Regal Unlimited Movies
6Regal finally joined the unlimited movie game. I really miss my movie pass.
Regal at select theatres is doing $18 a month, unlimited, with no blackout dates and discounts of 10% off concessions.
You have to agree to 12 months.
I’m torn. I actually go to a different movie theatre often because matinees are about $7. I love supporting the smaller theatre.
If I see three movies or more a month, it would be worth it.

I was thinking about it but the year commitment is tough.
@sammydog01 at least regal isn’t going anywhere.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01
Not likely to join. But glad some chain is trying.
@RiotDemon I almost signed up tonight to go see Crawl. Maybe I’ll do it tomorrow.
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 If you go to your three movies a month, each movie is less than the price of one Twerking Alexa Bear.

Warren Buffet and all econ profs everywhere thank you!
are there really 3 movies every month worth seeing? especially over the course of a year.
@carl669 It depends how particular you are.
@carl669 Define “worth seeing”
@carl669 @therealjrn Sometimes if you see 3 movies you get free popcorn. FREE! I’ll go see pretty much any movie that’s not a chick flick.
@carl669 the only theater here in town is a regal, so ostensibly this deal should be a no brainer for me…but… yeah… are there that many worth seeing… IDK…
also, regal recently cut ties with atom for ticketing…(my Local Regal was one of the Pilot locations for Atom)
this saddens me as the atom app is pretty decent compared to Regal’s own…
@carl669 when I had movie pass I saw 40+ movies in the 9 months that it was unlimited.
I went and saw anything that looked slightly interesting.
@carl669
Honestly.
/giphy You forget yourself, sir!

@carl669
That giphy is so fucking wrong that it just has to stay.
@carl669
@carl669 @RiotDemon When I had moviepass I went to stuff that sounded terrible too. Sometimes I liked it.
@carl669 @RiotDemon @sammydog01 If I had it and was still on sabbatical, I’d prolly see some movies more than once, rather than go to see ones I wasn’t really interested in.
But as a cinema buff, [except Rom-Coms] I’ll pretty much watch anything else. Since I’ve been home, we’ve seen prolly a movie every other week, but all at matinees as they’re the best value.
SWMBO had been going to see a lot of movies at Cinemark before I took off work to study for my re-certification exam, so we signed her up for their “Movie Lover’s” Club at 8.99/mo, no minimum time-frame, which gives her:
1 monthly movie credit- Good for one 2D adult ticket—any movie, any time. Her unused credits roll over and never expire. Premium format up-charges do apply for I-Max movies. Her credits can be redeemed online, in their app, or at any box office.
Credits are saved to her Cinemark account and are automatically applied at checkout. She can reserve seats online or in the app without paying the usual fees.
She also saves 20% on concessions by scanning her Cinemark ID code on her phone at checkout, and then she also earns points to redeem for rewards online or in the app.
When we went to Avengers’ Endgame at I-Max, we essentially only had to pay for my ticket due to stacked discounts paying for her ticket and our concessions.
@PhysAssist
This is my favorite giphy for “2D adult”:
The competition was disappointingly dull.
@carl669 @PhysAssist @RiotDemon @sammydog01 ‘SWMBO’?

@carl669 @chienfou @PhysAssist @RiotDemon @sammydog01 Heh, thanks. That’s a new one to me.
@PooltoyWolf YW BTW , it’s pronounced “swim-bo”…
@chienfou I guessed as much LOL
@PooltoyWolf Sorry- yeah that’s my “Boss”.
@chienfou Yup- got it in one!
I think I have been to the theater 3 times in the last year. I also enjoy the matinee that is $4.50. I mostly go for the Popcorn, but now that I am trying to be all Low Carb and crap it’s not worth it.
@tightwad That’s why pork rinds were invented.
@mike808 @tightwad I thought it was to have to have something like light and crunchy bacon…
@mike808 i highly approve of your pork rind philosophy.
@carl669 Thanks!!!

I don’t go to the movies much but what happened to the $10 movie pass? Wasn’t all the movies you could see?
@star2236 they hemorrhaged money and got rid of the unlimited movies. They changed it to a plan where you could only see specific movies and they almost always disappeared by the time you were going to leave for the movies.
They brought back a new plan that was more money, but I was jaded after how they screwed everyone at the end.
