Yes. I've never beaten the second quest. Game save always got messed up before I finished, and when I tried on an emulator (still refusing to look locations up on the internet out of principle) the hard drive crapped out on me while I was in the last dungeon.
edit: and I got all worked up and didn't see the link. Now I do. Awesome
the first Zelda game I played was Link's Awakening... never managed to finish it as a kid, but went back when I was older and finally beat it. it really was a great one.
I was going to send that link to a buddy who is a huge Zelda nerd, but alas, the site is shutdown, b/c of a Nintendo copyright infringement notice...oh well...
I have the gold carts of Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link sitting on the shelf next to me right now. . . I will never know how many hours I lost to those games.

Is that like the legend of sleepy hollow?
Pretty cool. Before the internet (and refusing to buy game guides), my dad drew his own world map one graph sheet at a time. Awesome game.
We never had the appropriate console, but I remember watching the cartoon.
@duodec You do not know Legend of Zelda at all.
I remember when the first game came out. My favorite was The Legend of the Four Swords. I remember playing it on my SP for hours.
Remember yes - played it no.
But I played Zork, and Wizardry, and Bards Tail, and Ultima, and Leisure Suit Larry and Hitchhiker's Guide.

Sorry, i go for twisty little passages.
I remember life before Pong.
I still have a Magnavox Odyssey, brand new, in unopened (sealed, pristine) box. Too bad they didn't shoot up in price like some of the Atari . . .
@Pavlov wow, we had one of those. there was a catapult game that was really fun
That game is 2 years older than me :-P
But I have played it and many other Zelda games. I don't really play games anymore though...good times
Even with the maps and hints, LOZ is still freaking hard to beat. I love playing it to this day on my NES.
BTW: If you haven't played your NES on a 42" screen, you should - you're missing out otherwise.

It's gone.
@DrunkCat Yep.
Well,
.
Sure, @dave, get me all excited, only to find out it's been taken down.
Still here for now, anyone know if there's a way to download it? http://web.archive.org/web/20160405001433/http://zelda30tribute.com/
