Tempting…the last toothbrush I bought here ended up being near impossible to find replacement heads for Grabbed some sub-par replacements from Hong Kong
@zippyus I have no idea why someone would think this is a bad toothbrush. Maybe they got a bad one? Mine run perfectly, makes my teeth and gums feel great and I’ll never go back to Oral B. And I don’t get anything for saying good things about it.
@zippyus There’s always a possibility someone got a lemon. I read a one star review that said the toothbrush slashed the toothpaste around too much. The answer to that was put it in your mouth first. I can just tell you my results which have been great. For $30 it’s a good deal to me.
@datruandi Reading the reviews the problem (well at least one of them) appears to be you can’t let the handle get wet (eg don’t run it under water). Apparently that kills it. If you catch it soon enough and dry it out well in the oven it will revive, otherwise not. Of course that also presumes that you don’t accidentally make baked toothbrush.
So far, it looks like only Florida cares about their teeth tonight. Bets on what states are going to be the lightest on the map today? I’m guessing Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, West Virginia.
@djslack sigh. This again. You clearly haven’t been to Alabama, esp. on a weekend game day. Very attractive people with great teeth. Can’t vouch for a lot of their politics, though. But we’re used to this kind of chauvinism.
@PurplePawprints sometimes I’m clever. But I’ll admit I was very wrong. Montana, Wyoming, and Vermont don’t care about their teeth.
@sandirobertson I was actually just there a couple of weeks ago. Ate at Lambert’s with half the state it seemed. There are some very attractive people there. Of course, this number goes up dramatically when LSU comes to play
I also love that no one is stepping up to defend any other state. Alabama folk, you’re ok by me until football season. The map has proved me wrong.
Hopefully this thing will last through all 12 heads. If I have to throw it away after that, it still only cost about 2.50 each brush head. Cheaper than what I’m using now.
I’m trying to buy this damn thing but every time I try to confirm the order, I get “oops, something went wrong. Lets try that again” …did this about 20 times. Guess I won’t buy it afterall.
Bought this on the last go-around and it’s a fantastic toothbrush. Not much more to say. If you’re usually a caveman brush with no electronic POWER behind it you owe it to yourself to get this.
I’m a dentist, so I speak with some authority on this subject. A lot of people think that dentistry is a conspiracy to suck your wallet dry, but there isn’t a dentist on the planet who won’t tell you to take better care of your teeth.
Prevention starts with using a power brush twice each day for at least 2 minutes each time. Use this one or some other, it really doesn’t matter, but use one. Even the $5 spin brushes are better than manual brushes. Start your kids using power brushes early. Floss daily. And for **** sake, quit drinking soda! Brush at night to keep your teeth, brush in the morning to keep your friends.
Buy the big packages of floss picks so you don’t run out. Keep some in your car and floss at stop lights. Keep some in a bowl on the side table next to your recliner in front of the TV and floss during commercials. Do this for about a month and it will become a good habit. When you start to miss them when they aren’t within easy reach you’ll know that you’ve developed a good habit.
Go see your dentist regularly, whether you have insurance or not, for cleanings and exams to prevent and fix problems while they are small. Just like your car, prevention and maintenance are relatively cheap, repairs are expensive. Also, just like your car, the longer you wait, the more expensive the repairs become.
@mrehorst So, how do we really know your a dentist? I was always leery of those 4 outta 5 dentist recommends things because what if 3 of them are idiots? and furthermore, why is there always one… ONE hold out in left field when they do such surveys?
@Charliethedog announcing you’re a dentist is like announcing that you’re a lawyer- not something a sane person would do if they weren’t, indeed, a dentist or a lawyer.
Looking at the reviews from Amazon it appears to be junk made in China.
I’ve had Sonicare electric tooth brushes for years and they all worked great. Spend the extra money.
I have the $20 oral B brush. Love it. Dentist loves it. All the useful features of the more expensive models and none of the useless ones. No, it’s not blue tooth, but that sounds like a pun anyway.
I’d get one, but I already have the Sonic care - so this is the sort of thing that people that are interested in electric toothbrushes probably already have. I don’t change the brush till it goes limp. I’ll bet it’s like the mattress people who say buy a new mattress every 8 years —pooh. Sorry…meh.
I tend to use the brush heads that have the color indicator of when to change it. It’s supposed to be every three months. The indicator is always worn down after 3-4 weeks… So, useless. I don’t mark my calendar, so I change it when it looks worn or my teeth don’t feel that clean.
@vrillusions I replace my manual brushes every three months. I’m always surprised how good a new toothbrush feels. I tried an electric toothbrush once and the weird vibrations running up my jaw gave me a headache.
I bought 2 last time, and they were 5.00 cheaper…I think mine knocked out part of my back molar, at the gum line…since I didn’t have trouble before. I’m sure if your teeth are fairly healthy you won’t knock anything loose…lol. That said, now I am just hoping to get it out before I get lovely excruciating pain. Dentists don’t seem to pull teeth anymore, have to go to an Oral Surgeon… UGH.
I just jumped in for 2 at that price, also picked 1 up last month on Amazon when they had a great sale… Only problem is I cant seem to kill the one that I got 3 years ago. So I guess I’m set for the next 20 or so years at least electric toothbrush wise. ( Hell I just had an epiphany ), I can put a soft rubber thingy on the end where the bristles are and give it to my girlfriend. Problem solved and everybody wins, happy-happy joy-joy…
I’m a ridiculously white 50 year old white man from a place where there are basically no POC. Which brush is the correct color for me? I don’t want to offend myself.
So I’ve used powered brushes like the SpinBrush for a while. I basically brush my teeth like I would with a manual brush, letting the rotating bristles do the extra work. Always felt much much cleaner than a manual brush.
Reading the instructions for this, it said not to brush like normal, but to let the vibrations clean your teeth. I hated it. I didn’t feel like my teeth were clean enough. If I brushed like I would normally, it felt pretty good. Does anybody that justs let the bristles do the work, actually like how their teeth feel at the end?
Drawback… My upper palate is super ticklish, and this sets me off like crazy, lol
Once when I was getting a cleaning, the hygienist accidentally touched my palate with whatever vibrating thingy she was using, and I flinched. I admitted that it was ticklish, and she purposely tickled me more. I laughed so hard I cried. Thinking back on it, it was kinda fucked up of her to do that. Tickle torture in the dentist chair.

