing items too as the flap was completely open when they delivered it
I am having the same issue having gotten a used vacuum when it is clearly advertised as new. Hair and dust in the roller brush, components haphazardly throw in the box either in torn open factory plastic bags or just not packaged at all. The outer box wasn’t even sealed. Just sent a message to meh customer service. What a dissappointment after waiting about 2 weeks for it to arrive.
@richardfurman Mine was the same way. I just e-mailed them as FedEx put a sticker on it noting that it wasn’t sealed either. Mine looks used and that someone went through it. As you said, this is clearly NOT a new item.
@richardfurman I just received my and it looks someone had used it and the some of the parts are missing. I thought those a brand new… .how can I get a refund?
I took a screen shot of their item page stating that it’s new in case they try to tell me it said refurbished or something. You all may want to do the same.
I received my unit in a box that had been opened, item removed and then reinstalled in the box (not very well done either). There was a letter in the box stating that the unit I have was a return to Bed Bath & Beyond because it was “defective/Damaged”. To that end the unit does not work on Hi speed. All this is not very cool, I had a lot more faith in you guys or girls. So what do you intend to do about it ?I hate the though of trying to put it back in the box and shipping it to you. How about a price adjustment that we can both can live with? I would like to keep buying stuff from you but be happy about it. Please don’t let me down, i’ve been a very good customer…thanks
@BerthoudER Meh sold 1800 of these bad boys @ $99. I’m very glad I got in on it, despite these very few complaints of poor product packaging and/or used product received. I haven’t counted individually the complaints (due to some posters thinking they needed to post repeatedly) but it looks like what? 6? 7? Let’s be generous and call it 10. 10 divided by 1800 is a miniscule percentage (less that 1/2 of one percent) of bad orders.
But even one bad product is too much. Shark should be ashamed for providing Meh with returns and re-worked product as new.
I would consider getting another too. They might show up on morningsave for a few dollars more…
Mine arrived today via USPS even though it was said to have been shipped via FedEx,
The box had clearly been previously opened and VERY poorly taped closed. All the parts appear to be in the box and none of the parts appear to be used.
I expect better from MEH, but probably won’t lodge a formal complaint unless the unit fails to work properly.
@robertcbyrd It’s Fedex Smartpost. Fedex delivers the package to your local Post Office. The Postal Service then delivers the package to you. Although, I don’t think they open and reseal it at any point during the journey My guess is the supplier stiffed Meh (and you) with a used unit.
Got it. Like it so far. Really liked the head on the brushing that picture up there ^^^, it sees stuff my standup vacuum light didn’t. Also liked the bag for the accessories. Not that I’m going to use it, but at least there is a way to keep all the accessories together.

Another deal that sucks.
This sucks…how original of me. The ‘sucks’ jokes are tired, people. How about “I’d rather not create a vacuum in my wallet for today’s item.”
@norman8 Ha, I beat you to the punch line.
@norman8 how about, this sucks or does not suck is the question?
@givemehdeal It depends upon whether it’s married or not.
Pretty.
We’re working on it.
/giphy under construction
It’s working now.
/giphy nailed it
Okay so she’s walking parallel to the table and somehow the vacuum’s path comes out from under the table?
Someone must’ve moved the table. And she’s holding the vacuum at an angle. It’s about to go off the edge of the rug.
Also I think her belt is a strip of metal.
@awk and she has a vacuum surgically attached to one arm.
@awk And what the fuck is that bizarre fireplace contraption behind her? And why does the cleaning path become wider? Is the vacuum growing in size? It’s not far enough way to shrink your perspective to that degree. And why is her rug so incredibly dirty that one pass makes it white again?
@awk Obviously, this is the labor-saving technology the Kanamits told us about…
@cinoclav I blew it up and can’t figure out what type of “Fireplace” that is. Seems very odd. Maybe that is why there is a layer of ash on the carpet.
@awk Maybe she is using the optional paint roller attachment ?
I have one of these. It really does suck, which is a good thing for a vacuum. I give it 4 stars, minus one star because it doesn’t stand up when you’re using it. Too top heavy.
“Buzz off …”
:clicks Meh:

@Kidsandliz Thank you! I thought this was the new duo clean version. Wishful thinking…
@uscpsycho I can’t say where my model falls in the “production run” - but I will tell you that it does NOT have a bumper of any kind.
@uscpsycho Ok so the new one has the bumper and the old one, the one meh is selling, does not.
New model isHV382
https://www.amazon.com/DuoClean-Ultralight-Upright-Charcoal-HV382/dp/B01K7L8U62/ref=dp_ob_title_kitchen
The old one is model HV322
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NGVF4II/?tag=meh0ec-20
This I determined by the photos. Not easy to tell if there are any other differences.
“OOPS, SORRY. WE’RE UNABLE TO PLACE YOUR ORDER BECAUSE WE’RE NOT SURE WHICH ITEMS YOU’RE TRYING TO BUY.”
?
@jonjen2 @dugi_f Sorry about that, it should be working now.

