Whoa, wait, now I gotta meet with other people, like, in person n’ shit? Can’t I just send an email at 3am and check if they ever responded back in a couple days?
Mine is no physical contact what so ever…but are chest bumps no longer a thing? I mean I can’t do one anymore (even though I upgraded my chest to be able to do one with a good rebound) but unless you’re willing to straddle the arms of my wheelchair and sit on my lap (man or woman) I’m out of the running. Just wondering if those are so passé now?
@Oneroundrobb we have a friend who does this…i could never get it down, not to mention we only see each other in bars so it was a particular kind of silly. (drunk.) now we just hug each other hello. used to do various ‘daps’ when i was in high school though.

Under certain emotional circumstances, the guy hug: stand to one side of the other person, reach around to their other shoulder, grip it firmly and shake their upper arm gently.
really depends. the more i consider the question, the more i realize the social rolodex in my brain also comes programmed with specific greetings for each person. there are friends who hold on too long and i hug back begrudgingly, friends i hug but it’s more like the bro tap, some get the head nod, some that hold me tight and kiss me on the face, some who i hug and we do a single air kiss on one side, some where you do the air kiss on both sides, a series of very short and thin women who i would hug tightly but it always feels like trying to hold a bundle of crepe paper streamers, friends i’ve known forever and love dearly but we don’t engage in any physical contact because it would be weird af.
if it’s an introduction, generally i avoid all physical contact. if i’m drunk i sometimes offer my hand for a handshake. always hug my mom. the rest of my relatives…ehhhhh. i mostly feel like an alien and just say something awkward from across the room. i hug my dad and my sister goodbye.
Stand next to the person facing the same direction. The initiator will then put their arm behind the back of the other person and place their hand on their outside shoulder. Next, the initiator will pull the person towards them using the hand that is on their shoulder. If done correctly, the inside shoulders of the two people should bump together and the initiator should remove the hand from their shoulder at that time to allow the person to bounce back away from the shoulder bump thus completing the move.
Wave.
The meh octopus handshake.

Clean hands: handshake
Otherwise: fist bump
@Pantheist, you never know where the other guy’s hand has been . . . .
@Pavlov but you have a pretty good guess…

Shouldn’t there be an option for needlessly complicated choreographed handshake?

Taser
My preference is to not be put in a position to have to greet people.
Half nod. If the other person goes for anything more, I may go along, but usually I do an odd little step back to dodge.
Depends on if it’s someone I know.
/giphy No Touching!
@spitfire6006006 /giphy has failed me!
@spitfire6006006 WHAT?? A giphy letdown? Nah, that NEVER happens…
/giphy portentous glare
I’ll barely hug my grandmother I’m not hugging any of you people. I don’t know where you’ve been.
@unksol We’ve been online?
@Kidsandliz even worse
@unksol Possibly with your grandmother.
Short bow.
Look eye, Daniel-san!

Hugs for friends I haven’t seen in forever…
'Ello gov’na
Depends on the gender of the other participant ( I am male) For other males, my typical greeting is handshake. For females, it is a chest bump.
As much as I hope its obvious that I am kidding, I still feel obligated to add “jk” in this case.
You forgot for those of us who are King or Queen - a deep bow or curtsy will do.

@jerk_nugget I feel like we can deduce your entire life story from this.
@bish i’m listening…
I am agoraphobic. No touching. No talking. And do NOT pet my Service Dog. He is busy helping me keep my shit together so that I don’t kill you.
@PyxienTX Oh! whatacutepuppieeeeeeeeeeeeee

Giphy fail or has the internet been thankfully purged of teletubby video?
@mollama
/giphy teletubbies
@mollama No such luck.
@mollama not fail - I see it
@mollama giphy does not know the meaning of the word “fail”.
/giphy failure is not an option
Ya, this pretty much summarizes giphy’s whole outlook on success.
Gies a bosie!
It really depends upon the person… Hugs for those I know/like… Handshake for most new acquaintances… Bow for martial arts…

That’s how they do it in De Soto.
I’m sure it’s only a coincidence of funny gifs but all the individuals who seem to have difficulties in greeting others have something in common.

@medz …I was thinking awkward. All the individuals seem to be awkward. What were you thinking, sir?
@elimanningface they’re all whites
@medz

@ThomasF You’re thinking shark encounters.
@medz A boot to the head.

A simple “moin” would suffice.
Really depends on who it is, I mean I have relatives I would rather not hug…sooo complete strangers maybe a nod and and smile?
