Scavenger Hunt: The hunt for fancy plastics
6Ok... Today's hunt will take you on a quest for the holy Plastics... What I mean is... Find and obtain, then post proof of your conquest of one Plastic utensil. This must be something of very little value. Preferably fork, Spork, or something that you can stab with. I want pictures of your most mediocre, your cutest, your most swappable... Preferably freebies... as you may have to exchange it at some point... I'll start with a picture of one that I like... but sadly no longer have.
I'll post another one of what I actually have and am willing to destroy/Melt/swap/blend ETC to it later. This does have a point value attached... I may hand out points to interesting ones.
Please don't buy anything for this... :) I mean going to your local Wendy's/hardy's/Jack in the box/M D's and swiping a fork would be enough.

sweet sweet plastics
artisinal custom utencilry
@Lotsofgoats - Is that a reference to Scalia for scale?
Fancy plastics for sure! And a really boring speaker dockish thing.
@zdunklee IT SHINES
@zdunklee There is no spoon
Segregation.
@connorbush YOU MONSTER!
@connorbush mix all that shit up
@Lotsofgoats @zdunklee
@connorbush Well stocked. Very nice.
@connorbush unwillingness to do dishes LOL
@Kidsandliz dishes are for the weak
@connorbush Naw you can be lazy and still use real dishes. When I worked on a "tall ship" one cook has us (eg deckhands who were forced to help wash dishes) toss all the dirty dishes in a net bag and drag it behind the boat for a while. Did get most of the crap off. Then washing was quick - dip the bag in boiling water, hang it from the boom or whatever and let it dry.
Not very stabby but good for Frostys.
@darksaber99999 seems legit
@marklog that is deeeluxe! Super fancy!
For smaller hands. Also, notice the stylish and ergonomically designed handle, allowing for the passage of air and less drag. Clothespin for size reference.
@escowhat That's totally the spork from KFC/A&W
@Bogie and we dont have those within 75miles....the plot thickens
Spoon is all you need.
fork you all.
Long stem sundae spoon. Clothespin for scale.
@lisaviolet is that a mini clothespin??
@kadagan No, it's a really big spoon! (I lie, it's a mini clothespin.)
@lisaviolet

Will not embed ugh...but it's worth the click lol
Tiny & shiny
Zod dammit, one plastic utensil, one! I didn't properly follow instructions. Maybe that will be my take, just mucking up every one. I blame @sohmageek for meh-ing before I was awake.
Proof of plastic. Can I get a ruling @sohmageek ? I.. I need one.
I may have stolen this spoon from my Pusheenicorn...
I have cute little curly forks (who started the clothespin scale thing?)
But if I have to go with plastic, this is a foldy fork and spork:
@KDemo I've got a foldy knife you could add to your set!!
@kadagan - Ha! Did we have a little temper tantrum? Works for me. Add some fine china and a cloth napkin and we're in business.
Fine, I'll play... for now. i already gave up on the e-mail address so I'm pretty sure my chances are slim.
@Bogie don't give up!
@stardate820926 Because of you, I gave the email another shot and got it. if i were in control of points id give you some for your encouragement!
Mine is extra special because it was sent to me (via the exchange) by another mehrican. Thanks, @connorbush!
(Seen posing with the plastic utensil I'm not willing to destroy. I love those Light My Fire sporks.)
@christinewas is the best!
I'm not exactly sure what is going on here, but here are a few dime-a-dozen citrus peelers.
I'm contributing!
@Willijs3 Those things are awesome for peeling oranges!
@sammydog01 tbh we all know these are really just shivs @Willijs3
@Lotsofgoats as a friend explained, shanks require effort. Shivs are just hastily pointy.
@Pamtha true true, shivving is an organic process
@Willijs3 YEY! Welcome to team@moose
@sohmageek I'm on a team now? Ok, time to figure out what is going on. Also, I feel like I was put on team awesome.
@Willijs3 Welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Willijs3 Welcome, teammate! You were put on team awesome.
how do I embed from Flickr? Help help!
(Mod Edit - FTFY)
@Pamtha Flickr is kind of a pain. You have to click the share button, get the BBC code, then pull the direct image url and paste it here. For posting images here, the fastest/easiest platform is imgur.
@Thumperchick is this in the post gooderer on the forums guide? I installed Imgur but am confused apparently.
@Pamtha I don't think this specific info is in that post. It's hard to include every image sharing site. Are you mobile only?
@Pamtha I love starbucks... Lets stick with the Yellow one for this... but you could do the starbucks one too.. .:) + 2 extra points! oh and Welcome to team@mehcus
@Pamtha @Thumperchick Alternately, I think you can click your image's download button, and right click one of the choices and copy the link URL.
Cat test to see if I'm right…
@djslack That's unique and awesome... Where is that from? I think that is worth an extra 3 points!
