I am at $265, but I have $20 of free amazon bucks coming back to me. Plus, the 6% back from the Amazon Store Card. Waaaaay more than I thought I would, or should, have spent
$330.16, but that’s after $10 off from a Whole Foods purchase (incidentally avocado ice cream tastes NOTHING like avocados) and $30 of Reward Points. I have you beat by a buck, @bern20 !
@therealjrn@tinamarie1974 Comically enough I did buy a coffee maker to bring to work … because I’d forgotten that I bought the one on Meh last week. Obviously I didn’t have enough coffee before making that decision.
Last week I purchased a $50 gift card and texted it to myself to get $5 free bonus in preparation for Prime Day. Monday I bought a $25 gift card for myself to get $5 free bonus. That’s it.
I upgraded to the new Paperwhite for about $25 after trade-in and cashback, bought the $25 gift card for the bonus, used my Whole Foods credit, bought 4 casual work shirts and a case for the new Paperwhite. 138.46, with 77.50 coming back in credits.
A couple of 10" Fire tablets for my wife & mom. Maybe with only the Amazon store to play with, SWMBO will have less ability to screw it up with evil downloads.
As for Mom, it may be wasted money, but I’m trying to expand her technological horizons.
My niece found Lifestraw water purifiers for $10, and I think that beats anything I’ve seen.
Yeah, I bought 6 kindles… but not for me We do a charity thing at Christmas time, and invariably there is a need for tablets. I spent a bit, but more because I needed things rather than because of the prime day content. Other than the kindles and the wifi repeaters, I didn’t see any amazing deals that enticed me to part with my money …
@therealjrn quick math, around $255 (160 of it is the kindles), $50ish of it was baby presents for the great great which I try to do monthly… diapers are NOT cheap!!!
I bought an echo show 5 that’s not much better than the gen 1 show I replaced with it and upgraded a Fire tablet and Paperwhite for spares. So I have stuff but it’s in boxes under the bed until something else dies. But it was cheap…
@sammydog01 I like the the Show 5 for what I wanted it for, but you are correct. Also, it’s speaker is worse than the Show gen 1, and nowhere near as good as the 2nd gen Echo.
@mfladd@sammydog01 it’s marginally better than the echo spot speaker. Anyone have any idea how the 2nd gen show speaker compares to the 2nd gen echo or echo plus?
I spent $84 on things. I bought a charging cradle for my PS4 controllers & PS plus membership (I’ve owned a PS4 for over a year so this was a little overdue) and a fantasy football championship ring for myself because I won and it’s our tradition to buy ourselves rings and get our chalice engraved a la Lord Stanley’s Cup.
I was going to buy a Synology NAS from the warehouse (20% off) but got busy at work and they got scooped by others. I did get a pair of security cameras, looking forward to getting porch and patio monitoring in place. And a Thai singing bowl for my wife that looked really nice.
@therealjrn spent fa mo than I should have even without the $260 the Synology would have cost.
Around $220 all told, including some microSD cards, the cameras, the bowl, some fairy-LED strings for decorating, a red-dot sight, and motor oil. They didn’t have the type for my car but now I have two oil changes worth of quality synthetic for my wife’s car at about 1/3 the cost of walmart. Assuming its gets here still in the bottles and not all over the packaging.
@therealjrn And now Amazon has delayed the security cameras at least a week…
Hopefully they don’t go the way of the item that were ordered in March 2016, delayed five times, were ‘shipped’ but have no tracking, and are still an open order.
I spent $232.45, after credits from Whole Paycheck, Alexa, gift card credits etc. Several things were on my wishlist. Then there was the Piston Delivery BOC, and the $15./ 3 months Audible trial…
@tinamarie1974 I know! I used to have a job where I hung out with buyers. That was literally their job…spending company money! They got to be fussy hard-asses professionally!!!
I spent:
$9 + $7 shipping on a pretty red mug