@jonjen2 It’s working now.
It’s working now.

I appreciate a Space Jam website link, keep up the good work Meh.
Is anyone else having problems placing the order? It says it does not know what stuff I want???
@rckymntain We just fixed it, it should work if you try it now. Sorry about that.
Tried to buy it, as my vacuum gave up the ghost over the holiday season, but Meh is throwing an error back in my face.
@TouranRowan We just fixed it, it should work if you try it now. Sorry about that.
@dave Thanks for the speedy fix, order went through just fine. Now I can look forward to vacuuming up all this holiday cheer that’s been ground into my carpets.

@Pony If you plan ahead and skip buying the next 20 Fukos, you could buy this now. That way you’re not taking your chances and it all evens out in the end!
@cinoclav And miss out on the excitement? The anticipation and inevitable heartbreak of the Fuko? Oh HELL no.
@cinoclav Actually, only the next 10.5, assuming no VMP.
@michabailey You don’t have to assume. You can see Pony is a VMP, thus my count of 20 Fukos. I have faith Pony will keep up the VMP status.
@cinoclav What do you mean? There’s no VMP badge there. (Though I don’t know what that little tree means…)
@michabailey hover over the tree and you will see other badges. Tree is that we contributed to the 12 days of christmas video.
@Kidsandliz Ah, I see. Sure, as soon as I figure out how to get my capacitive touch screen to realize that I’m hovering over it
@michabailey. You can simply tap the user’s name to go to their profile page where you can see all their statuses.
@cinoclav I feel so… exposed.
@Pony well you can make invisible to others. Just go to your account to do so.
@Kidsandliz Heh. Nah, I have no secrets. It just startled me to see my profile all larger than life in a comment.
I know it’s satire, but that write up really does describe my Roomba. That’s why it sits in the closet.
@jzmacdaddy I’ll pay you for it.
This is a new item, not refurbished? Who are you and what have you done with Meh?
@hchavers Would you like us to bundle it with 20 fidget spinners and a few pounds of candy corn?
@Thumperchick don’t say it if you don’t mean it.
@ticklescratch We could call it the Party & After Party Bundle.
@Thumperchick
I know you’re joking, but I would totally buy it if you did that.
@Thumperchick If I buy it (which I’m in the process of convincing my wife), can I request 20 fidget spinners and some candy corn for the kiddos as well?
Pair it with a dog from an animal rescue organization and call it the “Bundle Of Love”
@benj or with a cat and call it a “Purrfect Bundle of Love”
@benj @Kidsandliz Either way, you can keep them all fluffy and vacuumed.
Are you shipping the burgundy one as pictured, since there is no choice of color?
@uscpsycho yep, or “Bordeaux” if that makes you feel fancier
I bought the Shark HV292 (refurb) from Meh many months ago does anyone know if this is basically the same machine but with extra accessories ?
@jmbunkin
I have that too - this sure looks like our handheld just with a rigid extension & vaccuum attachment. Kinda surprised it has enough power for this “regular” vaccuum use.

@Avalora Just buy already since it is a need and not a want. I will tell your bf I made you do it.

@sligett probably why they don’t sell the green anymore. I can literally rub the color off with a rag.
@Pufferfishy Yeah, I’m not that careful, and I don’t see anything on our white painted baseboards.
Dangit! I just bought this exact 'item last week for about twice the price.
OK, in all fairness, my last (<$100) vacuum was over 10 years old and was failing to actually clean anything, and the wife was insistent that a replacement be purchased now (which, trust me, is worth the price difference).

@joychannell The reviews mix the old model (what meh is selling) and the new model (what they are not selling) together. Daughters with long hair that leaves our Dyson sobbing for mercy. How difficult to clean the brush on this one?

@scott78945 Just replied to your case.

How about a price adjustment that we can both can live with? I would like to keep buying stuff from you but be happy about it. Please don’t let me down, i’ve been a very good customer…thanks

Bring this back, I need one!
They might show up on morningsave for a few dollars more…
We haven’t even gotten ours yet… Maybe the complaints about the used ones cause them to fix that problem thus causing the delay?
@capguncowboy It looks like “open box” stock, well packed but poorly taped. We’ll get it checked out over the next few days.
@robertcbyrd if you haven’t already done so, please contact CS. Here’s a link to our Support Form.
@capguncowboy @robertcbyrd Mine looked like an “open box” item too. Box was clearly opened, but nothing seemed used.
Got it. Like it so far. Really liked the head on the brushing that picture up there ^^^, it sees stuff my standup vacuum light didn’t. Also liked the bag for the accessories. Not that I’m going to use it, but at least there is a way to keep all the accessories together.
At least 2 of the 3 I ordered were previously opened and one is missing the attachment. Disappointed in meh!
For folks that missed out, they’re up on Morningsave, $119.

Is it possible to be in love with a vacuum cleaner?
@dceleste11 I’m in love with mine.
