"REAL" Fukubukuro Reveal Thread. For Real!
14Someone very considerate gave me a “REAL” Fuku from Japan they picked up while travelling there over the holidays.
This food related Fukubukuro was a pre-packaged dealy, purchased from a major Japanese supermarket chain. Everything in it was from the Lotte Confectionery, which is a Korean sweets company that is very popular in Japan. I thought you might like to see what was in it, and share in the enjoyment vicariously. At the very least you might get a kick out of the whimsical packaging.
One interesting thing of note, even though the bag was sealed and the exact contents were supposedly a mystery, several of the items inside were pictured on the label. I’m not entirely sure what makes this particular type of bag lucky… I assume there is some variety to the items you get. Perhaps you are guaranteed to get the ones pictured, plus there are other surprise items… Anyway, Happy New Year!

orangina gummies?! How are those?
@Pantheist So I opened them just to answer your question. They are surprisingly tacky and are coated with sugar granules. When bitten into they are firmer than I would have expected based on the external tackiness. The flavor is dead on Orangina, but a little sweeter due to the sugar on the outside. TLDR; Good!
@mehdaf awesome! Thanks for the report
@mehdaf what’s orangina? orange + vagina?
@carl669 although they are intended for internal use, that manner is not described on the packaging.
@carl669 It’s the best part of the orange.
Here are pictures of another Fuku brought back from Japan, also food related. This one however clearly sticks to the mystery concept. The contents were not known and the bag was sealed prior to purchase. Good stuff!
@mehdaf This one looks better than the other one.
@densa you like it? Consider it yours…
@mehdaf Really!!! I’ll send you a private message and you can send it to me. Thanks a lot!
@densa Done!
Like.
I watch a lot of vlogs from outsiders living in Japan. The lucky bags are amazing over there. I know there’s a lot of high end bags. For example, a clothing shop sells bags for around $100, but they contained around $600 in retail of clothing items. Complete mystery bags though. The only thing you pick is your size.
@RiotDemon at least they let you pick a size! The first Fuko from meh gave me a used turquoise and purple child’s hoodie, which let’s just say is not of much use to me, but did meet the unlucky criteria, and did have purple…
On closer inspection, all the contents of the Lotte Fuku were visible on the packaging, including the nutrition information. I’m glad I opened it quickly before looking too closely…
A ridiculously long opening of two Pokemon fukubukuro bags.
A cat bag
Two clothing bags
Rilakumma x Mister Donut bags
If I ever go to Japan, I should go during New year’s to try to get some of these bags, lol
@RiotDemon
I love that the last bags say “Happy and Tasty”. How could one resist? I couldn’t.
Love love love the bright, colorful packaging on that stuff! Gonna check the international grocers to see if I can find some of those items just as an adventure.
So Japan had these Fuku bags only at the end of the year? I want to travel to Japan next year and would love to grab some of these bags.
@gustador good luck to you