$25 on a gift card for mom
$20 on a new chess book (pawn structure…so confusing!)
$13 on <mumble mumble>
$17 on a “foot peel” that was highly recommended on twitter, cuz my feet (as mentioned) are reprehensible
Uh…that’s $91. And I get $5 back, does that make me feel any better? Not really.
@therealjrn Well, it’s a little complex, but it’s a money management strategy. Simplified, it’s like this: I pour all my money into RV repairs so I don’t wind up just wasting it on silly shit like… oh, you know, groceries, utility bills, insurance, gas, stupid stuff like that.
My total comes in at just under $250 if you tack on my Woot order. Nothing major, just a bunch of smaller items. Woot shirts, Petco gift card, food, cat food, house supplies, etc. Their normal prices add up to around $480…so I guess there’s that to make me feel better?
The boyfriend only made one purchase - the Ring Video Doorbell 2 that discounted down to $60 worth of his Amex points. So it could have been a worse sale.
Only counting Amazon purchases, I spent about $650. Got a PS4 bundle, a Ring Pro with an Echo Dot, and assorted other items. Other purchases included, I spent about $750 total.
I spent around a hundred bucks on stuff I was planning to buy anyway, but the Prime Day prices made it more appealing to get them now:
• $25 gift card for friend’s birthday with $5 credit for moi
• Keurig K-mini with 12 ct Colombia Coffee, Deal of the Day minus $10 Whole Paycheck credit
• SankDisk 256GB Ultra Dual Drive USB-C/USB-A, Deal of the Day
• Clarisonic 2-pack brush refills, Deal of the Day (almost half price)
$259 for Sound Bar
$100 for $100 in gift cards they made be buy with the above sound bar
$25 Amazon Gift card to get a $5.00 bonus card/credit
$15.54 in sales tax
Total: $399.54
With $130 being able to be used for a future date. So net $269.54 for the actual day.
nope, can’t help you out there.
I bought a $25 gift card to get $5 free bonus and
bought a wifi repeater for <$20
sorry…
I am at $265, but I have $20 of free amazon bucks coming back to me. Plus, the 6% back from the Amazon Store Card. Waaaaay more than I thought I would, or should, have spent
Less than $100. A few new, a few used, and the $21 Fire tablet in a couple months.
I didn’t get a chance to stock up on more catshirts from catshirtswoot, though. If I run out, though, I’m blaming the goat!
@narfcake Whoo, looks like I’m safe.
I spent nothing. Fuck their gimmicks.
$9.99 for BOC Pineapple Daiquiri . Didn’t get one of the 15000 from the WOOT-OFF (nor an IRK from the mehrathon) so I’m happy with the “haul”
I spent $369 with 4 separate orders Is there a prize other than an emptier bank account?
$330.16, but that’s after $10 off from a Whole Foods purchase (incidentally avocado ice cream tastes NOTHING like avocados) and $30 of Reward Points. I have you beat by a buck, @bern20 !
Feel better, @nolrak!
@aetris @bern20 @nolrak It was too much work to go to Whole Foods for the $10 so I blew it off. Now I’m sad I missed out on free avocado ice cream.
@sammydog01 I’ve been meaning to try that avocado ice cream. It’s expensive, though.
@sammydog01 @UncleVinny - Nothing at Whole Foods is free!
FYI, it tastes exactly like Breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream.
$12
Pffft. Amateurs. $728 you bitches.
(the lion’s share was things for work)
@therealjrn all coffee pots and grinders?
@therealjrn @tinamarie1974 Comically enough I did buy a coffee maker to bring to work … because I’d forgotten that I bought the one on Meh last week. Obviously I didn’t have enough coffee before making that decision.
@nolrak @tinamarie1974 Which was just delivered! Yay!
Last week I purchased a $50 gift card and texted it to myself to get $5 free bonus in preparation for Prime Day. Monday I bought a $25 gift card for myself to get $5 free bonus. That’s it.
@callow You spent negative cash! Way to go!
I upgraded to the new Paperwhite for about $25 after trade-in and cashback, bought the $25 gift card for the bonus, used my Whole Foods credit, bought 4 casual work shirts and a case for the new Paperwhite. 138.46, with 77.50 coming back in credits.

