@phendrick I guess every part of the world has their signature items, the Belgiums have chocolate, the Columbians have coffee, perhaps that was why the Egyptians settled on sheets and towels?
I keep seeing “you guys care a lot about cotton for some reason” on cotton towels here, but isn’t it microfiber sheets that people are always giving you grief for?
Then again, I guess I’d scoff at microfiber bath towels if someone was dumb enough to make them, so fair enough.
Color luster… Sounds like someone who’s obsessed with color, as in, “That color luster is one of the few who can appreciate the subtleties of sea holly.”
You know, if you buy these and they end up sucking as bath towels (by, ironically, not sucking), you could always use them to dry your car after you wash it…unless they leave those little pieces of lint-stuff all over the surface of your nicely cleaned-up beater. Somebody should try that!
Ok, so experienced hand-spinner here. Egyptian cotton has a longer staple than older cotton strains. This means the fibers are longer so the threads are more abrasion-resistant than what would be non-specific “cotton”. Pima cotton is similar, from South America, so that’s another one to look for.
Tl;dr Egyptian cotton will tend to last longer because the threads are stronger.
One time at a flea market I saw a sheet set proudly displayed for sale. They sheets were brightly colored and the package said in large print, 100% Egyptian Cotton.
The sheets were patterned with the Confederate flag.
I spent the rest of the day singing “Oh, I wish I were in the land of cotton” and thinking about pyramids.
Edit: thanks to Google photos, I could easily dive back through the years and find it. It proves my memory isn’t perfect, but the concept is there. Not going to go back and change my words. But, holy shit, they’re also Royal Comfort!
Got them last time. Honestly surprised at how much I like them. They’re nowhere near as plush as the towels I normally get, but they seem to dry way better. May pick up some more.
If in the bath, I were to Sea Holly, she might Blush and then feint to the Mat on the White Granite floor.
It might then take some Egyptian Cotton Towels to clean up after.

How well do these work as a cape?
@yakkoTDI Use big safety pins and you’ll be fine.
The write-up. So good!
@rglee129 YES! I want a continuation of it!
@Kyeh @rglee129 Tony must not have cats or he wouldn’t have wrapped his cash in rubber bands.
“Egyptian Cotton Towel Set”
Were these developed for wrapping mummies?
Is embalming fluid compatible with these available on SideDeal?
@phendrick I guess every part of the world has their signature items, the Belgiums have chocolate, the Columbians have coffee, perhaps that was why the Egyptians settled on sheets and towels?
KuoH
here is the same brand but different sku on jeff bezos place https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Comfort-Towels-Cotton-Turquoise/dp/B082DMF681
@communist and different GSM count and different types of items so not a comparison at all
can I get a set with Mary instead of Mat?
These do not look smooth. I like smooth towels drying off my old, wrinkled skin.
@hchavers then how will it get in the books and crannies.
Also smooth is les surface area/worse drying
Hand glove
HAND GLOVE
@00 I’m here for the hand glove discourse.
@highonpez I was expecting more hand glove discourse
@00 The German word for glove is Handschuh (hand shoe), so would they call it a hand hand shoe?
I keep seeing “you guys care a lot about cotton for some reason” on cotton towels here, but isn’t it microfiber sheets that people are always giving you grief for?
Then again, I guess I’d scoff at microfiber bath towels if someone was dumb enough to make them, so fair enough.
@3Phen They are unpleasantly fuzzy, if that makes any sense. So yes, they exist.
@3Phen @highonpez It’s a weird kind of fuzzy, like it’s trying to cling to your skin. But they work well for car detailing.
I like a larger towel or I’d get these.
Unfortunately I have two hands, I’d get these if it came with a body glove.
Color luster… Sounds like someone who’s obsessed with color, as in, “That color luster is one of the few who can appreciate the subtleties of sea holly.”
I actually was hoping you’d sell bath towels (or someone would put one on sale soon)
Don’t want all the other sizes though.
Hand glove?!? I need a foot sock!

@mattig88 wow that goes really well with the write up
Whoever writes these bits of story in the center column is amazing! Oh, and the towels seem nice.

Whoever did the write-up, we want a 20-book series about this crime solving trio.
@probablecaws and audiobook edition so we can listen on-the-go.
Though on-the-go might be better for listening on the toilet bidet seat offered here,
We actually need towels:) in for 2 sets

@djslack That’s bizarre!
I have no idea why I keep buying towels from here; I don’t need any more towels,

@pmarin wow, she seems really into that bread!
@pmarin “She’s” got a little pencil-thin mustache.

Why do I keep buying towels?
