reCAPTCHA sucks (more) on mobile
0Is there a way to successfully use reCaptcha on mobile? I cannot get past the reCAPTCHA with my mobile phone no matter how many times I try. It's the check box for the "I am not a robot", not the words to solve. I check it and it just keeps clearing. Same thing happens at Dailysteals during their Rushes. I'm using a Windowsphone with OS 8.1 and IE11.

Found your problem
On iOS after clicking the check box the word appears to type.
Windowsphone user here too ... except I don't remember whether I landed the Fuku on my phone, tablet, or laptop. It was late. It was just the check box thing, though.
(Some nights, I'm even asleep before 9pm, so it's not just you east coast folks that miss deals.)
Isn't there a Firefox app for Windowsphone?
meh works great in Chrome on my Nexus 5...heh
The only browser available on WP8 is Internet Explorer for various reasons. Something changed with reCAPTCHA in the last couple of weeks. When Dailysteals first started doing Rush I was able to use my phone. Click reserve, check the reCAPTCHA box, click reserve again. Good to go. Then things started going terribly wrong a couple of weeks ago.
That is what I am afraid of. I use iPhone when I check at the launch of the new products and I am worried that I won't be able to solve the puzzle before the clock runs out. If I am so lucky as to be at work and the sale is still on I use IE 11 on my desktop. Chrome is not an option for me.
I'm apparently challenged on my iPad, but I couldn't get the keyboard to appear so I could type in the captcha text. Luckily, I was able to order on my desktop and only had to check the box to swear I'm not a robot or promise not to harm a human being.
I wonder what I did wrong on the iPad, though?
@KDemo did you tap into the top part of the captcha box? I think it's above the word, that's where you enter the text and tapping in there should bring up the keyboard.
@Ignorant - I probably didn't, thanks!!
Hi @Shawn,
Could, would you try something for me? Can you simulate a sale and try to solve the reCAPTCHA problem, with Voiceover turned on, using an I phone running 8.3? I don’t know if it is user error or if the elements are not labeled as to reveal themselves to the voice over screen reader. I can’t keep trying to learn it since the sale is over and it won’t let me try to buy. What is the trick?
I had to log in last night and that was odd. I don’t know how I got logged out. ? I usually have my phone locked in portrait mode and I couldn’t do anything to make that situation resolve. I unlocked the rotation and that didn’t reveal any check box that I could find or any other text input boxes other than those for address and name fields. And the picker was not participating after the second time I tried logging in. Not sure if that might have been a factor of the site being flooded or not. It worked the first time I got in but when I failed the robot test it was downhill from there. I tried three times to do it and I failed.
Thanks
@silverqueen We're using Google's new "No CAPTCHA" which is supposed to have better accessibility features.
From The accessibility of Google’s No CAPTCHA:
Since we're sold out on meh.com today there's not much we can do to test out there. But, I went ahead and ported the CAPTCHA code over to checkout.org which works the same way as meh.com.
Buy a $19 RCA 300-Watt Portable Power Inverter over here if you'd like to test it out: https://checkout.org/deals/rca-300-watt-portable-power-inverter
You'll have 15 minutes to cancel your order.
@shawn nice work trying to sell power inverters under the guise of accessibility testing.
@Shawn, I have tried multiple times to buy that inverter. Hahaha @Snapster! I But I can't. I did search google as suggested but no luck there either. WWhat is happening is the I am a robot check box is not swipeable. It jumps right over it. The only way to find it is to know that it is there and fumble at an area between the heading You have to tell us if you are a robot and the Buy it already button. Then what is supposed to happen is the recaptcha is to load and focus should be right there at the play or edit box, but it is not. Focus is lost and I am tossed up to the first edit box on the page. That happens to be the name field. I have to get back down four pages and hope to fumbel into the controlls which appear to now be above the You have to tell.... statement. then to find the choice of audio or and play or mp3 download, listen all this while the clock is clicking! It has a time out so If I can manage to find and listen it is real hard to understand.I gues I don't hear as well as @sublimosa And I don't know why I am having to enter my username and password every time I cokme to the site now? It used to keep me logged in and now it dosn't. Even to come here to MEH to buy or comment. Ugh I am not sure whom to realy complain to for this but since you listened.... Thanks Smile BTW this message is being typed on one of the belkin keyboards so if there are duplicated letters nanana I am cheep and bought it here!! Smile
