Multiple of them appear to be wrong. Japan in Bloom is 500 in the thumbnail, 1000 in the summary and order page (and is 20"x20" like other 500 piece puzzles).
Paradise Beach is 1000 in the thumbnail and 500 elsewhere.
I’d like to offer an alternative view to this part of the writeup:
“You gotta start by looking for the edge pieces to build out the border. Then you gotta organize middle pieces by color and/or shape. After that, you need to analyze the picture on the box and look for defining details that might help you get your bearings.”
While that’s certainly one way to work a jigsaw puzzle, it isn’t the only way. I used to think it was, but when a friend (re)introduced me to puzzles a couple years ago, I made a comment about referencing the picture on the box and she wisely observed that I did not have to look at the picture on the box. I’ve since done all puzzles that way and while it certainly takes longer, I find the experience to be more fun (which I think is the point, eh?).
Similarly, some don’t build out the edge first.
(I don’t have a good counter for “organize middle pieces by color and/or shape”, so sure let’s go with that.)
We got some of these puzzles the last time they went on sale, just as a heads up all the internal pieces are only one shape, which makes putting the puzzle together a bit more of a pain in the butt than normal.
They’re really pretty, but we feel are less enjoyable because of the lack of different shapes/puzzle piece designs.
@Stevokanevo89 Eew that’s a puzzlingly bad decision. It was also the image as well as the odd shape that defined a good puzzle, to me anyway. And once you get to uniform color skies or water, you got nothing but piece shapes and subtle color variations to guide you.
I bought two of these for my kids (enchanted forest and whimsical woodland). Just be aware that they kind of suck. Every interior piece is the same shape with 2 tabs and 2 blanks. Every. single. piece. You wind up with a lot of pieces “fitting” but not being right - which is frustrating for kids and they wind up feeling like they aren’t good at it.
If you’re thinking of buying these for kids, do them a favor and find a decent quality puzzle.

@shahnm you bastards!

/giphy you bastards
Shouldn’t we have had a second mehrethon after the multimehthron from yesterday? It would have been in the theme.
@Fodder650 I’m wondering if they will have another either Thursday or Friday for the ling weekend.
@ironcheftoni Now there is something. A labor day mehrethon for the day that they shouldn’t be working.
@Fodder650 There was a mehrathon? These kittens are taking up way too much of my time.
@Fodder650 @lisaviolet
Kittens are way better!
@Fodder650 @Kyeh @lisaviolet kittens are always better!!
That tiger looks like it was caught with a paw in the cookie jar.

I just wanna be comfortably numb after hours looking at little moving pictures squares all day long.
I had a puzzle, it said 3 years and up, but I managed to do it in about 2 months…

NGL, I thought today’s meh button was ants instead of puzzle pieces and cringed for a second.
Puzzling!
Why does the image thumbnail say seaside village is 1,000 pieces, but the description and order page say 500? Which is it?

Challenging, but not in a good way.

My order # is portly-gushing-blood, which I absolutely will search for, but won’t post here.
@merichmond two months to Halloween!
These suck. Meh…just burn them all.
Agree
. Saw the comment last time about the shapes, confirmed on my own and donated almost immediately (sorry, recipient!!!)
The ad that sent me here said your shipping was $5, not $6.
