@PlacidPenguin Aww, thank you, but I really am okay. Missing this Fuko has given me the chance to do some serious complaining about things around here. I haven’t gotten to do that.
Showed it to my wife, and she responded that it would be great for us - especially since we have cats who tend to puke on our hardwood floors or just make wet food messes around their bowls (and beyond even the placemats we got for them…). Now if you really want to make our day, offer a deal on a good carpet steam cleaner.
Took a shot, and it did not pan out. Very very little steam comes out of mine (waited quite a while after first run as directed to). It looks like your breath on a mildly cold day. Nothing close to the video. Also, when plugged in, the lights in my house go dim. That doesn’t happen with my shop vac, kitchenaid (which used to trip the breaker at my old house), or any other heavy duty appliance. I haz a sad.
I was ready to hate this mop after that story, and after I received only one mop head in the box. But it worked beautifully first time out, with a ton of steam after a few minutes of use. I hate cleaning the kitchen floor, so there are parts with a solid year’s worth of gunk and cat hair on it. Shark took care of it (it’s a small kitchen) before the water reservoir ran out, so I’m pleased. It does draw a lot of power, but everything with a heating element does that.
only got one pad and appears to have come with an older/newer model’s handle which doesn’t fit into the mop head. instruction booklet is also for a different model.
interestingly enough, the mop shown in the photos here on meh show neither the mop head i got nor the mop head on the instruction booklet. they are all apparently S3101 models, though?
I also received only one pad. Luckily all the parts went together.
The amount of steam produced is pretty underwhelming. It’s more a ‘hot mop’ than a ‘steam mop’. I hot mopped my kitchen. The results were solidly mediocre.
@fibrs86 Agreed: it is definitely more ‘hot mop’ than ‘steam mop.’ Of course, it’s also easier than getting out and using a real mop/bucket, so maybe it balances out?
Disappointed to only receive the one mop head, but mine had all the correct pieces, went together quickly & is working great… seems to be producing a good amount of steam as well.
Why no response from meh cs on these orders? I just got done with SharkNinja live chat and they were very helpful. will be sending me a new handle that fits my mop head but they are on backorder.
edit: btw after talking with their chat, these are all S3101 but the photos on meh seem to be some form of the 3rd gen, the box i got showed a 2nd gen, and inside i got what appears to be the oldest/most original model. and it doesn’t work well to boot - i bet some of the other complaints are also the same sub-model as mine.
@DemonMF777@Lichme@fibrs86 would you guys mind posting a photo of what your mop head actually looks like?
@meh Pictures one two and three on meh show a different head then picture 5. The one I got is the one you got. Also, Shark told me meh advertised the wrong info for the item they sold.
We received ours fairly quickly after it shipped out but just opened it today for it’s first use. When the handle wouldn’t properly fit into the base, I came here to read the comments and it seems we’re blessed with the same issues others are experiencing. I’m going to go straight to the Shark customer service as they seem to be much more responsive and helpful that meh.
My ex went bonkers !!! he loved it!
Hell if I knew this is what turned him on he wouldnt be an ex …Id talk actual dirt to him and force the shark into submission cleaning !
GREAT ITEM MEH! thanks so much !
Shark came through, and replaced the non working unit with a newer model that swivels and is lighter. And it actually steams! And it’s not refurbished. Woohoo. Issue with the single mop pad also resolved (via meh). I haz a happy again!
@PlacidPenguin As far as I know, it’s just a stained hardwood stair skirt. Not sure the exact kind of wood. While I like how it looks, it gets dusty pretty quick, especially with all of the construction going on around here.
i just got my back ordered new handle after a month of delays due to stock on these old models. it’s still the wrong handle. it’s in fact worse, it’s the handle that came with the first one, only missing more pieces. @lichme what did you tell them to get a new one?
@meh I told them that my steam mop didn’t seem to be steaming, and that having it plugged in seemed to cause the lights in my house to dim. Replacement one seems to be doing much better.

@mediocrebot Glittery? How did you know?
@lichme waitress moonlights as a stripper.
@lichme well let us know if it cleans up glitter and coleslaw…
Purple! Purple! Purple! Go ahead, you meh jerks, keep rubbing my nose in it that I didn’t get a purple Fuko.
@Barney
Would you like a custom made purple pseudo-fuko?
@PlacidPenguin Aww, thank you, but I really am okay. Missing this Fuko has given me the chance to do some serious complaining about things around here. I haven’t gotten to do that.
They sold just one so far.
Some idiot in Dallas bought it.
At least it wasn’t some idiot in Fort Worth.
@f00l hey, Fort Worth is okay!
@woodhouse @f00l
@PlacidPenguin nailed it.
Not exactly sure how this works, but my kitchen floor really needs something.
Mopnado!
Not sure why but it’s late and I’m feeling loopy and @JasonToon’s copy felt delightfully insane. I even got an appropriate order number.

