Repressed memories
9Last night I re-watched The Brothers Grimm after not seeing it for about 10 years. I shouldn’t had watched it when I was younger.
Good Lord.
I honestly forgot this little piece of [[Mud]] existed. It was completely buried in my memory. I will say, for a 20 year old movie, the effects are not that bad. (I will say though, it goes to narm once it turns into the gingerbread man and says “I taste delicious.”) And that is just the beast. I am not even mentioning that the little girl got her features stolen by the glop! WTF YOU MEAN THIS WAS FOR KIDS???
(Don’t even get me started on the spiderhorse thing. That is a whole different can of worms.)

What the freak did I just watch!? Glad I missed it as a kid and I wouldn’t mind unseeing it now!

My advice, repress that memory a little longer!
@Lynnerizer Too late 0_0
@Lynnerizer “repress that memory a little longer”
Based on the reactions above, I should prefer not to.
@werehatrack I ain’t gonna watch it.
@therealjrn @werehatrack DO IT DO IT DO IT.
Its Halloween, everyone’s entitled to one good scare : )
@therealjrn me either, I dont need to be up all night hiding under the covers
Yep. This definitely has TERRY GILLIAM written all over it!
@chienfou I love him – he’s so crazily original! I find his imagination fascinating. “Pedestrian” is certainly one adjective you could never use to describe him!
@chienfou @ircon96 Ever see Tideland? I like TG and most of his productions, but that one seemed a bit over-the-top to me.
(Amazing job by the young actress though, I guess.)
@chienfou @ircon96 @macromeh Tideland was definitely juice worth the squeeze for me. Knowing what I know about addiction it hit remarkably close to home.
A poetic horror film indeed.
@chienfou @macromeh @therealjrn No, i haven’t seen that one, although it’s been on my watchlist forever, especially since Jeff Bridges is in it. I’m much more of a 12 Monkeys / Brazil / The Fisher King kind of gal.
@chienfou @ircon96 @macromeh If you like oddball or atmospheric, you’ll like Tideland. It puts the irk in quirky.

).
I enjoyed those too (Brazil is one of my all-time favs), and pretty much all of TG’s films. But Tideland much less so.
Jeff Bridges is there briefly (although his corpse stand-in has a longer appearance
@chienfou @therealjrn
@macromeh Thanks for the heads up about Tideland’s dearth of a living Jeff Bridges! Lol
I feel the same way about Brazil & 12 Monkeys is right up there for me, too, although it’s been so long since i saw either one, i really should rewatch them at some point. Too bad my watchlist is seemingly infinite, no matter how many movies i finish watching from it! <sigh>
Holy hell! What did I just watch?!?