Tempting…the last toothbrush I bought here ended up being near impossible to find replacement heads for Grabbed some sub-par replacements from Hong Kong
Might grab this to replace it all once I run out…
@SkyyPunk if you buy this, just buy three as “up front” replacement heads
I got this toothbrush the last time it was offered. Best toothbrush I’ve ever used. I absolutely recommend it.
@bsci87 I’m convinced. In for 1.
@Ziggie You won’t regret it.
@bsci87 #ordered!
I can’t hear the deal.
@Mehcromancer “THE DEAL”.
from the “it gets really good reviews” link:
22% one star reviews.
@zippyus I have no idea why someone would think this is a bad toothbrush. Maybe they got a bad one? Mine run perfectly, makes my teeth and gums feel great and I’ll never go back to Oral B. And I don’t get anything for saying good things about it.
@bsci87 the one star reviews said the toothbrush stopped working.
@zippyus There’s always a possibility someone got a lemon. I read a one star review that said the toothbrush slashed the toothpaste around too much. The answer to that was put it in your mouth first. I can just tell you my results which have been great. For $30 it’s a good deal to me.
multiple reviews say that it stopped working after a few weeks or a few months… hmmmmz
@Kidsandliz I don’t like the idea of a non waterproof toothbrush…
Confused… item not $5… no chance of trip switch… have enough data for the weekend?
What’s up to my Florida peeps that want clean teeth!
@RiotDemon dentures…
@somf69 spot on.

I too bought the last model that was sold here about a month ago and I love it. Best 25 bucks I’ve spent. Every now and then you get a winner here.
I replace my toothbrush when it looks worn, doesn’t everybody? I guess every 4-5 months.
@awk Same here. I don’t mark the calendar so I don’t know exactly how long. I signed up for replacement heads on Amazon Prime.
So far, it looks like only Florida cares about their teeth tonight. Bets on what states are going to be the lightest on the map today? I’m guessing Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, West Virginia.