My niece found Lifestraw water purifiers for $10, and I think that beats anything I’ve seen.
@blaineg How much total did you spend was the subject
@therealjrn Details, details!
About $250.
@therealjrn And there was a $150 Nerf gun for $70 that I didn’t buy. I’m so proud of me!
Yeah, I bought 6 kindles… but not for me We do a charity thing at Christmas time, and invariably there is a need for tablets. I spent a bit, but more because I needed things rather than because of the prime day content. @mikibell How much $$$ is “a bit”?
@therealjrn quick math, around $255 (160 of it is the kindles), $50ish of it was baby presents for the great great which I try to do monthly… diapers are NOT cheap!!!

@sammydog01 How much moola then?
@therealjrn Adding it up would make me sad. Not gonna do it.
@sammydog01 I like the the Show 5 for what I wanted it for, but you are correct. Also, it’s speaker is worse than the Show gen 1, and nowhere near as good as the 2nd gen Echo.
@mfladd @sammydog01 it’s marginally better than the echo spot speaker. Anyone have any idea how the 2nd gen show speaker compares to the 2nd gen echo or echo plus?
1 item. lego kessel run millenium falcon for $85. not too shabby.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0787MWTLS
I spent around $90 bucks. Lots of neat stuff that I don’t really need. It was fun.
Oh, and I also bought one of the gift cards, so I guess $5 can be deducted from my total amount.
Anyone want a Twizzler?
@Barney ME!!!
@sammydog01 I’ve only got 5 pounds of Twizzlers. I’m kinda having second thoughts.
@Barney @sammydog01 THEY HAD TWIZZLERS ON SALE? sigh.
@nolrak @sammydog01 Yep! And they’re all mine!
@Barney @nolrak A FIVE POUND TUB! I posted it and everything.
@nolrak @sammydog01 And I bought it for around 7 dollars (don’t make me do math).

@duodec How much do re mi did you spend was the question. Hmm?
@therealjrn spent fa mo than I should have even without the $260 the Synology would have cost.
Around $220 all told, including some microSD cards, the cameras, the bowl, some fairy-LED strings for decorating, a red-dot sight, and motor oil. $119 for 12 audible credits. Plus about $10 for a fancy tarp/picnic basket that’s nice but I didn’t need it.
I spent $214 of my own money and $186 of my parents. I LOVE spending other peoples money!!
@tinamarie1974 I know! I used to have a job where I hung out with buyers. That was literally their job…spending company money! They got to be fussy hard-asses professionally!!!

$9 + $7 shipping on a pretty red mug

$14. $4 for Altoids and a tenner for a Twitt3r BOC.
@ruouttaurmind and $23,450.67 on RV repairs and tires.
@therealjrn Hey, that was an investment not an expense. The RV is now worth every penny of… about $18,000.
@ruouttaurmind Some might say you’re losing money, but you make it up in volume don’t you?
@therealjrn Well, it’s a little complex, but it’s a money management strategy. Simplified, it’s like this: I pour all my money into RV repairs so I don’t wind up just wasting it on silly shit like… oh, you know, groceries, utility bills, insurance, gas, stupid stuff like that.

@mebisping THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about!
Nothing for nothing leaves nothing
And that’s just fine by me
I spent around a hundred bucks on stuff I was planning to buy anyway, but the Prime Day prices made it more appealing to get them now:

you can feel better now
I got lightbulbs
$471.04
On Amazon… nada.
But $45 on Woot for 3 T-shirts and a pair of microSD cards.
@2many2no Which is owned by AMZN…
@therealjrn Well, of course it is, isn’t pretty much everything?
But one of them had a cat. @narfcake
@therealjrn And without Amazon, Mediocre Labs would have never existed!
@2many2no I bought zero catshirts.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@2many2no @narfcake Count on Narf to always bring it back home.
circle of life.jpg
I bought an Air Fryer for 29 bucks, that’s all I bought…
$259 for Sound Bar
$100 for $100 in gift cards they made be buy with the above sound bar
$25 Amazon Gift card to get a $5.00 bonus card/credit
$15.54 in sales tax
Total: $399.54
With $130 being able to be used for a future date. So net $269.54 for the actual day.
@MrMark Where exactly do we find the $5 credit. I am not seeing it on my account. Or is it in the card we bought?
@mfladd @MrMark I received an email the next day from Amazon telling me the $5 was loaded onto my account.
I got a couple of things that were already in my basket. Otherwise, this year’s Prime Day was a bit of a wash.
ummm… (looking it up) $39.70.
Anyone get in on this?
https://gizmodo.com/amazon-prime-day-glitch-let-people-buy-13-000-camera-g-1836487919
@blaineg Quite the glitch in the Amazon system to do that.
I’d probably feel guilty doing that…
ps… I spent maybe $135 on Prime Day.
@blaineg I wish.
OTOH, maybe they learned something from Woot after all?
I got 2 fire tv ethernet adapters since they were on sale for 3 bucks off minus my $10 whole foods discount… I spent… $15
oh oh and a PURPLE Boc!!! so $25
