Quilt your shirts!
10Just stumbled upon this on Amazon, but they have a dedicated site as well. I might consider it as I have all my favorites just piled up in my closet.

Would be fun to see these as a quilt! Or a tapestry, depending if you use it vertically.

My mom has actually made a ton of these. At first just for me and my sisters, but then other family, and friends and friends of friends. They make pretty nice conversation pieces and are much nicer than a bunch of unworn t-shirts hanging in the closet. I don’t think she thought of charging $100, but I’ll let her know!!
@mschuette Awesome. I don’t have any sewing skills, so it’s out of reach for DIY project, but I like that I can do it regardless.
When I was growing up, my mom used to make these huge, thick blankets out of corduroy pants. Most of them were made into tetris type patters. Each of us kids got one. I love that thing. It’s super hot though. Pretty sure I still have mine around somewhere.
@lichme Mine was squares of corduroy and denim.
I use my 3xl shirts work as blankets already.
They could be themed. Conference shirts, cat shirts, pop-culture shirts…etc…
@medz I like it. Concert tees. I’d love one featuring concert tees from my youth.
@medz @ruouttaurmind THIS! I’ve got so many 80s metal band tees just stored in totes that, let’s face it, I’m never fitting into again.
My plan is to make a Mediocre themed t-shirt quilt but I don’t want to give up all my shirts yet.
The best I saw… when my sister married her husband about 30yrs ago, his mom gave them a quilt that she had made of his baby clothes that she had saved. Wish I had thought to do that with my kids baby clothes but they were long gone by the time I knew of the idea. Never thought about it with their tshirts as they got older.
@lseeber THIS! I have been saving special items and cool textures to do this when my kids move out… I expect t-shirt quilts are in my future too…but the frilly, bedazzled quilt is calling my name! (Think my son will hate me?)
@mikibell Doubt very much he’ll hate you! haha. My bro in law was quite pleased with his.
@lseeber My wife (and I, technically) had a quilt made from our kids’ baby clothes. It is awesome and nostalgic and beautiful. One day when we kick the bucket, we can leave it to whichever of the kids we decide we like most…
@shahnm I do really wish I had done this. Oh well, bygones. Here’s to hoping at least one of your kids qualifies!!
On Etsy there are a number of people who do this as well. The company listed here it is apparently a fleece backing. Other companies can/do use other fabrics as well.