@djslack
@jimmyd103 wowzers… i had to change the first image that was returned for “screw toothbrush”
/giphy not safe for work or home
@jimmyd103 I just need to know what that first pic was!

/giphy Still wrong, though

@djslack Remember…this is about “teeth”. Now if it was about “tooth”, there might be a lot more buyers in those states…
@djslack Maybe only the people in Florida don’t already own a toothbrush.
Love the Mr. Mom reference. Well done!
I got the version of this without the UV thingy. I absolutely love it! Best toothbrush I’ve ever had.
No bluetooth, no deal.
Antone know what happened to Oral A that they had to go with Oral B?
@mike808 guessing it’s something lame like Oral Brush.
@mike808 You don’t want to know the intended use for Oral A.
@mike808
High Expectations Asian Father also questions the B-grade toothbrush company.
I used this brush for 4 months and my dentist didn’t believe that I brushed anymore. Steer clear of this “deal” or pay for it later.
FYI I went back to Sonicare and the dentist gave me a positive report once more.
Hopefully this thing will last through all 12 heads. If I have to throw it away after that, it still only cost about 2.50 each brush head. Cheaper than what I’m using now.
30,000 strokes per minute.
I’m trying to buy this damn thing but every time I try to confirm the order, I get “oops, something went wrong. Lets try that again” …did this about 20 times. Guess I won’t buy it afterall.
I thought Meh.com was selling QUALITY items. This toothbrush has awful reviews and very poor customer service. Come on guys.
@u4icmusic
When you see 20% 1 star reviews I would stay away from that product.
@u4icmusic, who said Meh was about quality? I’ve honestly never had that expectation here.
(No offense, Meh.)
Bought this on the last go-around and it’s a fantastic toothbrush. Not much more to say. If you’re usually a caveman brush with no electronic POWER behind it you owe it to yourself to get this.
Every three months? That’s only like…three brushes before having to replace it!
And I don’t know if any of you have tried brushing your teeth with a Bobcat skid steer…but, ow!

@mrehorst Thanks, that’s the best breakdown I’ve seen in ALL the comments.
@mrehorst So, how do we really know your a dentist? I was always leery of those 4 outta 5 dentist recommends things because what if 3 of them are idiots? and furthermore, why is there always one… ONE hold out in left field when they do such surveys?
Seriously … agree with everything you said.

All I have to say is I wonder why Meh did not use Chip Skylark’s “My Shiny Teeth and Me” to advertise this product.
Meh, I still use the ol’ fashion “manual” toothbrushes. And I change them every 6 months, when I get a new one for free when I get my teeth cleaned.
@vrillusions I replace my manual brushes every three months. I’m always surprised how good a new toothbrush feels. I tried an electric toothbrush once and the weird vibrations running up my jaw gave me a headache.
@HemlockTea, try a different one. There can be drastically different feels with some. Depends on the type, speed, etc…
@HemlockTea just a FYI the sonicare ones slowly up their power over the first 14 uses for this exact reason…
I use a Oral B Vitality toothbrush. works great.
Toothpaste and mouthwash I use are made by Closys. Recommended by my dentist about 8 years ago. That’s what I been using and pretty impressed.
My Sonicare croaked last week, and I already have the replacement. I hated the two days I had to use a manual brush.
Using an electric toothbrush made my gums a lot healthier. All those 3, 4, and 5 millimeter gum pockets are now 1 and 2.
It’s not about just brushing stuff off your teeth.
Use an electric toothbrush. Take care of your teeth and gums.
I bought 2 last time, and they were 5.00 cheaper…I think mine knocked out part of my back molar, at the gum line…since I didn’t have trouble before. NO PROBLEM
Got one of these last time and it’s not anywhere close to as powerful as my Sonicare. I doubt it’s brushing my teeth at all.
Damn you. In for two from the Philippines.
In for one… Lofty-Plastic-Doll

Love this brush! Ha!
Great toothbrush!!! Thanks Mediocre!
This works great. We’ve had absolutely no issues with it and it does a great job cleaning!