Go steam yourself!
Are you getting steamed yet?
I’ve been wanting to try one on my stone tile but can’t see paying full price. Thanks Meh for always taking my money
/giphy Why not?
Haven’t these been for sale here before? What do people who have it think of it?
@haydesigner Nope, not this one: http://www.mehstalker.com/mehhistory.php?search=Shark

Pros: It’s purple.
Cons: No Bluetooth, no speakers, no knife, I’d still have to push this I think. I dunno. I’ve never used a mop.
@PlacidPenguin said, “I’ve never used a mop.”
Spoken like a true man.
Marvelous Lovely Hound just improved the value of my impulse buy!
I hold this in great, eh, steam. Pass.
Will this work for steam cleaning the tearstains on my shirt from days of crying at mediocre-even-for-meh deals!?
It’s actually a good mop, and it is purple! But I already have one.
Just can’t wait to see this gif

I just bought a house that has hard wood floors and we’ve been struggling keeping them clean. Maybe this will motivate the wife.

@bigjajapoof Heads up, I don’t see a confirmation post, you might want to double check your order history to make sure your purchase went through.
I bought a steam mop 2 weeks ago and love it.
So of course this week Meh offers one for 1/5 what I paid.
I have one. Works great on tile and wood floors. Definitely better than the dollar store sponge mop it sidelined.
I wonder how good a job this thing does at steaming vegetables. Not that I would ever eat vegetables. Unless they were hidden somewhere in a pizza.

Maybe this tutorial video will help.

@djwitzel Mine only came with one pad as well, the box seems to indicate only one is included, but the sale indicates otherwise.
Mine arrived broken, and I was all excited to mop (first for everything). I’m not sure whether to complain or be thankful.
@fait Just got mine & the box sounded a bit noisy w/ parts tumbling around inside… hoping it works when I get home to try it out!
Where’s the other pad? I am new with Meh and was already wondering what slow boat they put the package on to get here.
Was so excited to get this but it came missing a part so it was impossible to assemble. No steaming for me
only got one pad and appears to have come with an older/newer model’s handle which doesn’t fit into the mop head. instruction booklet is also for a different model.
interestingly enough, the mop shown in the photos here on meh show neither the mop head i got nor the mop head on the instruction booklet. they are all apparently S3101 models, though?

I too only received a single cleaning pad - I emailed Meh support, but no response so far.
@FsFalcon Okay, I contacted Shark support via their online chat and with no hassle whatsoever they’re sending out replacement mop heads to me.
Disappointed to only receive the one mop head, but mine had all the correct pieces, went together quickly & is working great… seems to be producing a good amount of steam as well.

@DemonMF777 @Lichme @fibrs86 would you guys mind posting a photo of what your mop head actually looks like?
@djwitzel would you show a photo of yours, too? interested to see if those that work well are the “newer” ones shown in the meh photos.
@meh I’m not currently near the mop, but it looks a heck of a lot like your photo, above. It fit together with no real issues, as you might expect.
@meh Pictures one two and three on meh show a different head then picture 5. The one I got is the one you got. Also, Shark told me meh advertised the wrong info for the item they sold.
@lichme lol well that gives me lots of confidence.
@djwitzel the mop heads are just subtly different. shark said the mop head i got was “S3101-Nseries”.
Mine doesn’t have the power light and the handle it expects would have one nub on the back of the handle where the one i got has two nubs on the side.
@meh Oh. Huh. I see that the one in the picture is ribbed, seemingly for her pleasure. But the logo lights up on my mop head.
We received ours fairly quickly after it shipped out but just opened it today for it’s first use. @lichme
Is that wood on the side of the steps? And if so, what kind of wood?
@PlacidPenguin As far as I know, it’s just a stained hardwood stair skirt. Not sure the exact kind of wood. While I like how it looks, it gets dusty pretty quick, especially with all of the construction going on around here.
@lichme
It goes nicely with the carpet.
i just got my back ordered new handle after a month of delays due to stock on these old models. it’s still the wrong handle. it’s in fact worse, it’s the handle that came with the first one, only missing more pieces. @lichme what did you tell them to get a new one?

Note to self:
Don’t buy pillows or Shark Steam Mops from meh.
