@Kyeh we had a diner that served this. Was really good. I haven’t tested this particular recipe though. I have made peanut butter cream cheese frosting and it’s super delicious, so this recipe sounded like it would be similar to the diner.
@Kyeh@RiotDemon Of course rolling your own means you could substitute different nut butters, like hazelnut, almond, cashew, pecan or even pistachio. And you could slide the fudge part more toward dark chocolate. I’m dying to try a hazelnut dark chocolate pie or an orange marmalade and Cointreau almond dark chocolate pie. I think a European Thanksgiving dessert tradition needs to start.
@blaineg I agree! I like the mini Reese’s cups the best due to that exact reason. All the bigger treats have too low a chocolate to peanut butter ratio.
In previous seasons Target has had a pack of 2 8 oz. Reese’s as part of their holiday candy line (they also had a giant Snickers and a giant York peppermint pattie. They don’t seem to have them this year, which is a shame, because the 1 lb. Snickers bar is the best thing ever. The 8 oz. Reese’s is not as good as you’d think, so no one should feel terrible about missing this even larger one.
I’ve made a Reese’s chocolate mousse pie many times. It’s really good and easy. I know there was a time I had to make more than one because my husband didn’t think 1 was enough for the whole family (5 people) because he wanted more than 2 pieces. Reeses mousse pie

@RiotDemon
That actually looks better to me!

@RiotDemon
I’m not the biggest fan of Reese’s cups (yeah, sacrilege !) The creaminess of this recipe makes it sound better to me than the original.

@Kyeh @RiotDemon Better with oreo crust. Much less rich than the monster Reese’s cup.
@RiotDemon
The peanut butter pie I make uses Oreo as a crust and sweetened condensed milk inside. It’s very rich but very good.
I think that one commits the same error that most special editions do, way too much PB, and not enough chocolate. The ratio is important!
@blaineg Yes. Like 99% chocolate and Peanut Butter only where you can scrape it off.

This thing looks amazing. The new peanut brittle reeses cups however are a crime against peanut butter, humanity, and all things good in the world.
@kjady Like the abomination that is Reese’s Pieces?
@katbyter Worse. So much worse. Avoid at all cost.
@kjady how about the potato chip ones
/image potato chip Reese
@katbyter @kjady Barf.
@blaineg @katbyter I’ve never tried them but oily chips with peanut butter? I don’t think it sounds like a good match…
How do you sell out of a consumable? I assume it will be restocked eventually.
@PooltoyWolf because the marketing team decided 3000 was enough to whip up interest.

@mossygreen I saw a monster snicker bar at a truck stop in Michigan. Travel America maybe? It was as wide as the end cap.
There’s already 2 listed for sale on eBay!!

@IndifferentDude Of course!
@IndifferentDude Looks like eBay pulled them.
@IndifferentDude @katbyter
Oh, interesting!
@katbyter maybe because the sellers didn’t actually have the “item in hand”; must be a no-no to sell something you don’t physically have.
Wonderful, at a distance. Evil (for me), close up.
I’d rather blame the temptation, and give the tempted lots of excuses.

@remo28 that looks super tasty!
Went to Hershey World in June and got these:

The price has jumped since then but we got 8 servings out of each one.
@j2 That looks fun!