@sohmageek It's from a frozen yogurt place called Orange Leaf. It's very smooth edged and surprisingly heavy duty.
And to think I almost posted a picture of a fork I keep (in the wrapper) in my glovebox for lunch emergencies, but then remembered their unique spoons and grabbed one on the way home.
@djslack lol nice, this place has a sense of humor about it too
This is still going on? I just want to see what team I get stuck in. True to meh, knife:
@brhfl Welcome to team@mehcus
Don't know if I'm supposed to post or not, but I did score this bad boy from Popeyes today.
@hollboll Awesome! + 6 points.
@Moose, you can post some plastic here if you'd like to help us dominate!
@christinewas @moose I was just gonna ask this same thing! I can send you a picture if the mediocre offices are completely out of plastic.. lol
@christinewas @moose moosetensils?
Plastic wonton spoon
Clothespins for scale of course :)
@stardate820926 Where the heck do people get all these clothespins???
@stardate820926 - This deserves extra scale points!
@stardate820926 Yes @KDemo it really tips..the scales!
@kadagan mine originally came from a craft store. Not sure about everyone else
@KDemo hahaha agreed
meh. best I could come up with.
Sealed spork
@SavvySapphire Welcome to team@moose
@SavvySapphire Just saw this! Welcome to the team. We have a team chat set up on slack. If you email christinewasmeh at gmail I can send you an invitation to join the team.
@JonT, where's our plus 6, don't let @hollboll get all the staff points!
@MEHcus, please please post a cool fork for team @MEHcus points. We're in second place so far, but this utensil thing could turn the tide.
Extra points for yogurt being involved?
@MEHcus Damnit. Now I want froyo.
@MEHcus - Can't deny that's cool!
@MEHcus NEGATIVE points for yogurt!
@MEHcus Your favorite red spoon? (Anyone else here love Cowboy Mouth?)
Okay. Here's a fancy plastic. Yes, I have live butterflies in my room. Releasing them tomorrow.
One closeup..
@sohmageek This qualify? :)
@sohmageek Hmm?
@juststephen yes :)
@juststephen how very Silence of the Lambs
Dang it. Cancelled the upload because it was hung. Didn't know it would delete the image that was already showing on the site.
@walarney what is that??
@Pamtha It's a vegetable pealer. (We're still spelling like this in @sohmageek 's threads, right?) You push it around your apple and gouge off the skin. This one's missing a little thingy that adjusts for diameter.
What? Now the original is back?
One of said butterflies flew off somewhere in the room when I was doing this. It didn't want to participate, but its friend was happy to. No clue where it fluttered off to.
@juststephen He'll show up. Happened once before, just will flutter info sight when you're least expecting.
By the way, the butterfly that flew off just fluttered about the room. I put it in the enclosure with some sugar water, and it started drinking right away. Just for folks that were concerned about its well-being. I'll release it on the next sunny day.
Because kiwis deserve their very own plastic utensil.
I wonder if we can call it a spoife? A knifoon?
ps. @sohmageek I absolutely loved my Sea Shellers, or as my family called them, our seafood zippers!!! I had two, and was soooo sad when my last one's blade piece finally gave up the ghost and broke off... I should really order some more.
@curtise just eat at Jooe's Crab Shack. They know you will steal them.
@Pamtha They tell you to take them!
How about one random bag of plasticware at work, overshadowed nicely by a meh Contigo bottle?
@cinoclav looks like beer. Any job openings?
@Pamtha One - Can you perform open heart surgery? (Utensils pictured are not recommended.) Funny though, back in the day when I waited tables we used to get pitchers of beer and keep them behind the soda fountain. The servers drank more than the customers.
@cinoclav I am sure you have technology involved in that, and tech people. I can manage the hell out of some technology, as an experienced Technology Manager (now Level 5!). I am also glad that it is not beer, since you have very sharp stabby things around you.
@Pamtha Yes, these would be my typical tools of the trade. Nice and pokey. Trust me, it's a small hospital. Working in IT there would make you reconsider your career aspirations.
@cinoclav Hey @sohmageek - Doesn't my picture get me on a team? (The cute girl please!)
@cinoclav, you've been gifted to TeamMEHcus. See note over here. We're excited!
@medz I've got one of those sitting on my desk!
@medz Bonus points for being the first to pick this... but I don't think you could eat with it... well maybe not well... I'd think if you used the head cake would taste weird...
@sohmageek oh, sorry. Didn't know eating utensil was a stipulation.
"... something that you can stab with..."
@medz @sohmageek I can confirm these are fantastic stabbing tools :)
@medz True, It wasn't, I was thinking eating utensil, which it could be... but it's diabolical that way :) I like it :)
Plastic fork enhanced by Meh snap cables:
OK... I've updated the points and added people to teams... I'll update the team rosters in the team pages.
