@mfladd I don’t have any personal experience with this one, but it’s a rebranded Huajun W606. These are available from the Chinese mail order joints for about a hunnert bucks with free shipping.
Low specs, 8 minute flight time, no GPS, 720p video, 300 foot maximum operating range, it’s essentially a higher-end toy drone, or low-level hobby grade.
@ruouttaurmind Ok, I actually purchased the one in the link I sent you. They had two left. In the time it took me to order mine someone scooped up the last one and they are now sold out. Shit moves quick on this site.
@mfladd A hex! Noice! Check GearBest, Banggood and AliExpress (all .com) for a couple spare batteries as well. Banggood and GearBest both have US warehouses, and sometimes getting an item from the US warehouse is cheaper than the China warehouse for each of those vendors. With the added benefit that your order arrives in 2 or 3 days rather than 2 or 3 weeks.
@ruouttaurmind Ha. 2 seconds before checking back here I bought 3 more batteries (flight time is only 10-12 minutes). I purchased 3 batteries for $31 shipped (is coming from china, but that is ok. So is my drone - how they came up with .71 cents shipping for the drone I will never know.
@ruouttaurmind I figured I would ping you to see if you had any knowledge of these since they are only on sale for 11 more hours.

Here it is at GearBeast for $107.
All that said… it is an attractive looking bit of kit!
@ruouttaurmind Thanks!
@ruouttaurmind This one looks interesting to play with. Thanks again for that site. Prices are MUCH better.

It’s amazing they are making these with FPV for these prices now.

@mfladd Sweet! At $107, it’ll certainly offer that much fun. At the Woot! price… not so much.
I have a similar model, the JJRC H8D with very similar specs and features, including the 5" FPV display, and it’s a hoot to fly.
@ruouttaurmind No. I didn’t buy the $107 one. I bought this one instead. I found a coupon online and picked it up for $137.

Then I just noticed the price went down to $124. I used the online customer service chat and they are refunding me the difference.

@ruouttaurmind I was wondering about flying my drone in Ocean City, MD. I found this interesting post.
@mfladd I’ve read that a few states have done something similar. It’s encouraging, but then the feds come along and try to muck it all up again.
According to one YouTube reviewer this one is a dud.
