That’s the glory of keyless entry and push-button start, combined with a garage remote… The keys are “in my bag somewhere” (if my car unlocks and starts then they’re still in there) and my garage door opener is on my visor. No fiddling with keys required!
Side rant: What’s the deal with rental car companies gibing you both key fobs on an impossible to sever key ring?
I hate it because it forces me to carry both of those big bulky things in my pocket. I am not really a fan of carrying one big bulky key fob in my pocket, much less two.
The rental car company should hate it because it means if one key is lost, both keys are lost.
@DrWorm@narfcake
Actually I was told that the reason they do this it that keeping a separate key ‘somewhere’ would assume that the car never would make any one way trips away from that location. They keep both keys together so that when they decide to get rid of the car (i.e. sell it) they have 2 keys to sell it with.
Hmmm. @mediocrebot has our addresses, fills our houses up with stuff, then sells us discounted security systems. And now it wants to know where we keep our keys. Might be a pattern here …
Keys are so 20th century. Some of us have live in the 21st century, ya know, the digital age.
@hchavers So, do you know where your digits are right now?
Hanging on the keyhook by the door like they’ve been doing for the last 10+ years of my life.
Never again will I not have a key hook by the door.
On the kitchen counter, I think.
They are always in the pockets place on the counter – keys, cards and cash – excepting when I leave, of course: then they are in my pockets.
Cuz I’ve got one key in my pocket and the other one is in the key drawer! Harmonica fill

@DrWorm @narfcake That being said, YES it’s a royal PITA to have both those giant keys stuck together.
