@phendrick No, because it’s clearly been successfully re-new-ed. It’s like running a product through the NewAndImprover, it doesn’t necessarily change anything, but it’s still New!! and Improved!!
I bought an iHome air filter here for $50 in August. Worked great for about 3 months. Now it says the filter needs to be changed and I can’t find a replacement anywhere. What are the chances this one has the same problem in 6 months?
Or better question: Anyone know where I can get a filter for the iHome iWAP260W air filter?
@ambimb I feel like this is the curse of buying something like an air purifier here. Devices are often here because they’re unpopular or coming to the end of their usefulness, which means they’re less likely to have replacement parts available in the future.
If you’re looking for a purifier that will always have filters available, get a Corsi Rosenthal box that just uses household filters. We just bought one and I look forward to picking up 20x25x1 filters at a major retailer for the lifetime of the purifier.
@squishybrain Aren’t they neat? I’ve been interested in building one from scratch for a while but never found the time, so we bought an easy-to-assemble one from Clean Air Kits. But there’s lots of documentation out there about different ways to make them.
I’m in. Reviews show this one actually works. Removes odors. We have 2 large dogs in our bedroom and they don’t always smell like roses. Many reviews say after trying 4 or 5 $100+ air purifiers this is the ONLY ONE that removed their dog stank from the bedroom. They state their runny/stuffy noses cleared up in a few days. I say they were clogged up due to the snorting of the cocain but this might help with that issue as well?? What’s all your thoughts.

Can you smell what the heck is cooking?
Replacement filters are $44 for 2 and last 6 to 12 months. Can anyone tell me if that’s a good deal for the consumables?
@squishybrain
About the same as Winix filter packages which have to be changed annually or more often (depends how dirty your air is).
It’s not a “good deal,” but that’s about what they cost for similar capacity and timeframe.
Amazon has a filter package (off brand) as low as $38 for these Sharks. So, $19 each is a decent deal.
will this cover the before & after smell of aunt Edna’s brussel sprout holiday casserole?
I’ve got one of these running in our bedroom, and adding it made a perceptible difference in the air quality; I have a lot less sinus drainage now.
Guaranteed to NOT be new?
So if mine seems to be new, I can send it back for a refund?

@ambimb I’m in the exact same boat. Sucks to have to buy a while new air purifier.
@ambimb there’sa Site, filters dot com or close to that, maybe they have it

@adastra @ambimb Damn! The Corsi Rosenthal box (wikipedia) or similar designs seems to be the way to go:

Am I the only person who got a gigantisized photo of the deal via email?
@melissajean3 No. And the text was tiny!
$69 nice
@courteousblock The actual price is much closer to $70. Not sure if that means anything special.
