Anyone have a recommendation? I don’t want anything too expensive. Something I can use to listen to music while mowing, but also has functionality to take a phone call.
@cinoclav@sammydog01 and rhat is why I didn’t want the big ones. Super heavy and they will start smelling after a while. Guess I just have to deal with extra loud music
@tinamarie1974 Yeah, that was the reason I looked for noise canceling. I have a pair of Bose QC35’s and the two best places to wear them are on planes and while mowing. Never would’ve bought them if I didn’t have a hookup at the time and got them for half price.
Heavy and serious are kinda req for lawnmower situations.
The weight might not bother you if you only use them for the time it takes to do the yard.
For mowing I’d go with either Bose, or the ones like those recommended, by Leightner and 3M and other companies, designed for loud work environments or for shooting galleries or the like.
I don’t think earbuds will do it for a gas or tractor mower. Just my experience/guess. Maybe earbuds are ok to cover an electric mower.
BTW
If not getting earbuds
You want Over The Ears design.
You don’t want On The Ears design.
Much more comfortable and much better noise cancellation.
@tinamarie1974 Of course when you mentioned the lawnmower I automatically think of headphones with noise cancelling also. I also would have recommended TaoTronics for the small ones. I recently lost one of the rubber ear hooks to mine and couldn’t find the spares. Also, couldn’t find replacements on sale at amazon. So I put a message up to both the seller on amazon, and another to TaoTronics. Both replied back to me that it was no problem, supplied a copy of my order number and both places said they are sending them out free of charge. I already received the ones from the seller. TaoTronics is coming from overseas.
They both get a star for 1st rate customer service!!!
@cinoclav@sammydog01@tinamarie1974 Actually the price came $24 and change for me. TaoTronics makes good headphones and with that price for small noise cancelling headphones I couldn’t resist the urge to buy them.
Also they are from the same great seller that I mentioned above!
@cinoclav@mfladd@sammydog01 That price sounds right. I was trying to copy links on my phone to post and gave up on switching back to check the price, so I went with under $30…I was being lazy
@tinamarie1974 A good buy if you don’t really want to spend much. $40 on the lightning deal for a few more hours.
Here
@cinoclav @tinamarie1974 Yes, yes, yes to these. I own them and love them! They are worth every penny of this price.
@cinoclav @mfladd @tinamarie1974 Damn, there goes my budget. I hate you guys!
@Barney @mfladd @tinamarie1974
@cinoclav @mfladd @sammydog01 @barney. Thank you for the feedback, but they were all to big/heavy. I ended up going with these hopefully they are ok
@tinamarie1974 Yeah, as usual, I was a lot of help.
@Barney always helpful for a smile
@tinamarie1974 Only drawback is the lack of noise canceling. They won’t subdue the lawnmower unless you crank them a bit.
@cinoclav hhuuumm did not think of that! Phuf
@cinoclav @tinamarie1974 That’s why the hearing protection ones are nice. But they are super heavy. And sweaty. Eww.

My lawn mowers use the wired version of this:
headphones
@sammydog01 link does not work?
@tinamarie1974 I tried to take off all the extra stuff and took off too much. I learned to use a hyperlink today!
Not necessarily. The ones you got are best utilized if you set them so they make a seal with your ear canal. You’ll a decent amount of sound blocked
Edit: whoops. This was supposed to be a reply to tinamarie. oh well
@thechilipepper0 all good. I got it
