Please DON'T Touch The Bison
5Apparently a father & son were in Yellowstone when they saw a baby bison. They thought it was cold and loaded it into their van to get help.
Breaks down in tears
I'm sorry, it's too sad for me to continue, you'll have to read the rest for yourself.

It upset me quite a bit. I started a thread about it earlier.
https://meh.com/forum/topics/did-you-read-that-thing-about-that-adorable-bison
@conandlibrarian
Evidently I missed that thread. Oh well.
On the bright side, it raises awareness for something or another.
Nope. Kids and animals - not lookin, not readin. I get too pissed off, and I haven't even looked.
@mfladd
It was a father and son.
(An adult was part of the mix)
@FroodyFrog what @mfladd meant was..he is a soft hearted person when it involves children and animals..easy to see if you look close enough
@mikibell yup :) I will yield to that statement, my friend. Everyone else I will take to hell with me
@mfladd Tough guys get a pass when it comes to caring for kids and animals. It doesn't take anything away from your normal rep!
@mehbee You haven't been wandering around tonight. This has been my super nice night on meh. I actually apologized to someone. @jaremelz felt ill because of it. But thanks. On any night, kids and animals - I have issues with - has to do with their innocence.
@mfladd I have since wandered and noticed said niceness. Totally agree on the kids and animals!
@mehbee shhhhh... @mfladd pretends to be a badass and we let him think we believe he is.... It is the first rule of meh fight club.... @carl669 has it in the rule book, even... Right, Carl?
@mikibell
What is the first rule of FC?
Well I just learned a lesson, confirm if the link that goes with a pic of a sweet, baby animal is for a good story or a horrible story. That just broke my heart. I know those people were trying to be kind but...what a horrible ending. Maybe like Froody said, maybe it will cause the next Good Samaritan to ask before they touch a wild animal. I have to go hug one of my dogs to cheer myself up.
@mehbee I really, really wish they'd tried it with a little bear cub.
@OldCatLady I know they were stupid but those two guys are going to have that guilt forever. At least there was not any cruel intentions...there's enough of that going on nowadays. I have to tell myself quite often that Hell awaits people who are cruel to kids, animals, and the disadvantaged. Doesn't help that much though.
A bear cub..that would leave a mark!
@mehbee If they had picked up a poor little cold bear cub, the mother grizzly would have erased them from the earth. The ciiirrrclle of liiiiffe....
@OldCatLady We had an incident at a public estate in town that has animals, and among them bears. A child tried to feed the bears and was bitten by one. The mom took the kid to the ER. This was on a weekend and the state had both bears euthanized to check for rabies. These were bears that kids went to see every weekend. I think the family finally moved because of the uproar, but the state made a very poor decision too.
@OldCatLady That's the truth
There seems to be a lot of this going around lately...

@2many2no as if there weren't enough reason to hate the selfie culture already.
Been following this one too:

@mikibell sometimes I feel like there is good cause for requiring a license to drink. Not a driver's license, and alcohol consumption license.
I'm going to Yellowstone next week. This makes me sad.
@RedHot just don't touch any bison!
@hollboll @RedHot
Or any other animal.
This explains things quite well (see the first comment as well as the text)

Here's a happy buffalo story.
@Teripie I seem to be missing the happy. How does it end?!? The people need to know!
@SpenceMan01 she was finally able to find a home for Bullet that met her requirements and Bullet now lives in a large pasture with two cows.

@Teripie Happy and slightly insane- thanks for the positive story
I'm wondering why somebody could not have hand-fed the critter? He would have been a dandy companion to Dolly the Llama.
@PocketBrain the upshot is that there isn't a facility equipped to house a buffalo in quarantine for the number of months for which it would have to live in quarantine.
Spoiler ahead:
They got lost in the park and had to eat the baby bison. Sadly, they had already named it Tony. After finishing the last portion, they realized they were a mere 50 yards from the ranger station.
The tourists involved in this story have finally spoken out.
Story over here
@FroodyFrog so… this raises the possibility that my questioning was on target, namely the question of whether it was rejected before or after the incident.
